I'm a bit behind, just seen Ben Dingle and got all excited there for a moment, I thought it was a young Jonathan Rhys Meyers, phooar, but alas it wasn'tBlush

CanYouSmellMyCharlie · 30/01/2020 18:31

Can't manage to watch regularly, so how were the Dingles introduced? They're portrayed as a family that have lived there forever - so how come we're only just hearing about them now?

Also, when (and how) does Biff arrive? I fancied him something chronic back in the 90s!

Phwooarr. Sex on legs!!!

CanYouSmellMyCharlie · 30/01/2020 18:34

Come on, JaneJeffer! You're the expert!

Fill in the gaps for me, please.

ScarletPower · 30/01/2020 20:13

The Dingles certainly haven't been mentioned in Classic Emmerdale since the re-runs started until very recently - I think Zoe Tate a few episodes before Ben made his appearance said she'd been up to their farm and also the Glover's and made reference to them feuding. Lo and behold the Glover's put in an appearance around the same time as first Dingle Ben, and now they are shoehorning the Dingle's bad reputations (which clearly go before them) into every episode.

cherrytree63 · 31/01/2020 06:32

I don't know whether to feel sorry for Cathy or glad that's she's going to be free from Chris.
The scene with Rachel swimming along grinning at Chris made me laugh, I'd probably be tempted to drown someone if they were gurning at me like that!
What year are we in now? Scott mentioned the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and it's thrown me as the film came out in 2003.

TheUnknownThingThatKillsYou · 31/01/2020 09:20

Think we are still in 1994. Rachel better hurry up and get pregnant, how old is her baby Joe supposed to be now in the new Emmerdale? I gave up watching, I know he was with Debbie Dingle.

Jan Glover was talking about the Dingles saying that after some feud they moved away and now they are back. That explains their reappearance I think.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 31/01/2020 12:33

Pirates of the Caribbean the ride is what inspired the film, it was there for many years before the film came out.

Doing well for eye candy at the moment, Dave, Biff and Nick are rather yummy

JaneJeffer · 31/01/2020 13:14

Charlie I'm not an expert just an addict Grin

Biff turned up when the doctor's children started school.

As Scarlet said the Dingles and Glovers were just mentioned recently as though they had always been around!

New Sarah!

I don't understand why they're having a trial for this. Is it going to come out what Shirley did? Alan will be so upset.

Just checked and the Kim actress was only 32 here, she looks at least late 40s, it must be the dowdy clothes she wears, same with Rachel she dresses like a 50 year old!

cherrytree63 · 05/02/2020 09:00

They really do dress like middle aged women, don't they!
I found some old videos of me and my family from the early/mid 90s, and I too dressed like a frump , but maybe I was at the height of fashion Grin

LovelyPearl · 06/02/2020 09:25

Noticed Sarah came back with a new head and now baby Victoria has a new one too! Grin

JaneJeffer · 06/02/2020 14:02

Luke is such a gentle soul.

Zoe is blowing very hot and cold with Kim. One minute she's saying Kim wants to take over the business and the next she's giving her business ideas.

Chris and Rachel snogging is yuck.

"You were different" yes Sarah definitely was a completely different person Grin

Dave Glover is looking good today, eh?

Does no-one in soapland lock their door when they're bonking? I thought Frank was going to go upstairs to congratulate them Grin
New Sarah has no chemistry with Jack, why did old Sarah leave?

JaneJeffer · 08/02/2020 00:34

I believe she wanted to leave because she thought doing the plane crash story was insensitive to the people of Lockerbie.

Shame because I liked the dynamic between Sarah, Jack and Joe.
Eric's an evil shit, was it Val that made him turn into a good guy?
Zak looks so young, it's been ages since I've watched "modern" Emmerdale, but whenever I saw him without his cap I didn't recognize him.
He's another wrong'un turned good.

JaneJeffer · 10/02/2020 14:28

I'm not sure what Eric is up to. It's hard to follow.

JayFromInbetweeners · 11/02/2020 08:30

mmm, yeah, Dave Glover is DEFINITELY growing on me! Blush, How old is he here? I bet he is younger than my son! haha

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2020 13:55

Ian Kelsey is a couple of years older than me so he'd have been around 27. I don't know what age Dave was supposed to be.

Has Lynn gone for good?

OP posts:
MrsSteveMcDonald · 11/02/2020 14:27

Yes she won't be back

MrsSteveMcDonald · 12/02/2020 19:12

Don't know why Kathy is being so dramatic. She was going to leave Chris and only stayed because people would think that she was horrible if she left Chris after the accident. She doesn't love him and has said this but somehow him finding someone else makes her someone to be pitied? She's got the gorgeous Dave in her future so life is hardly unfair

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2020 21:18

Yes she was being so melodramatic.

Why didn't Zoe just tell that woman she doesn't fancy men. It was really strange that they showed the slap at the end of one episode and the beginning of the next.
