Who else is watching?

I missed first 15 mins and desperately trying to catch up (don't have iPlayer). Either I missed a season or there a several new faces!

If anyone could give a brief recap I'd appreciate it.

It was not good this week! I didn’t care who,why or how tbh.

hopeishere · 23/01/2019 07:28

Yeah. I've still no idea who dunnit from last night.

2rebecca · 23/01/2019 09:49

CONTAINS SPOILERS althoughI never understand why people read threads on programmes that have been aired if they don't want to know what happened.
That was terrible. Agree bad acting from the letting agent who came across as a work experience student not someone you would share a business with or leave alone in an office although it was presumably meant to show a very unequal relationship.
An angry man chopping up the tattooist because he may have infected his wife When his wife was still alive and they hadn't yet found the cause of her septicaemia was very unbelievable. He was supposed to have stole the moped on a whim but happened to have cleaning materials and something to chop up bone on him? Hidden where? All they showed was a knife. I can understand him killing the bloke in a temper but not the chopping up and clean up operation. Also how come the police didn't search the boats for Stephen earlier? I thought there were records for boat ownership and the Marina would surely have an idea of which boat was his as he had been there for years.
Was this weeks moral message supposed to be "don't go swimming if you have a tattoo as you may die?" Or "women nag their partners about being at the birth so much men let people die rather than be late"?

Luckyme2 · 23/01/2019 09:54

Weirdest most convoluted storyline line ever!

Justmuddlingalong · 23/01/2019 11:05

It was shocking. Wrapped up in the last nano second it seemed. DP fell asleep, unsurprisingly, and missed the reveal of who dunnit. I tried to explain, but gave up. His 😕 face told me neither he nor I actually knew or cared.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/01/2019 15:13

How was the bald headed guy (with the very young baby) even involved? And how did he end up with the head (was that MK's?) in the rucksack to dispose of?

2rebecca · 23/01/2019 15:47

Don't know if they ever explained the head in the rucksack as surely one bloke was chucked in inone piece (accidentally crashed in to murderer) and the murdered tattooist was chopped up (for reasons unknown, sounds an unnecessary fangle and mess why not wrap him in bin bags in one piece?)and put in the other bin. There was a bit about hands I didn't get either. Surely van man would have had no body parts just blood stained stuff to dispose of. Him not just reporting a man suicidally crashing in to his van is bizarre

Justmuddlingalong · 23/01/2019 15:49

He was sleeping with his ex, over the limit and parked on the street with all the bins. As he left, he crashed into the guy who'd murdered MK and stole the moped. The murderer landed on his own knife. The bald guy, put him in the back of his van to take him to hospital, but then his wife phoned to say she was in labour, so thinking the moped guy was dead, he dumped him in the bin. That body wasn't cut to pieces, the machinery at the recycling plant did that.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 23/01/2019 15:52

It wasn't the best story they've ever done. I got bored and just stopped watching in the end.

Really hoping next week is back to normal!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/01/2019 17:33

Thanks for the resume Justmuddlingalong - so the dismembering killer well and truly got his just deserts...

Way too convoluted a storyline...

InternetRandomer · 23/01/2019 20:34

Also it was confusing as the name on the bald guys van was M Knight aka MK and yet it was a different MK who got murdered? And the scenery and bald bloke made me think v fondly of Broadchurch. Bald bloke looking like Nigel that is.

Jack has developed psychic powers I think. Just happening upon the correct tattoo place, guessing Nicky’s pregnancy problems and he always just knows what’s gone on at a crime scene.

2rebecca · 23/01/2019 20:51

Why did the head end up somewhere weird in a bag? And I thought the van guy ended up with someone's hands but I may have got muddled there.

InternetRandomer · 23/01/2019 20:53

Van guy had the hands in the pizza compartment bit on the bike but he didn’t know they were there, he just said there was loads of stuff in it and then set fire to it all. But yeah doesn’t explain why he lobbed the head in the bag into the sea as surely he’d have known what that was?

Toyboysrus · 24/01/2019 16:20

I've just watched this and am also confused about whose head and hands ended up where! I thought there was a 3rd victim at one point as there seemed to be too many hands being found for 2 bodies!

PavlovianLunge · 24/01/2019 16:54

How is this old bollocks still being commissioned? It was never exactly realistic, but it’s just ridiculous now.

And who is still employing Emilia Fox? I know the budget wouldn’t stretch to Meryl Streep, but surely they could employ someone with a little more range. Or just use a tailor’s dummy and dub the dialogue.

InternetRandomer · 24/01/2019 17:32

I have serious Emilia Fox hair envy Envy

diddl · 24/01/2019 17:33

Is this to be the last series do we think?

Or are they getting rid of Emilia Fox?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 24/01/2019 18:01

Diddl not heard that it's the last series or that Emilia Fox is leaving but her relationship with the American politician is currently pointing that way, don't you think?

RedForShort · 24/01/2019 22:31

I've just watch. Jack definitely does have psychic powers. Seeing he found all the body part first time looking in the tip (despite the police searching for a while).

That was all very confusing.

Though I also have hair envy. And clothes envy. And house envy (bathroom excepted).

Anybody watching tonight? It's been unintentionally hilarious. Perhaps it should be retitled "Stating The Bleeding Obvious"?

FivexFive · 28/01/2019 22:21

I love to look out for guest stars from previous dramas from years ago. Dh and I make it a contest, to see who gets the most. Also, I know I should be over it, but... I MISS HARRY!!!

hopeishere · 29/01/2019 07:20

Being from Belfast I found the whole thing ridiculous. Clarissa being some sort of Uber expert on everything!!

MarchInHappiness · 29/01/2019 08:39

Oh good I am not the only one who misses Harry Grin

Last night was actually half decent, but its all got a bit far fetched in recent years.

I still enjoy Silent Witness, however its no where as good as it was imo the heyday (Nikki, Harry & Leo), good chemistry between those characters and and the focus was on pathology. There seems to be more focus on forensics etc these days with Clarissa and Jack.

SouthWestmom · 29/01/2019 21:52

What crap is this? They survived a bomb? And the forensic bloke was the one sent to rescue them?

JustAnotherMillennial · 29/01/2019 22:33

I actually enjoyed that, but probably from a history POV re the troubles so that made me intrigued. However there was fuck all pathology and they went over-board with the forensics.

Again all a bit far fetched and yes the bomb at the end was unrealistic, oh well - its still my guilty pleasure Blush

The shorts for next week, Nikki's pathology is seen as wrong and quelle surprise she's actually right at the end of the episode. They must do that storyline every bloody series.
