It's only redeeming feature was that it wasn't quite as bad as that abomination of a "Greatest Dancer" programme last night. But not by much.

I hate telly at the moment. I want more Jane Austen. "Persuasion on Ice" please.

DH thought it was Edwina Currie too. Gemma's partner had the best outfit.

I mean, I get that GC will bring in a lot of viewers and provides entertainment. But I can see her staying for weeks longer than she should, at the expense of better people. I hope I'm wrong!

Never heard of James Jordan in my life, found out he’s from strictly and from what I gather on here is a bit of a prick. He seems okay as far as I can see!! Haven’t seen him skate yet

He’s been the best so far but obviously with his background already has the dance steps, good balance and posture, solid core strength to aid with the lifts etc.
He was very good but it comes with a from me because of his dancing history.
Not his fault though as he was obviously asked by DOI to come on the programme really.

Also loved Jo Mangle
I mean, obviously he was a crap skater but he knows it and did move across the ice and did so independently at times. Not bad, certainly a million times better than I would be on there!

JJ was incredible but it is unfair with his background, I think Jane will be one to watch and improve.

Yes Jane was a very strong starter, plus I totally forgot before he came on the screen but i fancy the pants off of Sylvain
GC was better than I thought she would be.

Very late to the thread, but really enjoyed it. I skate myself, and have had the pleasure of skating with Vanessa and Hamish, who are both lovely people :)

I will say, Saara skating as a child doesn’t give her a massive advantage, if she never took lessons it just means basic skating will. E muscle memory.

James Jordan on the other hand, needs to go. Hate seeing pro dancers on things like this - I skate with a few people with dance training, and you can really tell in the way they skate.

Gemma did well, as a larger skater myself I was hoping she’d give it a good go - skating isn’t all about the lifts so if she works on her basics there’s a lot they could do choreography wise.

But thinking about it, the people who will skate on next week’s show wil have had an extra week to practice anyway so perhaps it evens out.
