Anyone else embarrassingly excited for tonight's return?

I recorded it, much more watchable being able to wizz through the ads and annoying chat.
I'm impressed with all the contestants, especially the older ones. I've been learning to skate for two years ( mid life crisis ) and as well as needing to master the physical part, overcoming the fear is really hard.....but it's amazing when something new clicks.

Unfortunately I haven't got the facility to record, but in any case it's nice watching it live. Yes good line up and I'm pleased to see one of my favourite male professional is back Lucas (sp?) Pavel I liked if anyone remembers him? I like Matt and another couple chaps who used to be on. Fred and Andrei.

Although obviously not in the same way miss some of the original women professionals but Alexandra is back. Liked Maria. In fact most of them so I won't mention them all!

EngagedAgain I can’t record either but I do have a natty little Now TV stick/box which gives me all the free on demand services. It cost me £15. I recommend this so often I feel I should be on commission.

@EngagedAgain Maria was lovely! What was the name of the partner she won with - he was off a singing show and a really amazing skater. Argh that'll bug me now but that series was my favourite just for those 2.

She sounds totally jealous all this shit about vanessa not "reaching out" to her and not inviting her down to training thats not vanessas job if WES wants meghan at training then WES should invite her. Not that i've ever known other halves to go down to training, in all the years ive watched it (and i was learning to skate during tje orginal series so used to see practices at slough and got to know the pros partically) i can only tgink of mikey grahams wife flying in from dublin to see him but that was because well mikey was based in london for training and his wife was at home in dublin so sge arrived early for the show one week. Certianly people like kyran brackens wife never watched training. Its just not a thing.

If vanessa was q bit as meghan has put it 'pained' maybe sge was trying to focus on her pro routine with hamish as well as her routine with wes nothing to do with not wanting to meet meghan.

But wes isnt helping with this i dont believe in the "doi curse" no wes no one does cos it doesnt excist its not strictly

For reasons unknown I watched (some of) the last series of Love Island. Megan was extremely popular with the boys . Wes was not her first shag on the island, nor she his. Maybe that’s where the insecurity comes from.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I miss Torvill and Dean appearing at training/ helping with choreo and participating in the pro routines. I hate them being trapped behind the judges desk!

I read an article that suggested ITV were going to let them skate during the series this year. They definitely expressed surprise re. their lack of skating last year, it didn't seem to be their preference.

Tbh Strictly pros have a one-year contract. It's probably not unusual in their business. But I can understand her upset as she was a fan favourite and worked her arse off, can't be nice to be dismissed so readily.

Last year certianly took longer to get in too gareth it sort of lost a bit of its magic.

The old pros were lovely, although one or two maybe were a bit loud about "being sacked" last year when they were told they had to reaudition for the job they hadnt done for 4 years. They became a bit james jordan-esque and i lost respect for them.

Tbh i think im in the minority that im not massively bothered by T&D not skating, although i do miss the pull of being taught to skate by T&D. i think philip asked on the begining of this series wether they'd skate this year and chris said yes.

I'm kind of glad that dan whiston has creative control this year because without chris deans choreo the pros were allowed to choreo their own rountines and that lead to things like brooke standing on the side with a wind machine on her while mattue skated around - wow mattue a pro can skate i bloody hope you can your meant to be presenting the celeb partner not showimg off. So with dan hopefully they'll be less of that.

Thing is if you think about it DOI got cancelled it had been off screen for 4 years frankies statement as she had been on all the previous series she shoukd autoaticaly get her job back. Without auditioing.

Two things, she hadnt been in all the previous series she started in series 2 partnering lee sharpe. And if you hadnt done a job for 4 years would you expect to just get it back without interview?

Funnily enough i am actally back at the same company i worked for 6 years ago. I didnt walk in and go hi im naught you know me give me my old job back. I applied for it i went to interview, i waited for them to tell me if i'd been sucessful getting the job. Frankies assursion was that she was frankie and their for itv should just give her the job without her having to audition show them her audition tapes. Or do anything cos shes frankie.

And then there was her message to matt evers when he got voted out with candice that matt batted back and told her in no uncertian terms to shut up. She was like hay matt you can join the rejected old pros we're all better than that lot any way it proved her to be actally very very bitter and not very nice.
