Will anyone be watching this new Dance programme on BBC1 on Saturday evenings?!

The judges (although they call them Dance Tutors or something very silly) are the bloke from Glee, frozen-face Cheryl and Oti from Strictly (who I love!)

Hoping @Raahh is around and all the XF gang!

I will deffo be watching particularly as back in the day, I used to work for ITV and used to go round my area judging Disco Dancing competitions. Those were the days, it's over 30 years ago!

I asked upthread single and no one responded. . Probably no one knows!

That was Shite with a capital S.

DOI is on tomorrow? Didn't know that. Might give that a whirl. (See what I did there?) Bring on the Skating Donkey!

Myimaginaryreindeerhasfleas · 05/01/2019 21:11

I imagine the mysterious seated people in the auditions are to make it feel like a real audition and to tell them when to start and which way to face etc. All a bit weird. Well, we did try.

ppeatfruit · 05/01/2019 21:17

Hi Fuzzy OMG it could have been good but they let that looser through because he wanted to meet Cheryl??????? Shock it makes a mockery of the whole thing. DUH to the producers.

ellenanora5 · 05/01/2019 21:30

Thanks BeholdTheNewCurtain, I didn't like him at all, he always looked like he needed a wash but he was good on the ice in fairness.

Ok catch up with some of you on the DOI thread so

Mousetolioness · 05/01/2019 21:31

Andrew demonstrated the power of dance - joy and transformation!

MozzchopsThirty · 05/01/2019 21:32

One is a choreographer
Can't remember what the other one was
No idea why they sit there tho

Livedandlearned · 05/01/2019 21:37

The other one was a producer.

OddBoots · 05/01/2019 21:45

Choreographer and producer, not sure if they have already worked with the acts or if they will work with them later though.

It's not the acts that need working on, it's the format.

PlainVanilla · 05/01/2019 22:57

I watched it, it was cringeworthy, so I won't bother again. I am very glad not to be in the UK, so am not having my licence fee wasted.

JaneJeffer · 05/01/2019 23:28

ellen Ross O'Carroll Kelly is too much for a culchie like me Grin

ppeatfruit · 06/01/2019 09:29

Talking about cats Fuzzy I was far more entertained by our cat watching through a window from inside, and squeaking in disgust because he couldn't get to, a robin hopping across the terrace to nick food from the outside cats' bowl which was under his nose! Grin

Why is that programme called The Greatest Dancer in the singular? There are large groups of dancers being shown. Will they all win or will just one dancer from each group be picked out?

Surely there are some people who commissioned it who asked that question?

ppeatfruit · 06/01/2019 09:31

To be fair DOI was worse when I tried to watch it last year Grin

mogloveseggs · 06/01/2019 09:34

Andrew was just fabulous! So much joy!!!

ppeatfruit · 06/01/2019 09:41

Yes Andrew was lovely mogloves he beat my cat! Great that he really LOVED dancing and he danced well.

Shame that the wall parted for a twit who couldn't dance, only fancied Cheryl Hmm

SaturdayNext · 06/01/2019 09:41

I watched the first two acts with the levels of freneticism ever rising, and decided I couldn't take any more. I usually like Oti, but if she doesn't calm down she's going to do herself an injury.

mogloveseggs · 06/01/2019 09:57

ppeat true. But he won't get far i hope

umpteenpinecones · 06/01/2019 10:56

There was a palpable 'WTF' vibe coming off the audience, and I don't blame them. Fancy having to sit through hours of all that guff and film clips rather than seeing the actual acts.

Mind you, most of them wouldn't be able to spot a good dancer if they jumped off the stage and hit them with a wet fish.

ppeatfruit · 06/01/2019 11:53

Yes umpteen The dance captains seemed shocked that that classy, highly talented, male ballet dancer was not liked by the audience.

xsquared · 06/01/2019 15:47

I felt sorry for the male ballet dancer, as he was clearly very talented.

Andrew was a joy to watch. He had very good rhythm and fluidity.

AutumnCrow · 06/01/2019 16:28

We turned over to The Voice when Chezza started roshing with that superfan with the delusional fiancee.

JaneJeffer · 06/01/2019 18:33

Roshing is really catching on Grin

Is it me or does Cheryl look like she has a whole new face! She wears soo much make up it could be removed like a mask.

BeholdTheNewTablecloth · 07/01/2019 07:54

@Ppeatfruit Isn't the title just a reference to this club classic? although the pedant in me wholly agrees with you...
