Catfleas, I like your thinking.

SoupDragon · 12/02/2019 21:13

Yes, why are none using. Tailors tacks? My parents had a little gadget to do them.

dillite · 12/02/2019 21:13

Why did they choose such patterned fabrics?

SoupDragon · 12/02/2019 21:14

And why have they all chosen patterned fabric?

Wolfcub · 12/02/2019 21:14

Mmm Patrick is luverley

FuzzyPuffling · 12/02/2019 21:15

A gadget, soup dragon? That's classy!

dillite · 12/02/2019 21:15

I don't understand Tailor's Tacks.

P.S. even though I am not sewing, I am still having to fight off the cat as he's trying to get in the way of me discussing sewing.

SoupDragon · 12/02/2019 21:15

Lol

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/02/2019 21:15

I managed to stitch a dress to the carpet the other day.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/02/2019 21:15

I was taught to do darts using tailor tacks, but why oh why have they put Shetland on at the same time, the only two programmes o want to watch this week

Roussette · 12/02/2019 21:16

This just takes me back. I used to sew a lot, made my own clothes. Then I had DCs, I moved house, lost the foot pedal to my sewing machine, had no time and haven't done a thing for years and years! But I love this programme

Unescorted · 12/02/2019 21:16

ohhh YaY!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/02/2019 21:16

I can do tailor tacks!

LIZS · 12/02/2019 21:17

Learnt tailor tacks and darts in Home Economics aged 11! We made a pencil skirt.

SoupDragon · 12/02/2019 21:18

My first impressions of Joe are good. I think he's going to be a good replacement for Claudia.

glamorousgrandmother · 12/02/2019 21:18

I always do tailor's tacks, it's the way I was taught at school. I'm intrigued to learn another way though.

They all got carried away with the pretty fabric in the haberdashery - no one chose a sensible plain fabric. Pattern matching nightmare

Wolfcub · 12/02/2019 21:19

Really impressive for 3.5 hours (says she who can sew straight thing and that’s about it)

Jellykat · 12/02/2019 21:20

I like the red..

dillite · 12/02/2019 21:20

Very pointy darts on that previous one

Binglebong · 12/02/2019 21:20

I'm meant to be sewing right now - need to start finish my dress for Saturday. Making it up as I go along so three hours forty five really won't do it!

Proudpeacock · 12/02/2019 21:21

Oh I have missed Patrick.

Fontella · 12/02/2019 21:21

Patrick is lush

dillite · 12/02/2019 21:22

I like this floral fabric, it's pretty

FuzzyPuffling · 12/02/2019 21:22

It would take me a week to make a dress like that. And it would be nowhere near as good.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/02/2019 21:22

That spotty dress was never going to work, far too much stretch. Some odd pattern choices, I think I'd have gone more retro. Good efforts though for the first challenge. (Better than last night's Masterchef...)
