Apologies if a duplicate

And we're back

fleas Bruno's little belly coming over the top of his shorts was what caught my eye, more than any socks which may have been smuggled somewhere Grin
What distracted me more was Anton in shorts, altho I have to say, his legs looked better than I thought they would Confused

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 04/12/2018 18:17

I heard about Bruno's package but I'd stopped watching the opening dance as soon as I realised it was Mamma Mia so I missed it Blush

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst the lamppost/ Ola-ing around Grin

This is what I envisaged when a PP described a hypothetical Joe rumba Wink

ElspethFlashman · 04/12/2018 18:30

Brunos belly! I thought wow he hides that well with all his black shirts.

I've seen Antons legs before. I remembered how nice they were. Blush

....... I'm deeply ashamed of myself..... Grin

lettingthedaysgoby · 04/12/2018 19:00

I'm (somewhat late) with Gareth about Charles - I really didn't think it was all that. Better than Joe but that's about it...

But it's Lauren's time to go now. Her or Joe - based on performance.

lettingthedaysgoby · 04/12/2018 19:05

Also Karen Hardy on ITT tonight came as close as she could to saying Joe was poor - I wish they could be more honest

PawneeParksDept · 04/12/2018 19:08

Ive just seen that the Exec Prod is leaving.

Hope this is for the better not worse

Talk about dream job 👀

Go and stand in the corner Elspeth Shock Grin

lettingthedaysgoby yay I'm not a minority of one!

Pawnee that's intriguing, I hope it's not a change for the worse. Wonder who it is...

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 04/12/2018 19:22

Ive just seen that the Exec Prod is leaving.

Jumped, or pushed, I wonder? 🤔 it's not exactly been a vintage year, and it'll be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

kazzaD66 · 04/12/2018 19:25

Great to have Karen back, only Natalie gets close to her in Choreography Corner! However, she should have stopped her sentence there when she said Joe's salsa was no where near as good as hers Grin

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 04/12/2018 19:25

So, a Sarah Hanes is replacing LR.

Worryingly, James has been series editor of the BBC Studios-produced format for the last two years and was series producer before that. She has previously worked on shows including Big Brother, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

Oh dear ... 😫

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 04/12/2018 19:26

Sarah James, that should have said

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 04/12/2018 22:19

Quite Greece

doublethink · 05/12/2018 00:22

Just catching up....

the black tassels on Lisa Snowden's outfit Grin
Shirley B's dance Shock amazing! Why haven't we ever seen anyone else being twirled around on their knees like that in a routine?!
And AJ on that BGT interview, bless Grin

RaelImperialAerosolKid · 05/12/2018 07:29

I keep hearing the 'not her genre' line. Craig on Sunday - Tess in an interview and now on Radio 2. Do you think the BBC are trying to tell us something?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/12/2018 08:37

I’ve just seen that the Exec Prod is leaving.

New broom then. There is so much wisdom here for her to tap into. I’m STILL waiting for Fish Week.

I’ve been pondering the changes from SCD of Yore, and I will say that the sets are a lot more interesting to look at these days. When you look back at the old ones they do look a bit like a seventies Dinner and Dance event.

So I can accept a bit of glitz in the interests of televisual appeal. What I won’t take kindly to is any soppy back story nonsense, or X factor style false jeopardy. I already have time to make supper in the time it takes them to announce the pairs in the DO.

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2018 09:03

Hmmm I HATE the Dean Martin song. well not the melody, the words , they're weirdly abusive! "Ain't that a kick in the head" Indeed [hmmm]

Did anyone notice how Zoe attempted to say that 'maybe' Ashley's lack of popularity was down to her being a prof. dancer? In ITT yesterday?

If Ash heard it she totally ignored it,she's in the Strictly let's not tell the truth mode.

Oh I Loved Karen Hardy's piss take of Joe's Joseph. Umm she'll get trouble for saying that!!!!

Nettletheelf · 05/12/2018 12:19

Mark Ramprakash did a brilliant samba to ‘I go to Rio’. I hope they don’t ruin it on Saturday.

I’m wondering why we don’t see more famous ballroom dancers of yore on Strictly. We used to watch Come Dancing on Sunday nights in the 1980s and early 1990s, which usually included appearances by Marcus and Karen Hilton, Donnie Burns and Gaynor Fairweather and Sammy and Shirley (later Ballas!) Stopford. They were all world champions many times over.

Clawdy · 05/12/2018 12:29

Aint That A Kick In The Head is "weirdly abusive "?? Talk about paranoid over-analysis! It is just like saying some thing was so wonderful you were "knocked off your feet" or "bowled over" or "blown away " !

morningtoncrescent62 · 05/12/2018 12:33

Lisa and Brendan were my favourite couple that year. I suspect I'm in a minority.

I've always been a Brendan fan, but that year was Austin and Erin for me all the way. I loved their paso, and I was gutted when they were eliminated. And for some reason, though they weren't my favourite couple, I absolutely love Jodie and Ian's waltz from that year. It's one of my all-time top Strictly dances please don't ask me why because I couldn't tell you.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/12/2018 12:50

But Clawdy MN is the spiritual home of paranoid over-analysis! Grin

Clawdy · 05/12/2018 12:52

Myimaginarycathasfleas you are right!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/12/2018 13:13

It’s our safe space for working ourselves up into a lather over nothing at all. I feel very at home here. Wink

derxa · 05/12/2018 14:46

It’s our safe space for working ourselves up into a lather over nothing at all. Grin At least it's good natured compared to some of the frothing and lathering that goes on in some corners of MN

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2018 15:48

Well it's not being blown away is it ? it's being kicked in the head Shock I know , I know dh always says he never hears the lyrics I ALWAYS do [ Grin.

Clawdy · 05/12/2018 16:46

But it is not meant to be taken literally, any more than the other phrases are. It's showing what an effect love has on your life. As my mum used to say " Ooh, that really knocked me for six!" when something surprised her ! Or " He's a knock out!" meaning amazing.
