I honestly don't think the pros choose to shoehorn random themes into every dance, it's a production-team decision because they think that's what the public wants

Also, themes/costumes/music often get passed on to someone else if the couple that had been earmarked for them gets voted out before they use them. I wonder if the 'Irish pub' theme had been planned for Seannnnn (he's got more of a 'pub' persona than Charles), so they've bolted it onto Karen & Charles's VW instead?

Do you think that perhaps they have pre-arranged themes for each level of the competition and dole them out on a "best fit" (or perhaps "least worst fit") basis?

He might have been due a relatively 'theme free' dance, but then this utterly stupid theme became 'spare' so they were saddled with it. The more I think about it, if Seannnnn has still been in I reckon he'd have been given the 'pub' theme to keep the publicity machine well stoked ('I Put a Spell on you wasn't exactly subtle, was it!)

A couple of years ago one of the pros said something about being given a theme that had originally been intended for someone else who had since been voted off. I wish I could remember who it was and which dance.

It was interesting that someone I think it was Shirley said that they liked the fact that Stacey & Kevin danced from beginning to end of the time they went onto dance floor to the end of the music

I’m having a few revelations today. Turns out Ashley is not Kimberly Wyatt. So Ashley wasn’t actually a judge on Got to Dance after all. Sorry.
However she was a judge on Dancing on Ice. So still a ringah.
