The Haunting Of Hill House: WITH SPOILERS

I’ve just finished watching the whole series.

The other thread doesn’t have spoilers so thought I’d start one that does.

What was everyone’s thoughts on the ends? I’m a sucker for a closed ending so was pleased with the way it played out. The Dudleys scenes had me in tears, especially with the baby and Abigail.

I found it so clever/ bizarre how they were all backwards and forwards in time- nelly haunting herself, nelly and Luke’s further ghosts haunting their mother in the past

It occurred to me during one scene where Olivia sees adult Nelly on the metal table- when she had to cut the mouth stitching open... when she’s having her BNL sleep paralysis and she can’t open her mouth, it’s like when her mouth has been stitched shut after her death which is why she can’t open it (jeez did anyone understand what I just wrote??)

Anyway really enjoyed the series

I'm watching it again from the beginning. I have biscuits and tea.
Mrs Dudley is creepy

Oh I'd also love to see the reddit threads if anyone has a link

blamethewitchescat · 27/10/2018 21:31

Just watching episode 1.

Just noticed episode 6 when they are looking for nelly during the storm. The statues move ! Just before mum opens the door to the boy in the wheelchair

Samcro · 27/10/2018 22:54

not reading thread bit place marking as have 2 episodes to go

TheHobbitMum · 27/10/2018 22:59

I've just finished watching and I can't understand how people were scared shitless and I didn't find it that gripping. I kept with it thinking it would suddenly improve but I didn't find it that exciting although the storyline was very clever with the past & present interacting simultaneously.

LightastheBreeze · 28/10/2018 19:17

Marking place as on episode 6 at the moment

Frankenterfer · 28/10/2018 21:19

I'd love the Reddit link too please. Really enjoyed this, admit to crying at the end. Amusingly the bit that made me jump the most was the falling chandelier!

Lazypoolday · 29/10/2018 16:09

I didn't get the bit about them all being in the red room at one point and it being different things for all of them. Like, how? It was always locked and none of them remember going in but they do remember being inside it but didn't realise what it was?

Lepetitpiggy · 29/10/2018 19:31

I think that was it. They just thought the rooms were there and went in them. Psychological stuff or something!!

FieryGhoulie · 30/10/2018 07:01

The Tall Ghost didn't even come as a jump scare, that made it even more creepy.

I find, in horror, subtle things just being wrong, really scary.

.Great seriea, plenty of room for a second series.

differentnameforthis · 30/10/2018 09:46

plenty of room for a second series. I heard one was in the works..same house, different family.

drinkswineoutofamug · 30/10/2018 10:27

Hope so. With nelly and the Duncan's and some more back ground about the original spirits
