New thread for later xx

Personally, I think Vick should stop whinging. It just sounds bitter to me. The result wasn't an unlikely one given the dances on the night.

AppleYumYum · 23/10/2018 11:56

I think it sounds bitter, the article title makes you think she overheard them actually saying 'save Sean(n) no matter what' but she's clutching at straws there - though I wish they had got rid of Sean(n) as I hate the vibe that remains.

I do think she had great potential though and they went for eye candy over substance with Graziano.

Samcro · 23/10/2018 12:02

wow sour grapes.

PumpkinSpiceAmericanoNoSugar · 23/10/2018 12:09

When the Strictly blog introduce the three new pros I did assume that Graziano would be partnerless as he just doesn't seem to have much experience compared to Neil and Johannes. I think Vick did have a point in her not very subtle digs at him on ITT (bad choreography and difficulty learning from someone who can't speak English well). He seemed like a bit of a pain the neck too as most pros blame themselves for their celebs problems in the dance but he was pretty much blaming her that they went out because he had told her all week to straighten her legs but she didn't. areyoubeingserviced · 23/10/2018 16:26

They really need to replace Poundland Gleb aka Graziano. Johannes needs to be given a chance next year

shumway · 23/10/2018 17:08

Ashley and Pasha - Charleston - Witch Doctor by Don Lang

Lauren and AJ - Paso Doble - Poison by Nicole Scherzinger

Dr. Ranj and Janette - Jive - Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett

Charles and Karen - Jive - Time Warp by Richard O’Brien

Graeme and Oti - Cha Cha - Thriller by Michael Jackson

Joe and Dianne - Foxtrot - Youngblood by 5 Seconds of Summer

Stacey and Kevin - Tango - Doctor Who Theme

Faye and Giovanni- Theatre and Jazz- Fever by Peggy Lee

Kate and Aljaz - Rumba - Skin by Rag’n’Bone Man

Danny and Amy - American Smooth - Spirit In The Sky by Doctor and the Medics

Seann and Katya - Viennese Waltz - I Put A Spell On You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins

SoupDragon · 23/10/2018 17:11

The Monster Mash is quite slow for a jive isn't it?

PumpkinSpiceAmericanoNoSugar · 23/10/2018 17:15

I think Kate is going to find the Rumba hard. Ranj and Charles will probably both suit the Jive. I can't really picture what Faye and Giovanni will be doing, sometimes he goes a bit off piste and it doesn't work, but she's a great dancer so it might be wonderful. Everyone else will probably be their own version of middling.

Volant · 23/10/2018 17:16

I think Neil deserves a turn before Johannes. Assuming he wants to, of course.

SerenDippitty · 23/10/2018 18:16

SoupDragon I think so too.

FuzzyCustard · 23/10/2018 18:31

I'd like to see Neil as a judge (if only so he could be snarky to Snean)

OzzyMadBat · 23/10/2018 18:38

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Halloween Angry

I am so fed up of decent Halloween tracks not being picked and either ones with little link or ones that have been used already being chosen.

Off the top of my head...
werewolves of London
people are strange
black widow
heads will roll
monster
strange and beautiful
cry little sister
moon over bourbon street
don't fear the reaper
morticia gomez tango
killing moon
ole devil called love
devil in disguise
she wolf
kill of the night
female of the species
men in black
corpse bride remains of the day
lovecats for the CAT
black cat
killing moon
red right hand
my mistakes were made for you
dark waltz
come with me now
devil went down to georgia
disco inferno
scream
scream and shout
this is halloween - Joe as Jack Skellington

monster mash time warp and thriller are just so lazy and don't even get me started on Tardis

KitchenDancefloor · 23/10/2018 18:46

I bloomin can't stand Halloween week. It's been done to death (scuse the pun).

Monster Mash again? For the eleventeeth billion time? Gah.

Couldn't we at least crowbar some Foo Fighters in there with'Skin & Bones'?

xsquared · 23/10/2018 18:51

I hope this weekend’s pro dance is better than the baseball one!

FuzzyCustard · 23/10/2018 18:53

kitchen I too dislike Hallowe'en week. It's only done because it happens to roughly coincide with the time of year the programme is shown...can you image them doing "Easter Week", or "Ramadan Week" or "Remembrance Week" or "St George's Day Week"??

If you MUST have a themed week (and why?) why not change it every year for something more original?

OzzyMadBat · 23/10/2018 19:05

We've had monster mash twice before (and maybe a pro dance too?)
Thriller three times before and Time Warp twice plus time warp pro dance. 2nd time for Witch doctor and 3rd time for I put a spell on you.
I think the latter might be (n)'s demise this weekend.

OzzyMadBat · 23/10/2018 19:08

And 4th time out for Fever.
Dave Arch and co have had it easy this week Wink

xsquared · 23/10/2018 19:26

I agree with the poster who said they needed newer songs for Halloween but I suspect it may have something to do with copyright.

Other song I think they could use for Halloween
Love song for a vampire - Rumba?
Somebody’s watching me -
Danse Macabre - Viennese Waltz
Ghost town

PurpleOctober · 23/10/2018 19:44

I seem to be in the minority as I like Halloween week.

FuzzyCustard · 23/10/2018 19:48

I hate Hallowe'en, so that's probably why I hate Hallowe'en Week.

(And I insist on the apostrophe too - pedant alert - although spellcheck disagrees with me.)

YearOfYouRemember · 23/10/2018 20:01

My dh is adamant that we've watched from series one but he's wrong. And mean. I think we started when Ainsley was in it but I don't really remember for sure until I don't know when Confused. Is there anyway I can find out each series' winner then I can work it out from that. And I don't understand why the whole lot aren't available on dvd.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/10/2018 20:03

I love your list of songs, Ozzy. So many good ones in there.

KitchenDancefloor · 23/10/2018 20:11

Triple high five for fuzzy 🖐 🖐 🖐

  • hater of Hallowe'en theme week
  • hater of Hallowe’en
  • pedant

Hoo! (No woo for us)

xsquared · 23/10/2018 20:12

Yearofyouremember You can easily google the strictly winners for each year, there are probably several websites dedicated to Strictly with all the stats and of course, there's Wikipedia.

KitchenDancefloor · 23/10/2018 20:13

Ozzy where does your encyclopaedic knowledge of SCD come from?

I imagine weighty scrap books detailing the pros, celebs, dances and song choices from every year. Please don't tell me it's Wikipedia?!
