Who knew something would be less appetising than cream crackers and day-old gravy with a side order of back hair?

Final 6

Gabby - no real feelings either way from what I've seen
Dan - needs to get the boot solely for being a threatening twat although has come across well inside the house
Ryan - bit annoying and ott but there was the Roxy thing so will probably win
Sally - permanently triggering Hardeep then acting all innocent. Dislike her immensely
Nick - very chilled and interesting character, like him a lot
Kirstie - my absolute favourite by far. Love her and hope she wins

Meowstro · 08/09/2018 23:11

I am brown, if Sally said I looked too brown and I needed talc too look more ill when there's white people in the room without it, that's bloody racist! It's also offensive to suggest she use Hardeep's turban as a burn victim's bandages. You need to give your head a wobble if you don't think these were racist, offensive things. From the start Sally has been against Sally and I've thought she's had an issue with Hardeep. They are coming across as absolute bullies even if he was trying to live with. Sally made it all about her with her crocodile tears when Hardeep said he was offended.

DioneTheDiabolist · 08/09/2018 23:13

Hardeep's letter was from his mum.
Was Sally crying?Confused I didn't see any tears.

I think Ryan will win. CBB owe him. I like Gabby more after watching tonight's show.

SoleBizzz · 08/09/2018 23:14

Meow Ryan is biracial. With White people.in the room? So all Whitevoeople are racist?
I am White and have suffered racism.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 08/09/2018 23:15

I think Ryan or Dan will win. Unfortunately.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/09/2018 23:16

Meowstro - Nick didn't need talc because his head and face were covered in toilet paper. Ryan was meant to have an injured head so had toilet paper with red marks on it. Hardeep was the one who was meant to look sick.

Sally told Hardeep he was “looking too brown.”

Not cool. Nor was turbangate.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/09/2018 23:21

Dione But Hardeep assumed his letter would be from his manager not his mum. So the question is why someone with parents and two grown-up children would assume his letter from home would be from his manager?

In all his listing of what jobs he's had - chef, tv director, comedian, lawyer etc. I've never heard him mention he's a landlord with many properties in Glasgow. Seems like all his family own lots of properties managed by a firm owned by his dad. He has been taken to court for renting out substandard properties though, so maybe that's why he doesn't brag about it.

I teach and I just can't imagine asking a black pupil to put talc on their face to 'look ill' for a school play or something. It's just outrageous. Coupled with all the other little insensitivities, it was just the last straw.

I found it quite uncomfortable watching Hardeep apologise for finding it 'borderline racist' actually.

I wonder how many other people ignore or laugh off such comments every day for fear of their friends or work colleagues branding them over sensitive.

When someone with experience at the sharp end of racism tells you your comment was borderline racist the only correct response is an apology imo.

TheBubGrower · 08/09/2018 23:27

But everyone's skin loses it's colour when they're unwell though right? She was trying to make him look ill not white! I don't think she really meant anything by his skin colour. He uses the word brown to describe himself, which is why she probably used that term. And she said after that the others had put talc on too, so she wasn't just doing it because of his colouring. She was trying to include him in the game IMO. I don't think she meant any offence. And the way he goes off on one instantly is just ridiculous and immature. If he thought it could be offensive he should question it in a reasoned way / point out to her why it's offensive not storm off and blow it out of proportion

Meowstro · 08/09/2018 23:28

AnneEyhtMeyer So am I but the difference is, with me it's more visible, I'm not passable as white. When previously discussed with Hardeep, he said he has never experienced racism and he is a man who can pass as a tanned, white male so I don't believe he is the best person to comment, nor is Dan or a trump supporter (who I unfortunately love on CBB). She said he looked too brown FFS! It was make believe, just bloody believe he looks ill Confused How much more do people want to defend her over this? Hardeep expressed how he felt at the time and Sally felt her feelings were more superior.

I'm not a Hardeep fan but it is ultimate pack mentality. Ryan will defend Sally no matter what for how she stood by him throughout the whole Roxanne thing which she was lovely for but still does not excuse this.

RainySeptember · 08/09/2018 23:31

"If he thought it could be offensive he should question it in a reasoned way / point out to her why it's offensive not storm off and blow it out of proportion"

He did say it in a calm and reasoned way.

And has since apologised for overreacting, and explained why, so it's all moot now anyway.

TheBubGrower · 08/09/2018 23:32

I dont see it as bullying just because everyone in the house disagrees with him. What are they supposed to do, pretend they agree with him because other people already disagree with him and they can't agree with the "pack"? He has ostracized himself in the house by single handedly managing to offend most people in there. That's not their fault

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/09/2018 23:38

Ryan doesn't look like a "tanned white male" - that is mad. He looks like what he is. In Corrie he played someone with a white mother and black father.

I am not a Sally fan, I'm not defending her. I'm pointing out that Hardeep is a manipulative gaslighting prick.

OP posts:
TheBubGrower · 08/09/2018 23:38

I don't think it's fair for him to tarnish someone with a (borderline) racist label for something unintentional, in the same way it was wrong for Roxanne to label Ryan as a woman beater for play fighting. Roxanne said she was triggered by Ryan's actions, which if true is not really his fault. Hardeep being triggered by Sally' s unintentionally offensive comment about talc is equally not her fault

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/09/2018 23:39

And yes, everyone else in the house disliking you = it is probably your behaviour. Not pack mentality. Even the older, more tolerant people like Nick and Kirstie are telling him his behaviour is wrong.

SoleBizzz · 08/09/2018 23:40

The abuse my DS has had directed at him isn't often but it is awful when it happens. People of all skin tones.. and DS is blind. So giving a blind man that has no concept of the skin tone he has filthy looks is mental.

"I dont see it as bullying just because everyone in the house disagrees with him. "

Me neither. I see it as bullying because he's criticised when he does/says things that other people are allowed to do and say, because things he has said are misrepresented, because people believe hearsay about him when they weren't even present, because he's supposed to shut up when he objects to being told obvious bullshit.

I'm sure he's intense, superior and hard to live with but he never threatened to kill his ex (Dan) or lie to bereaved people for a living (sally) yet is given a far harder time in there than either.

Chipstick10 · 08/09/2018 23:42

Isnt Hardeep a sex pest ? He’s a creep. A tiresome pc, virtue signalling, condescending, entitled, disingenuous prick.i can watch it again now he’s gone

RainySeptember · 08/09/2018 23:45

And both Ryan's parents are white. One of his grandparents are Indian. I can't imagine he's had much experience of racism.

SoleBizzz · 08/09/2018 23:45

Of those who hold the view that disabled people shouldn't be seen in public and give DS awful long stares/filthy looks/make actual comments aren't White either.. in our experience.

"Isnt Hardeep a sex pest ? "

He was suspended for six months in 2009 after a complaint from a researcher. She declined to make it an official complaint after he apologised. I'm not sure if the details are known.
