What’s the deal with soaps having surprise weddings? Corrie did it a few weeks ago, now emmerdale. They’re such a shit idea, who wants a wedding that isn’t actually a real wedding sprung on them?

I'd love someone to invite me to a wedding on Christmas Day so I wouldn't have to cook (and I don't even like weddings). I've never heard of anyone in real life getting married on Christmas Day though.

How long exactly have Marlon and Jessie been together? Isn't it literally only about 10 weeks? What a ridiculous story. They don't even have any chemistry. Marlon's clearly going to say no. He's already had about 4 failed marriages/live in relationships. I just don't think he'd go there.

I think he’s starting to see a side to Jessie he doesn’t like on the way she treats Ellis. I suspect when billay arrives and she’s is treating him like the golden child Marlon will realise how awful She is.

It does look like a harsh comment looking back now but I stand by it. Pretending to be in a relationship with someone for your job and being a de facto mum to a child then one day buggering off, leaving her parentless, is one of the worst things I've heard someone do on that soap (with many, many other appalling examples). And is compounded by her then becoming a vicar.

That’s undercover work. That’s how it works. They befriend and get in “realtionships“ with targets in order to gather evidence. The person who caused the situation for Dawn was her scummy drug dealing dad. He did that to her. Harriet was doing her job. If she hadn’t, someone else would have. Perhaps someone who wouldn’t have been as kind to dawn for 5 years. She didn’t leave dawn parentless, her father did. Harriet couldn’t just quit her job and be a mum to dawn. It would never have been allowed before social services.

My guess is that Harriet will resume her mother role with Dawn which is a story I like and would make Harriet far less annoying than she usually is.

It’s good they're giving Harriet a storyline that doesn’t involve mooning over Cain or being interfering in other people’s relationships. I’d like to see her do some quality acting with this.

Emmerdale used to be my favourite soap but now I MN or FB while it's on.
I wish they'd lock April and Amelia in the child cupboard and Jessie with them.
