Same here @JaneJeffer

JaneJeffer · 01/10/2018 19:33

Why didn't they let Aaron see her just for a minute?

Owllwo · 01/10/2018 19:40

I found it moving until the bizarre flashforward thing. Too Hollywood for my liking.

Elderflower14 · 01/10/2018 19:41

I don't normally watch Emmerdale but switched on tonight. I lost my eldest son when he was born prematurely at 26 weeks. Floods of tears here. Wonderful acting from Dominic and Lucy..... 😪 😪 😪 😪

IStandWithPosie · 01/10/2018 19:55

I hate to say it but the flashfoward/fantasy thing was awful. Dominic is a comedy actor. He isn’t suited to such a heavy role and I just couldn’t take those scenes seriously. I think they got that wrong.

JaneJeffer · 01/10/2018 20:18

I love when they do that type of stuff. I thought it was great. The oldest girl really looked like Paddy too.

MinorRSole · 01/10/2018 21:11

I don't normally reckon to paddy, or Chas for that matter, but I think they did a really good job with the script tonight. The woods was a little much but I could see what the writers were trying to do. Incredibly sad episode

southeastdweller · 01/10/2018 21:41

The flash forward scenes were really dumb and patronising. We know what kind of parents Chas and Paddy would be to her because they've been in the show ages and we 'know' them. They're also distracting and the focus should be on what Chas and Paddy are feeling now.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 01/10/2018 21:46

I’m not sure that I’ll be able to watch the episode on catch up, I’ve seen on social media some chat about it, mostly positive.

Flowers to you @Elderflower14 btw x

LoveMySituation · 01/10/2018 21:56

Considering Lucy's twins are about a year old, it seems a bit sadistic what they've written for her. I imagine they asked her if she would do it first

bonfireheart · 01/10/2018 21:59

Lucy also had a hard time TTC which makes it all the more sad.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 01/10/2018 22:00

Dh (wisely) vetoed tonight's episode. He'd be crying more than me.
🌹For those who've lost a child.

Faith is younger than me. Fucksake.

Elderflower14 · 01/10/2018 22:10

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut
Thankyou 💐

JaneJeffer · 01/10/2018 22:31

Dominic Brunt on the flash-forwards from Digital Spy:

"They're full of love for the child so rather than it being an episode about a child dying for half an hour, which would be unwatchable, it's actually full of hope and full of little character moments. It shows their hopes and dreams for the future which means the rug being pulled out from underneath everybody at the end is even more heartbreaking – but it doesn't wallow at all. I thought that was brilliantly done."

I agree.

PrincessScarlett · 01/10/2018 22:59

So incredibly sad and it was great to see it from both parents perspectives rather than just the mum. Paddy is usually comical but he and Chas were brilliant tonight.

CatLadyToddlerMother · 01/10/2018 23:46

I was bawling at tonight’s episode. I think it was so well done.

The song that Paddy sang was sweet and Grace as a teenager looking embarrassed was actually quite realistic. I also liked how she didn’t speak only Chas and Paddy did which is realistic of their feelings now of never hearing her voice.

BolleauxtoBankers · 02/10/2018 07:10

I'm watching on catch-up. Stopped after a short while to have a little weep for my own lost babies. Chas and Paddy are spectacularly good. I get Aaron, too.
Flowers for those who need them.

bonfireheart · 02/10/2018 12:39

So brave and so well done x

MrsSteveMcDonald · 02/10/2018 15:39

A proper tearjerker

Annasgirl · 02/10/2018 15:43

Oh it was so well done... Hugs to all those who have been through this.

JaneJeffer · 02/10/2018 20:01

I cried again tonight. So well done.

I'm more convinced after tonight that Robert's going to lose Seb.

bonfireheart · 02/10/2018 21:35

Initially I wasn't convinced by chas & paddy as a couple, but really hope they stay together long term
He's always been a dad to Aaron and they're a great family unit.

PrincessScarlett · 02/10/2018 22:57

Chas having to let go of baby Grace was just heartbreaking.

JaneJeffer · 03/10/2018 14:26

If you need cheering up Grin Danny

Ledkr · 03/10/2018 14:40

Wow! That's was so sad and so well done.
My dd is a recipient of a kidney from A deceased donor so I felt very humble
