X FACTOR 2018- **SAT Sept 1st 8pm** it really IS that time of year again! There are new judges, probably a format and it's Saturday night (and the occasional Sunday) sorted until December :-)

I have just been reminded it starts this weekend- I'm in denial.

I'm not sure about the new judges. I think I will miss Nicole. Maybe not Louis. But we have a New Replacement Louis. I don't like Robbie Williams, and having his wife there might be a mistake.

So- first thread of the year. I will be back when I have had a proper look at what is happening this weekend.

And I would like to beg Louis to stop calling people twice his age (exaggeration) 'lad', 'love' and 'darlin''

As I love Louis like he is my oldest child, I'm not sure I can be that objective on this thread. But I will try. I'm enjoying XF so far and haven't watched it for years.

No. But I think he has experience through being in the industry of what drugs can do. Drugs could have ruined 1D.

I haven't watched XF in years but had to support Louis and Robbie. It's so weird watching my 2 faves from boybands of different generations on the same panel. But really proud of Louis who comes over as thoughtful, intelligent, funny and as lovely as the fans know he is.
Rob is Rob. You love him or hate him. I saw him at Rotterdam in 95 completely high mid Take That concert just messing around and how he was falling with his demons. He has come a long way.
I really felt for Louis supporting Anthony. He has done a good deed. I hope Anthony can stay clean and positive. I agree with PrimalLass that Louis has likely seen what can happen with drugs - and his peers who have taken the temptation beyond the social use of say cannabis to the harder addictions.
Louis is a good guy and I'm so happy the GP is seeing the real Louis.

I’m catching up and reading Is tread. Loving that the impression of Louis so far is positive. He’s coming over really well. I don’t have it in me to mind Robbie and Ayda either, I find them quite entertaining and I’d like to start a sweepstake on how long it is going to take for Simons face to melt off and reveal sinitta 😂

The judging panel seems poorly-balanced. Okay, Simon Cowell is a fixture, and Louis Tomlinson seems a good choice (young and empathetic, has also been through the process), but Robbie Williams and Ayda Field have added very little so far. I’d much rather see someone like Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke, women who’ve been there, but have maintained a career beyond the initial burst of fame. And what about Nicki Chapman? Knows the music industry and great with people, I thought she was great on Pop Idol.

It’s not the show it was.
Had it’s day really but they keep rolling it out.

I think a lot of us would have give nup by now, if we didn't all have the common goal of the thread to keep up awake sane. .

In a way it's a comfort that so many things about X Factor are predictable. X Factor Bingo is the best bit.

I keep forgetting to watch it. I’m quite a few episodes behind and don’t feel that bothered about catching up really. For years now, I’ve never watched the live shows only the auditions. But I’m strong pissed off with so much shown of the judges and a handful of acts for the entire show. I’d rather see act after act and less of the judges. They are getting paid to do a job and although sometimes funny, they have too much of the show focused on them. Also agree that Louis calling much older people lad etc all the time is annoying. But I feel the same about women being called girls and men, boys.
