Just seen on Instagram BA is in the Aquitaine region of France now. Pity I'm in Brittany so can't give him a wave.

Ilovelblue · 28/07/2018 09:49

On the interview he said he was in the south of France last week. Must be touring around, sampling the different regional wines

I watched it again as I was having my lunch. I don't think I must have missed more than a few seconds when I saw it live.

Flowerfan · 28/07/2018 16:34

‘Easy’ fat fingers!!

Ilovelblue · 28/07/2018 16:53

Very easy on the eye that's for sure.

When you think of all Georgie's traumatic experiences, it's not surprising how she fell for him. Not saying it's right or that there is any chemistry, but I can see how it would happen.

Ha! Someone's already resurrected Captain McClyde. Dunno if I like a Bones/Lane story, but I get my wish of "more Bones background" fulfilled!

Walkerbean16 · 28/07/2018 19:51

Oh wow. I just watched the pilot and series one in 3 days (I'd missed it before and only seen s2 onwards)

Amazing. I loved it. I bawled my eyes out in ep5 :(

Magi84 · 28/07/2018 20:22

Welcome Walkerbean. So glad you caught up with the Pilot and Series 1 as they really were great. As you have gathered most of us on here had really invested a lot of our time into following it and can maybe understand how we are feeling a bit let down with current episodes. Captain James has changed and of course we can understand it is PTSD and good acting on BA's part that he adapted to that side of it but falling into Georgie's arms seems to have been a step too.

Can't imagine there will be any more OG now so it's fanfiction that keeps us all in the bubble😐

Magi84 · 28/07/2018 20:24

Obviously should read "too far".

eejittwo · 29/07/2018 06:24

Georgie shouldn't listen to Maisie's 'advice', it is so wrong. First, on the evidence we have seen, Maisie has fancied, but never really loved (though she's maybe getting there with Rab), far less lost. She really doesn't understand any of what Georgie is going through - not jut loss, but remorse for all the time she wasted when she could have been together with Elvis after he had told her why he hadn't turned up.
Second, 'moving on' is one thing Elvis would NOT have wanted. Remember that conversation at the FOB? 'What's your problem?' 'You know what the problem is. You, with anyone else!" Not the words of a man who is looking down from his cloud, benignly smiling on the love of his life snogging his best friend!

eejittwo · 29/07/2018 07:54

PS - Georgie has a very poor track record when it comes to advice from other females. Remember that bath scene with Marie. 'Leave the army, marry Jamie, be happy. Don't phone that twat back' - none of which she should have paid any attention to.
And that phone call from Molly is yet further evidence that Elvis need not have died to have left the series ...

PPS - and does Maisie realise that it is CJ she is encouraging Georgie to move on to?????

Ilovelblue · 29/07/2018 08:33

Re Maisie's inexperienced 'advice', remember the way she got involved with Thara in Nepal and how she told her she could become Prime Minister! She should keep her thoughts to herself. You're right that she has no concept really of what Georgie has been through.

I miss Elvis (though the new SF guy is a real character) and agree he needn't have been killed off. I still have his photo on my phone screensaver.

Morning all! Well the wind and rain have finally set in which is great because it is desperately needed but not so great for DD who is competing at an outdoor event this afternoon. Mind you she's recently had to compete in searing temperatures and says rain is preferable - the wind doesn't help though!

Walkerbean I'm so glad you went back and had a look at series 1. You can see why we've all been so invested and why we wax lyrical about that series and CJ and Molly. I've also watched it again in the last week and started listening to the soundtrack. For a while it succeeds in removing all thoughts of CJ and Georgie from my mind.

Yes to everyone else's comments. I love Maisie and at times she seems the only one with a bit of gumption but good advice is not up there at the top of her list of talents and certainly not as far as Georgie is concerned. eejit I always reckoned Marie's advice was motivated by jealousy. Actually, Georgie's decision to give in to the CJ situation only reinforces the fact she's not thinking straight. "I'm tired of fighting it!" actually, she's pretty tired of everything and who wouldn't be given the long list of events which have preceded it. And yes, Elvis RIP would not be happy about it. I reckon he would have knocked CJ's block off if he'd had the chance.

Despite our gripes about this series I really would like to see another series as I don't want it to end with the memory of CJ and Georgie getting together like this because we all agree it's not right and probably can't last as neither of them are in a good place. I'd like to see this played out properly to its conclusion so that whatever happens in the end is seen as a rational decision.

I don't think the ending of them 'apparently' jumping off a cliff needs to be taken as confirmation that all or some of them don't survive and the series is over as I reckon that could easily be voided by replaying the final scene at the start of the next series and showing it's a bad dream of CJ's or Georgie's and that it didn't actually happen. Maybe it simply ended when the extraction was completed and the rest is imagination gone wild!

Rhubarb01 · 29/07/2018 10:05

Oh and one other thing - eejit I don't think Maisie has any idea about Georgie and CJ, so her advice comes at entirely the wrong moment.

Rhubarb01 · 29/07/2018 10:09

Oh and yet another thing - I watched episode 5 of series 1 last night and the restaurant scene is just so great. The chemistry and flirting between CJ and Molly is just so lovely. They are magic together!

Magi84 · 29/07/2018 10:27

Rhu like your idea of a bad dream for the ending. Maybe you could incorporate CJ and Georgie getting together being part of that bad dream too!

eejittwo · 29/07/2018 12:04

Rhu, I'm not given to fanfic, but I'm working on an idea whereby Georgie gets hit on the head (or something) during the raid in Kabul, and from about 20 minutes before the end of ep 4 is all her fevered imaginings / drifting in and out of consciousness and half-hearing voices. Jumping into the river could be the moment she wakes up.
Probably works better (given all that has happened) than Elvis walking out of the shower - and even for those of you who didn't care for Elvis, surely you want to rewind a bit too?

Rhubarb01 · 29/07/2018 12:27

I don't mind Elvis walking out of the shower at all eejit Grin

Rhubarb01 · 29/07/2018 12:28

Seriously, though, yes I could happily rewind the past 9 episodes and start again somehow. If only....

Bonnefoi · 29/07/2018 12:55

Anyone wish the BBC would just announce Lacey Turner's never returning and we could just lay the ghost of Molly to rest and stay buried in Season One?

Don't get me wrong, I'd fan girl like a lunatic if she returned but all this current plot line with C.J./G feels like it's spoils Season One. I don't think she will return and fair enough.

Another season which fixes C.J. and G not as a couple with Molly still off screen is still going to be frustrating.

To be honest, I think the series might have been better if we got to see more "home life" of all the characters.

Or even a reboot with a new main female lead or off shoot programme. I think part of the buy-in to Season One was seeing Molly grow as a character. I don't think that the Georgie character has had that sort of story arc. She was sort of fully formed from day one and the focus seemed to be too much on her love life, or lack of.

I don't know, I've never really warmed to her character but was happy to watch for CJ and 2 Section.

eejittwo · 29/07/2018 13:02

I typed that it would probably work better, not that I'd prefer it, Rhu.

Rhubarb01 · 29/07/2018 13:05

I think the problem is that there's always a long delay before any word on a new series. We waited about eight months for confirmation of series 2 and then it was over a year before it appeared. I suppose it depends on lots of factors. In a way it's easier if someone announces it's definitely the last series. At least then you are expecting a proper ending and the conclusion of everyone's stories.

Ilovelblue · 29/07/2018 19:27

eejit and Rhu - I had to smile to myself when I thought about Elvis looking down and realising Georgie and CJ had got together. He would be there on his fluffy white cloud, gripping his harp..... and suddenly, his white shroud would be ripped off revealing his uniform underneath and the harp would miraculously turn into an RPG which would be aimed right at CJ's head!

Hi there Walkerbean. I agree with everything that has been said about the magic of series 1. Hope you'll join in with our witterings and musings now you've found us.
