Hotel Inspector spoilt brat

Did anyone else see the Hotel Inspector last night ?
It was from the Horse and Hound in Hawick

Dad had bought the Inn for his Daughter to run and sent her off to Ballymaloe cookery school where she met her husband

Alex Polizzi was asked by the father to come along and help however DD did not come across at all well still n her onesie and more interested in her horses than running a profitable business

I would have been furious having been asked to come and help to then find that attitude

You cannot help someone not prepared to help themselves

The father was a fool to buy this young woman an inn when she had no experience and even less interest in the hard work involved or, it appeared, any work.

He obviously wanted Alex to train them and save them making the effort themselves. It's astonishing how people still don't realise what hard graft is involved in this kind of business.

FrozenMargarita17 · 20/06/2018 08:50

Yeah they were stupid to refuse help but they didn't seem that interested in doing well!!

Lottapianos · 20/06/2018 08:54

I was looking forward to seeing how it all played out. Adult daughter seemed to be behaving like a child and dad just seemed bonkers. All the dogs in the breakfast room! I like dogs but not kicking off my plate thank you

The other woman who she helped in Cambridge was so lovely

billysboy · 20/06/2018 09:31

Dad was foolish indeed Interweb says he owns a photo company in Notting Hill so he must have some business acumen

The dd just seemed to go along with the idea going off to the cookery school in Ireland for 3 months and then taking the pub on

Think the both of them need a touch of reality , Alex does not mince her words Trip advisor reviews are insightful

In contrast what a charming lady in Cambridge

The kangaroo onsie said it all really. Little girl plays hotels Hmm

Merryoldgoat · 20/06/2018 11:21

I’m watching now on catch up - they all seemed like they weren’t ‘all there’ - what a bizarre thing to do?! Buy something like that for that ludicrously young couple... just... odd!

I love Alex - I feel like there should be a drinking game where you drink each time she says ‘fuck’.

Lottapianos · 20/06/2018 11:36

'I love Alex'

Me too! I feel like I learn loads from watching her. She's good fun, very fair, enthusiastic and very supportive but also very direct and doesn't take any shit. My kind of woman

anotherangel2 · 20/06/2018 11:38

I feel I need to watch this now.

Neolara · 20/06/2018 11:39

They probably choose the hotels based on which owners will make good TV. Much more fun to focus on someone who doesn't want to do anything than someone who actually wants to take Alex's advice.

BarefootMe · 20/06/2018 14:04

I felt an unreasonable surge of outrage that these idiot amateurs who cannot give a toss, have the audacity to take money from people for a 'service' that they have no idea how to deliver, and no interest in doing anyway. I have always felt that Brits are the very worst at hospitality work, and this spoilt brat of a daughter exemplified the very worst of it. She couldn't give a stuff about Alex's experience at her hotel and was so rude I thought, not even thanking her for travelling all the way to Scotland from London in order to help them. What a charmless individual.

MrsJayy · 20/06/2018 14:24

She was a total arse but there was something underlying and I couldn't put my finger on it she looked totally mortified about the whole thing i don't think it was just a case of spoiled brat that onsie and the dogs mooching about though Shock Alex was very kind considering.

MrsJayy · 20/06/2018 14:27

The cambridge woman was lovely a bit over emotional about her blue duvet covers but lovely. I can't believe they went to an agency forhelp changing the name the tennison was the obvious name.

longwayoff · 20/06/2018 14:30

Revolting entitled brat. Good luck husband and dad, I think you'll be needing it.

Merryoldgoat · 20/06/2018 15:41

@Barefootme

I know! I was so angry and it’s literally NOTHING to do with me.

I can’t bear to watch wilful stupidity I suppose.

BlancheM · 20/06/2018 15:59

God it was so....odd wasn't it. One big tumbleweed moment, especially when they were all sat down and she looked blank and kept glancing up at her dad. Poor bloke wanted to give her a kick up the backside but she was having none of it.

MrsJayy · 20/06/2018 16:07

Her blank expression was worrying there was nothing there yes it was just odd.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 20/06/2018 16:24

It was really odd.

billysboy · 20/06/2018 16:54

@barefootme

Quite agree Rosa didnt seem to have any grace or courtesy about her

She didnt seem to get that Alex was there to help , I think what she did realise is that it would involve some hard work whereas with Daddy it would normally be him spending some money , more fool him

Alex is awesome

OP posts:
MrsJayy · 20/06/2018 16:57

Do you think thats what it was Daddy expected her to work and the blank expression was just Rosa in shock Grin

MarthasGinYard · 20/06/2018 16:59

Love Alex Dharling

And her scrummy red bag

Lottapianos · 20/06/2018 17:07

'And her scrummy red bag'

I know the one you mean, it's fab. She doesn't seem to use it any more. She was using a black ruck sack last night. Standards must be slipping Wink

MrsJayy · 20/06/2018 17:12

I quite liked the rucksack Blush

MarthasGinYard · 20/06/2018 17:15

Lotta Sad

Will check out the rucksack on catch up.

longwayoff · 20/06/2018 17:15

Never. When Alex's standards slip the world will crumble. Black rucksack must be the way forward for all of us. Looking on amazon now .. .

MarthasGinYard · 20/06/2018 17:17

Still trying to track down the ruby beauty....
