Not much longer to wait out for the Nigeria episodes! Some of us are still mourning the death of Elvis.

Placemarking as I have only just started watching this series. On episode 1.

Hope you are starting with series 1 as that introduces Captain James and his character has altered a bit in subsequent series, so it is probably best if you know him from the start. Hope you enjoy it all anyway and as you will notice this is thread number 47 so you will see how it captured many of us right from the beginning.😀

Paddington I think I've dipped into the Holby thread occasionally but since your prompting, have gone back in. I can see you are a regular contributor! It all makes for pretty dire reading and I can see I am not alone in thinking the storylines are rubbish. That John Gaskell does my head in and it's a very, very long and drawn out story.

How is everyone coping with the weather? I'm not good in the heat and wish it would rain! The moorland fires are still burning not too far away and there are fire crews from all over the north and midlands assisting at the moment.

Yes it is now on Wednesday night at 9pm. Although the BBC do not have the England match they are obviously assuming they would still lose most of the audience😭

I think the heat is getting to me. Yes our Girl is tomorrow night instead of tonight because BBC have got the England match and if that was prolonged by extra time and possible penalties it would drag on until after 10pm and then you'd have to allow for them to discuss it endlessly and then-presumably a bit late for Our Girl.

So just take no notice of the drivel I wrote in earlier post!

Wish I'd never mentioned the word football - the whole tournament has obviously addled my brain. My only excuse is I have one husband two sons, one son-in-law and three grandsons who ALL play and watch football. Surrounded.

Yes TG has got us all in a tizz about CJ at the moment. Just read another bit in a TV mag and wish I hadn't it appears to get worse. Still they do say things have to get worse before they get better so will cling to that. Roll on tomorrow.

Am now up to date . Gutted that I have to wait until tomorrow for the next episode .

I'm surprised how much say Georgie has when they are planning ops. I don't know much about the army but j wouldn't have thought that everyone can just chip in. I'm not surprised they are always getting into scrapes

Yeah captain James is different. He got a ticking off from his 'boss' for being too pally with his team.

I preferred him when he was more in charge.

Yes magi I think I have read the same article and also wishing I hadn’t! We all know marriages fail but this would be a bridge too far and so out of character for the CJ we have come to know and ‘love’.

Also I think we all agree TG is too good a writer to go down the same route 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Well, I feel quite wrung out. I'm not sure I was expecting that. I think I need to watch parts of that again to try and take it in. Glad CJ is back though not happy the way he seems to be pursuing Georgie. Never thought Bones was married. Sort of glad he's gone (not as traumatic as seeing lovely Elvis blown up). Bones was mentally unstable. Oh too much..... need to think it through.

Almost speechless. I am going to have to watch it again very soon as It all happened so quickly I didn't quite believe he was dead. Thought it might be him going back undercover in SF.

Fed up with CJ I'm afraid all this chasing of Georgie is cringemaking.

Is it wrong to have been entirely unmoved by the demise of Bones? I have to say that in my opinion he wasn't a character but a caricature. I don't know if it was they way it was written or portrayed but I just didn't care. As for him being married, well he certainly wasn't faithful was he! I'm sorry but it really didn't need the moment Georgie picked up the blood stained medals. It wasn't poignant in the least.

As for CJ, I'm very disappointed. He's behaving very unprofessionally and is in danger of being accused of harassment or stalker like behaviour if he doesn't desist in his unwanted attentions to Georgie. It's not at all funny to see a senior officer behaving in such a manner. I don't blame her for asking for a transfer. Right now I'd run a mile from such a weak-willed wally. (Gorgeous in his gym gear, mind you!). He's a relationship disaster waiting to happen

Apart from that I quite enjoyed it!
