Not much longer to wait out for the Nigeria episodes! Some of us are still mourning the death of Elvis.

Had a few giggles reading back your comments. Ventriloquist dummy rhu Grin love it!
I watched back some of this Ep this afternoon to see if it improved on a second viewing. Unfortunately, it mostly served to highlight CJ's inadequacies and other flaws in the plot. As pointed out during your commentary, I muttered almost shouted at the tv why the hell was Georgie at the briefing with CJ, Bones and the Nigerian army boss, esp when Kingy wasn't there? A Sergeant outranks a Corporal and there was no medical angle to it. Hhmm Angry
Still, I do like the way CJ delivers the line about him receiving the sword of honour instead of Bones Wink

Delphin · 15/06/2018 20:57

@eejit
"Two questions.
1 - what's the odds he's joined Bones' team, as he should have three but we only saw Spanner and Peanut? "

Too early. Fingers will only start Selection in a few months time. AFAIK, the initial phase lasts about six months (until you have secured your place), and then there's specialist training (combat medic, sniper, languages, etc.).

When Fingers started talking about Special Forces back in Kenya, I was like "Yeah, yeah, let's see." But he seems to really have sorted out himself and I think he got a promotion in the process, too. I think he and Brains are both Corporals now. They have definitely more responsibilities now than back in S1 and S2.
And he got his application endorsed by Captain James and the Higher-Ups Smile.

Delphin · 16/06/2018 07:10

BTW, I thought the series would end after this episode: Georgie being court-martialled, Fingers off to selection, Rab and Maisie off to a holiday (together, of course), Captain James sent to command the guard in South Georgia ...
Halo

Can I just say.....I love London Grammar, so thank you OG Series 1 for introducing them to me. Currently listening to them over a lovely dinner and bottle of red vino and just chilling - and it's not even the album with the tracks used in OG, but the next album. Still brilliant Smile. Happy weekend everyone!

kazzaD66 · 18/06/2018 13:20

You've probably seen it by now but, in case you haven't, the BBC have posted a great video of BA and MK on their BBC One twitter account (also retreated by BA and OG Armies).

kazzaD66 · 18/06/2018 13:21

Retweeted - blinking autocorrect!!

Flowerfan · 18/06/2018 16:37

Hi Kazza
Just seen these two videos (once or twice!!) they are great especially the CJ and MK one.
Just keeps us going between episodes doesn't it.
The more the merrier I say!

Ilovelblue · 19/06/2018 14:50

thanks for the tip off ladies. I'm not a great Twitter person. I thought the BA/MK one was lovely. It's restored my faith in BA (well, to be honest, it's CJ who I was losing faith in, not BA).

Looking forward to tonight's episode.

The football is disrupting everything. I think OG is on at 9.10 pm. I'm not a football fan. I remember years ago when the World Cup was in Japan I think and the matches were all being shown in a morning, we were given special dispensation to come in to work late (in the days before working from home was a possibility). That was because our director's son in law was in the England squad. When some of us asked if we could go home early to watch Wimbledon, he said no. It was ok for football but not for tennis. Now how's that for equality!

kazzaD66 · 19/06/2018 15:14

I had the same ilove when I used to work. Tvs were set up in conference rooms for people to go and watch the World Cup (can't remember which one, 1998 or 2002?) but those of us who couldn't stand football but love tennis were strangely not accommodated....Hmm . However, when the Wimbledon men's final between Ivanesevic and Rafter was rain delayed until the Monday, me and a like minded colleague repaired to the nearest wine bar for the afternoon to watch it. We did have our mobiles, so were contactable in an emergency Grin
Currently watching Queens Club and apprehensively eagerly awaiting the return of Murray, plus Edmund and then Evans later.
Am recording tonight's ep and will watch tomorrow, but will not have the willpower to not read the comments from others tonight! Happy viewing everyone altho maybe not so happy considering CJ is injured and in danger!

Flowerfan · 19/06/2018 16:08

Hi
I have just read next week’s radio times, not a good idea, now slightly panicking on two fronts. I advise don’t read a bit like not listening to private conversations!
Hopefully it is just to keep us interested, as if that’s necessary 😏
I really don’t think TG would do anything too drastic to his OG CJ long term fans🤞🤞or would he?

Rhubarb01 · 19/06/2018 16:48

I've read the same as you flower and i'm guessing my reaction was pretty much the same as yours Shock Hmm Confused but knowing the way blurbs try to ratchet up the suspense I've formed a view that it won't be the way it immediately sounds - I might reveal my thoughts after tonight's episode. It had better not be the way it sounds or I swear I will be tempted to give up on this altogether!

Magi84 · 19/06/2018 17:09

Oh my goodness Flower and Rhu you've got me all aquiver. Panicking slightly. I don't have the R T so maybe just as well. I hope it's just the BBC trying to keep us watching and not the ruining of our favourite character. You can see I don't know what to think now.😱

Flowerfan · 19/06/2018 17:26

Sorry folks.

However, I don’t think I could possibly give up on OG but would be devastated if anything really bad happened to CJ. I have invested so much time in the programme, actors,ff etc I won’t know what to do when it finally ends!! How sad am I 😂😃 but here’s to a HEA ending. 🍾👍

Rhubarb01 · 19/06/2018 22:15

Well apart from the obvious "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!" moment in response to CJ's words can someone explain to me the logic of leaving one medic with a severely injured casualty and sending 5 people back to get help only to then send the same 5 plus one additional officer back to the same location. No way would they have left Georgie alone with CJ there.

I'm hoping CJ is only saying he feels too attached to Georgie becaus they have gone through so much and not that he actually loves her. For goodness sake!

Bonnefoi · 19/06/2018 22:21

I’m with Rhubarb. Any Georgie/CJ/Molly love triangle and I’m going into hiding. Hmm

Magi84 · 19/06/2018 22:22

For goodness sake! Says it all Rhu. As you say no way would they have left just Georgie with him in his condition.

Info think his comments about crossing the line with her is about the whole scenario he has been through with her and Elvis right from the time when he was the one to tell her that Elvis was not turning up to marry her. Well to be honest I'm clinging to that interpretation because if it is something along the lines of him falling in love with her I will definitely call time on the whole thing.

Flowerfan · 19/06/2018 22:23

Absolutely Rhu that would be just too much. How he is going to carry on with that leg goodness knows
But this is fiction after all not fact

Ilovelblue · 19/06/2018 22:26

I had to turn away when CJ's leg got caught in that trap.

I suppose we have to remind ourselves Rhu that it was a plot device. As you say, it would never happen in real army life. I see Bones will be there to the rescue next week. No Fingers - is he on a trial with the SF as part of his training?

I really can't see that CJ is going to stay in the army after all of this. If OG does continue, I think it will be without CJ.

Flower, you're a Holby fan aren't you? Did you recognise the Brigadier as Guy Self from Holby?

We've all been on this thread because of CJ/BA. I feel quite depressed that we may fizzle out if he goes. Please tell me we'll carry on!

eejittwo · 19/06/2018 22:28

Tee hee, folks, the presence of John Michie almost makes up for the loss of Elvis - I've fancied him since his Taggart days.

Ilovelblue · 19/06/2018 22:33

I don't remember him in Taggart but I rather liked him in Coronation Street. Went off him in Holby a bit. When there were some shots of Elvis at the start of tonight's programme, I went "nooooo, you can't show these again". I've only just and so got over Elvis blowing himself up.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 19/06/2018 22:37

I expect I'll soldier on ilove - excuse the pun - because it's OG but let's face it, CJ's legs - one or the other or possibly both depending on which one continuity sticks with - must be knackered this time. What's the chances of his leg being saved a second time?

One way or another, I would guess CJ is going. They've signposted the mess he's made of everything recently. As for CJ's stunning confession for next week (It's been described as such in RT) - I'm now scratching my head. What else could he tell Georgie? Did he sabotage the wedding that never was???

eejittwo · 19/06/2018 22:39

He was DI Robbie Ross, a bit of a wide boy, who knew all the dodgy crims.

Ilovelblue · 19/06/2018 22:42

He was a dodgy character in Corrie eejit. In fact, I think his character is in prison for causing a fire and somebody died as a result.

eejittwo · 19/06/2018 22:42

Rhu - maybe it's really CJ who's Laura's father, not Elvis ....

BTW - did I remark that, in Afghan, Elvis had somehow lost the word 'Laura' from the tattoo?
