Anyone watching?
Just saw some really unusual hats.

Loved the preacher and the music. I'd go to church if I was treated to that every week.

liz70 · 19/05/2018 14:06

"He just went on and on and on and on."

Bit like you, then? Smile

Faultymain5 · 19/05/2018 14:07

Liz70
Nice one!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 14:07

The preacher was awful. You could feel the tension from Harry and Meghan coming through the screen thinking " right stfu up now "

Toomanytealights · 19/05/2018 14:09

The words and message were lovely, said in a really entertaining way. Loved it.

Whisky2014 · 19/05/2018 14:12

Yeh the preacher was too much.
Meghan and her mother look overwhelmed but meghan looks amazing!
Love all the little giggles and looks of love she shared with harry and his subtle hand stroking all throughout the ceremony...so sweet.

liz70 · 19/05/2018 14:14

Look, i thought it was a bit over long, but I think the preacher must have run over bridge's cat on the way to the service, the way they're banging on about it.Grin

bridgetoc · 19/05/2018 14:17

I don't have a cat.......Grin

liz70 · 19/05/2018 14:19

Not any more, you don't... Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 14:19

Totally inappropriate for a royal wedding Liz. The tension was palpable.

liz70 · 19/05/2018 14:21

I agree, he went on for too long. But it's hardly crime of the century.

BackforGood · 19/05/2018 14:25

Strange interpretation Greatduck, and just repeating it, doesn't make it true.
I thought the Bishop was great. Really good message for a wedding. I'm lucky enough to hear different people preach each week, so have a lot to compare to. He was fab, IMO.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 14:26

Of course it wasn't a crime. But it was a royal wedding and he shouldn't have gone on the way he did.

It wasn't about him.

Toomanytealights · 19/05/2018 14:36

Jesus they booked him. Pretty sure they'd heard him speak previously;knew how long he'd be and it had been rehearsed. Their wedding, they get to choose. Glad it was different to the usual in a a royal wedding. They're normally dull with very little feeling.

ajandjjmum · 19/05/2018 14:44

Apparently he was recommended by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and hadn't met Harry and Meghan before. Makes sense, as there was no personal content.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it was payback to all those moaning about previous sermons given by the Archbishop, which were too long!

troodiedoo · 19/05/2018 14:46

You can't put a time limit on speaking passionately from the heart. And it will be remembered for years to come! Fabulous.

Slartybartfast · 19/05/2018 15:01

Agree, it was memorable

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/05/2018 15:18

It was hilariously bonkers memorable.
I though he was shouting talking about bombs at one point, but the subtitles said it was balmsConfused

dementedma · 19/05/2018 15:43

Prize of the day should go to the outrider who managed to stay seated during the procession. He must have been shattered!

I8toys · 19/05/2018 16:29

Totally agree dementedma. He controlled it so well - it was playing up nearly the whole time. Felt for him but he handled it so well.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 16:44

Yes they booked him but that doesn't take away how uncomfortable Harry, Meghan, Camilla and the Queen looked.

It would have been better at half the time and half the drama.

BackforGood · 19/05/2018 16:49

I think you must have been watching a different thing from me. I saw Meghan and Harry smiling during the address. The Queen has that 'serious face' on every single time you see her in a service, it's just her 'resting face'.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 16:56

Harry looked uncomfortable, watch it again. Look at the guests too. Some of their faces spoke volumes.

Look at Kate's face, she looks like she's thinking wtfing hell! As does Camilla.

It would have perfect at half the time and without the cheese. A royal wedding service is not the time to try and be humorous!

SantaClauseMightWork · 19/05/2018 17:02

A royal wedding service is not the time to try and be humorous!

I looked at all the pictures and, if anything, the royal family is looking thoroughly amused and happy. Smiling faces. In fact, at one point, William looked like he wanted to throw his head back and laugh!
That's what happens at weddings. Funny, bonkers and memorable stuff. Get a life.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 17:09

No need to be rude Smile
