Anyone watching?
Just saw some really unusual hats.

Of course a wedding address allows space to bit a little humorous!
I agree with you Santa - I think they all look happy (except Queen, who always has a serious face on in any service / ceremony).

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/05/2018 17:14

I must have missed the "humour" at all the other royal weddings that was slotted in amongst the pomp and pageantry.

That's the point and that's why is was so wonderful to see it at Harry and Meghan's wedding today. Smile

I totally loved the fact it wasn't a normal royal wedding (=that preacher). Normal royal weddings are dull as fuck.

SalemBlackCat · 20/05/2018 15:41

I thought the preacher was sweet and funny, and there seemed to be some good-natured laughs from the guests. Yes, he went on for quite a bit longer than he should have, but neither Harry nor Meghan looked uncomfortable or awkward about it, they both seemed to enjoy the sermon. About time there was something not so staid, miserable and stuffy at a royal wedding, a wedding which is supposed to be a jolly occasion, not having the atmosphere of a funeral, as William and Kate's did. And the choir afterwards sang so beautifully. It was one of the loveliest weddings I have seen.

ajandjjmum · 20/05/2018 15:57

I just felt that the sermon was not personal to the bride and groom - although I realise that the theme was relevant. I suppose as he'd not met them beforehand, it would have been difficult to personalise it.

BackforGood · 20/05/2018 22:05

Exactly Salem

whataboutbob · 21/05/2018 12:50

Elin Manahan Thomas’s rendition of Eternal Source of Light Divine by Handel was stunning.

MrsMint · 22/05/2018 07:04

The whole thing was very Hello magazine and not like a royal wedding at all. She'll be gone in eight years at most and doing the celebrity interview circuit.

@MrsMint What a horrible thing to say about anyone. Do you really hate her that much? It says more about you than her.

JaneJeffer · 22/05/2018 11:06

Isn't this a lovely photo

Raahh · 22/05/2018 12:19

It is lovely Jane . I love the colours in that room.
I think the pictures that were taken for the Queen's 90th were done in the same room? The picture of her and her grandchildren was really sweet.(I think Mia was holding her hand bag, iirc)

JaneJeffer · 22/05/2018 12:33

I've just looked that one up Raahh. It is the same room and the photo is lovely. It's like an old painting. For some reason when I googled it all the websites it was on were Spanish!

Raahh · 22/05/2018 13:19

It is a lovely picture , isn't Jane. It's very natural. Or looks it- I wonder how long it took to get it looking that natural! Grin

MrsMint · 22/05/2018 16:18

WinnersClub: just being a realist. I've screenshot this and I will remind you in 5 or 6 years when Ms Markle gets tired of her latest role...

dogsdinnerlady · 22/05/2018 17:27

Anyone else think the two pageboys' hairstyles were a bit odd? Centre parting then straight down. Apart from that I thought it was all rather lovely although not sure how Meghan's 'feminist' credentials sit with all the patriarchal symbolism of a big white wedding.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/05/2018 17:29

All very white and green (including mother of the bride and grandmother of the groom). I was wondering if the uncoordinated outfit colours.

The page boys outfits were too dour.

Get a life! Hmm. Try and focus on your own relationship and how long it will last.

The80sweregreat · 22/05/2018 18:09

I liked the pageboys outfits - no awful pantaloons.

Whitesea · 22/05/2018 18:10

I didn’t like the page boys curtain hairstyle either. I think it is ok to say that because they were young enough not to have decided that style themselves and presumably a very posh mama did.

The80sweregreat · 22/05/2018 18:14

The pageboy leaning looks like a young james Mcevoy.
Mia with that handbag is a classic photo. She looks a spirited child! I think Zara and Mike Tindall would be a bit of a laugh up the pub.

It's a lovely photo. It's the first time both George n Charlotte are smiling at the same time. I wonder what Uncle Harry had said! 😁

AntiqueSinger · 22/05/2018 18:28

That's a truly stunning photograph!Grin

I thought it was a little sad that Mia wasn't included in the wedding party - but wonder if that spirited aspect is why Smile

I found it a very moving and lovely wedding, totally not what I thought it would be Smile

The80sweregreat · 22/05/2018 19:03

I didn’t think about Mia!
Maybe they just thought it best to leave her with the nanny or grand parents!
