The first thread is almost full, so here is a new one.

I didn't manage to get to town so I have a choc-ice and a bag of Tayto. I have the cold and feel awful. Come on Albania Ireland Shamrock

Pebblespony · 12/05/2018 16:39

DH just back from junk run to the shop and also got coal for a nice fire. We've enough crap to sink a ship (including some cut price Christmas themed shortbread -bargain!)

OublietteBravo · 12/05/2018 16:52

We have our neighbours son coming round to watch Eurovision with us. His parents don’t like Eurovision, but he loves it. I think this will be the 3rd year he’s joined us. (He’s the same age as DD - they met at primary school).

Oh platypus that's not on!

I remember one year being on a motorbike rally type thing on the Isle of Skye, and insisting we watch Eurovision . I had a few converts by the end of the evening 🤗

Frogletmamma · 12/05/2018 16:58

The neighbours are coming over so we are having a huge pot of chilli and some nibbles> Will be cheering for basically any country that gives us a point this year.

HastingsLikeTheBattle · 12/05/2018 17:09

Lurker signing in, I love these threads Grin

I'm currently stuck in hospital so trying to decide whether to attempt to watch It on my phone or just read your very entertaining thread!

SneakyGremlins · 12/05/2018 17:11

Do both!

YouBetterWORK · 12/05/2018 17:24

Oven pizza, and maybe a camembert here tonight. I shan't be getting drunk as I have a breastfed DD, a glass of prosecco will do me!

Here's to the Vikings (the beards, the wind machine, the SNOW!), but I think either Israel or Cyprus will end up winning.

RedToothBrush · 12/05/2018 17:33

I am somewhere on a trip where they are not showing Eurovision and I am bereft

Can you watch online? I have in the past. Its odd watching minus Graham / Terry but still awesome.

Our oven has decided to go on the blink. This is something of an issue on the snack front (think we have solved it though).

SneakyGremlins · 12/05/2018 17:40

YouTube Stream it live Smile

RedToothBrush · 12/05/2018 18:14

Ladbrokes politics @ ladpolitics
UK are 100/1 to win tonight's #Eurovision
They are 6/4 favourites to finish last.

Pebblespony · 12/05/2018 18:18

I haven't heard the UK song. Is it any good?

Pebblespony · 12/05/2018 18:20

Just googled it. Think I'll keep my money.

MelanieCheeks · 12/05/2018 18:21

I like it! I'd say it's the best song we've sent on the last 10 years. So I'm hopeful of a good placing. But it wont win.

Pebblespony · 12/05/2018 18:30

We'll I'm from Ireland so I'd say you'll have the beating of us anyway Grin

UnimaginativeUsername · 12/05/2018 19:06

I have a bottle of German wine to accompany tonight’s Eurovision. I may have very little left once it’s over.

OublietteBravo · 12/05/2018 19:16

I have a choice of Portuguese wine, Spanish sherry, Italian prosecco, ....

OP posts:
UnimaginativeUsername · 12/05/2018 19:18

Very nice. My alternative would be German beer, or a trip to the shops. So German wine it is.

UnimaginativeUsername · 12/05/2018 19:18

Not German beer. American beer. I should really engage my brain before typing.

Pebblespony · 12/05/2018 19:23

We have some Black balzam from Riga. No idea what it is.

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2018 19:26

Evening Europe! Joining me on the chez rhubarb jury tonight are my two DD's so I'm hoping for some insightful comments from a youth perspective.

Having heard none of the songs before the semi-finals (apart from our own) I took some time to listen to a few, or at least the studio recorded versions and have to say that I really Sweden, Ireland and actually realised that Australia's song is better than it sounded on Thursday. It just goes to show what a difference performance makes. As for us, well, it wouldn't matter who we sent as we just don't have any popularity in Europe at the moment. I think it's a decent entry but my guess is somewhere in the bottom ten maybe bottom five or even...yes...last. Still, at least SuRie knows the score and doesn't seem to mind.

littlepill · 12/05/2018 19:28

What time does it start?

UnimaginativeUsername · 12/05/2018 19:29

I have not heard any of the songs yet. I wanted to have the traditional surprise Eurovision experience of my youth. Sadly the youth in this house (DS1, 17) have declined to join me in watching Eurovision.

UnimaginativeUsername · 12/05/2018 19:29

8, @littlepill
