I enjoyed it...

I thought Jeremy Clarkson was insensitive to the first contestant. Thinking he was being funny he half joked that the next contestant might have some general knowledge. Then when the woman who followed him came on he said he hoped she would do better than the last contestant. I enjoy the game, always have, but I don’t think Clarkson is the right host. Nowhere as good as Tarrant who in all the years he hosted I don’t recall anything so insensitive. As I have said I enjoy the show.

It was ok. Nothing exciting. But, Chris Tarrant being ‘replaced’ by Jeremy Clarkson, one piss head to another, not much of a difference tbh.

I watched it. I felt quite bad for the contestants as Jeremy was pretty harsh.

He's as he was on top gear. An overpaid ignorant arse that takes pleasure in trying to make himself look better by belittling others.

Such a slow format designed to use up as much time as possible on the low money.
The first two contestants were AWFUL though, they deserved a bit of chiding! Now I remember why I stopped watching it years ago.

I dislike Clarkson but didn't think he made a bad fist of it.

The contestants though! An inflated sense of their own general knowledge - the audition process must have set a low bar. Why would you enter when the chances are you're going to make a tit of yourself?

Disclaimer: that's not to disparage anyone who's not great at quizzing. It's not necessarily about intelligence. I've got a brain full of useless crap but I win pub quizzes with it. I'm rubbish at other stuff you're great at.

I thought it was funny, and showed up Chris Tarrant for the humourless annoyance that he is. I was preparing to despise Clarkson but he carried the show pretty well.

The episode suffered from the contestants all having an attack of the nerves, though

Jc didn’t seem to have any natural rapport with the contestants, although the first one was hard work. I felt the button to transfer the Monet was a bit lame. Also, although I liked the idea that you fix your second safety amount, being asked after every question was a bit repetitive.

Also, why did JC present it, who has no connection to the show (or ITV)?

Clarkson is clearly hoping for some better contestants soon.

There was a good candidate yesterday - he was like a breath of fresh air. Really, they shouldn't be guessing when they still have lifelines left.

I don't mind JC hosting but some of the contestants have really grated; especially Monday nights one. Argh! I was getting quite cross tbh

Was really conflicted as I love the quiz, but loathe Clarkson, he's a complete bigoted twat. Have resolved not to watch any of it on principle, hope it flops.

I like JC. He told a woman last night she was a total failure but she took it well. I like people who are brave enough to say what I'd like to say. I like Piers Morgan too

The contestants are appalling. Why would you go on a quiz show if you had such awful general knowledge?

I get unreasonably annoyed by people using their ask the audience lifeline for the easiest questions. Surely it is better to leave that to your last one for the hardest question? Why does nobody realise this? ARGHHHH!!!!

They may need to rename it 'You might want to be a millionaire, but you're as thick as mince so you've got no chance'.

Love it, love Clarkson but oh my God, the contestants so far . Can't believe what people don't know!!! Last contestant goes to Oxford Uni but had absolutely zero general knowledge - I could scream
