Raahh you've got pretty good recall re Alex/Zara. I believe that she changed her name so that she could trap her Dad's ? business partner? And so he wouldn't realise who she was. Or something. Zara's dad was wrongfully convicted of fraud/murder? I can't remember. I'm not helping here

Anyway the letter must be linked to "Alex" I reckon it's from the real culprit who fitted up Zara's dad

Was talking to DH about Zara and we came up with idea that she had a secret child while going thru medical school (or at end of a levels) depending on how old she is supposed to be

And that this child was adopted but had now turned 18 and so had got access to birth mother records and the letter was from this child

That she hadn't told Daniel about this child so it was a shock to her, referring to Alex cos that was her name then
