Shiny new thread.

Hopefully we will see some players return from injury in the next few weeks.

Munich/Istanbul in play this week amongst other tournaments.

Madrid week beginning the 7th (hopefully with Delpo playing)

It is a good match - difficult to call it now it’s gone into a fifth set but I think fognini seems to have the momentum now. I could very well be wrong though!

ferrier · 02/06/2018 13:12

Just remembered it would be on the ITV app Grin
What's Foggy doing wearing cap?

JaneJeffer · 02/06/2018 13:14

Oh I think we can guess Raahh

Raahh totally agree, i have no real reason to not like Pouille, I just find him fairly boring to watch.
5th set is tense both foggy and Edmund are looking nervous.

ferrier · 02/06/2018 13:45

That was a solid hold. Fingers crossed.
They should definitely shoe the conclusion of an exciting match rather than the opening of the next one.

ferrier · 02/06/2018 13:46

I'm happy Grin

JaneJeffer · 02/06/2018 13:48

The commentary regarding Fognini's mental health is a bit off.

Raahh · 02/06/2018 13:48

Well Eurosport 2 is showing the Nadal match. And they have just shown a very stupid talky bit with McEnroe. Which apparently was meant to be funny. Grin.

Did anyone just see the weird John McEnroe thing on Eurosport 2 saying that because Rafa doesn’t want a roof at RG there has been a Spanish conspiracy to delay the roof until Rafa retires - it was very odd!

Raahh · 02/06/2018 13:49

I'm glad Foggy won.

Raahh · 02/06/2018 13:50

Fizzy yes, it was utterly stupid. Mac's a Roger fan, anyway. Probably why he thinks there should be a roof .

He was also ranting about Lendl beating him at the French Open - that man holds a grudge longer than I do!

ferrier · 02/06/2018 13:57

I didn't have the commentary on. What did they say? I mean he can be a bit volatile but nothing major usually.

Some more upsets. Sharapova has absolutely hammered Pliskova and Kontaveit has just put out Kvitova 🙁

Raahh · 02/06/2018 13:57

Fizzy Grin

Raahh · 02/06/2018 13:59

Oh rubbish- I really wanted Kvitova to do well.

And I really don't want Shrieky to get too much further. Even if it means Serena winning.

Raahh · 02/06/2018 14:02

Bloody hell- I looked away for one minute, and they moved from Euro 2, to Euro 1.

Wilander is citing a match from 9 years ago as hope that someone can beat Nadal? That sounds like desperation. Grin

Rafa has started very quickly Grin

I'm glad he's won a game.

JaneJeffer · 02/06/2018 14:08

ferrier they said something along the lines that the trainer should tape up his head to keep it steady. Then after the match they said he has another side which is bonkers and other little digs here and there. I just don't like the type of language they use. They could just say he's a bit eccentric at times Grin

ferrier · 02/06/2018 14:10

Gasquet clearly needs me. It was 5-0 when I switched over to see what was happening. And then we won his service game to 0 and is now 0-30 on Nadal' s serve. I dare not look away!

ferrier · 02/06/2018 14:11

Oh Jane they're always like that. I actually had a go at one of the commentary teams on Twitter once and suddenly they started being a lot more respectful in commentary. I like to think it wasn't a coincidence.

Raahh · 02/06/2018 14:23

Phew! Richard had him rattled though.

Good for you. I'm not on Twitter because I would probably spend all day giving out to everyone. The joys of middle-age.

Raahh · 02/06/2018 14:27

I can't work twitter Grin But there have been many times during Wimbledon I have wished I did.
