Shiny new thread.

Hopefully we will see some players return from injury in the next few weeks.

Munich/Istanbul in play this week amongst other tournaments.

Madrid week beginning the 7th (hopefully with Delpo playing)

Great match.

Novak seems to be losing it a bit.

Raahh · 01/06/2018 14:06

it's back and forth for Dzumhur and Zverev, but I think this might be it.

Will have been a wake up call for Sascha. But also a bit step- first time in the 4th round .

JaneJeffer · 01/06/2018 14:09

Well done Sascha.

Raahh · 01/06/2018 14:11

I do feel for Dzumhur, and Zverev has now had two lucky escapes.

He managed to keep his cool and no racquet smashing!

Raahh · 01/06/2018 14:14

Jane He did Grin

His shorts were still quite sweaty though Grin

Grin

I had forgotten how much I dislike Djokovic during his long time in the wilderness. Then I saw his massive tantrum which I like to imagine his children were watching with equally massive eye-rolling (even though one of them is just a little baby).

I really want BA to win this now just to punish Djok for being a huge baby.

Raahh · 01/06/2018 14:50

I see he's doing all the 'trying to gee up the crowd' things again. But I wonder just how many would really like to see Bautista Agut win? I know I would. Grin

That trying to get the crowd going is really cringey......some great tennis being played though.
A break here for Bautista would be great!

Raahh · 01/06/2018 15:07

Well, Djok has the set- will see how BA does now.

Also seems to be raining .

I enjoyed the chat about the greatest racquet smashers Grin

Raahh · 01/06/2018 16:47

The Goffin/Monfils match could go the distance - unless Gael decides to check out half through of course.

Just catching up. I see Svitolina is out but Madison Keys best Osaka.

PrivateParkin · 01/06/2018 17:13

I knew I was going to put the kibosh on Svitolina! She was looking really good... but she is not a proven champion, which I overlooked. That bit of the draw looks v open now, with Ostapenko out as well.

PrivateParkin · 01/06/2018 17:13

Also, I'm a bit obsessed with how Delpo says "aviator" in that clip...

Monfils has decided to come back in this set then- looked like he'd given up earlier.

OP posts:
Raahh · 01/06/2018 18:09

Hmm Monfils is doing what he did at the end of the first set in the match he played the other day. He claimed to feel ill, looked like he was about to ditch the match. Then promptly raced through the next 3 sets. Must have messed with his opponents head. It's the side of him I really don't like .

And now it's raining .

OP posts:
ferrier · 01/06/2018 18:49

Yes. I'm not the biggest fan of Monfils. His clown act is a little put on for my liking.

Raahh · 01/06/2018 19:06

I usually like him, but the 'acts' happen quite a lot- and some times I wonder how he gets away with it.

Foggy v Kyle tomorrow morning - another early start - Foggy must have done something bad to annoy the organisers so much Smile

Rafa v Gasquet later on - not sure that Gasquet will trouble him but hopefully a good match.

Then Delpo - hope he can keep up his good form.

Now that Dimitrov is out I won’t get to see the knee kissing thing!

Zverev’s has some pretty close matches but keeps coming through - he seems to be doing well over 5 sets.

Looking forward to seeing some good tennis tomorrow.

JaneJeffer · 01/06/2018 21:47

Poor Foggy, will he ever get a lie-in.
