Just came on here to see if there was a thread. I’m still at the WTF stage! I cannot believe she has taken her kid into a place where she didn’t know whether there would be hostile people at the other end. And to be 4 hours away from medical help etc.. I’m just baffled. I cannot see the appeal.

I think she is very brave. I know I couldn't do it. I think it's fascinating. And they are with her husband/partner. She hasn't just gone somewhere at random.

She seems such a lovely woman, and very brave. I’d like to be her friend!

Where do they shop for their clothes ? Do they have to travel to a larger town?
We need a follow up programme.

I thought she did extremely well despite the heat and isolation she seemed to remain cheerful.

I was intrigued by this so I googled - apparently they have done this all before, they were featured doing EXACTLY the same thing, building the house etc, in 2013 when their daughter was 14 months old? And he had a different name then.

He was lecturing in this country in January 2018 so I presume they came back. So what is actually happening?!

Oh I see, they just come back every few months. Hmm! Oh well good luck to them they seem like nice people, but I would have liked to have known the full story from the programme.

I am shouting at the telly tonight. You would have thought that all the internet research and options could have been sorted BEFORE they landed in the country. This couple seem manic to me.

The no shoes thing is bugging me. doesn't he realise that an infected cut in those conditions could scupper every dream they have what with tropical ulcers, infection, sepsis etc.....

I thought nonna was clearly resigned to his little ways, but wonder what the woman's back story is, when they met he was living in a shed, so why didn't she turn and run!

Did these people seriously think they could rock up in a country and live on a beach / jungle and not work and get everything free
