Brilliantly funny and thought provoking, such talented scripts and great acting. The SAHM scene was fantastic. Am gutted I am already on episode 6.

Fantastic. I've just binge watched it.
Made me laugh, wince and cry.
And it took me back 20 odd years.
I really hope there'll be more.

mummabubs · 28/04/2018 19:45

Love it!! Only discovered it yesterday and am already on episode 5, they need to make more!

SofieMonde · 30/04/2018 09:40

her hubby had a face change from ep1 to 2

hansolosmum · 30/04/2018 18:52

I'm only watching this with dh as I think it's important he really understands what mothers go through in that first year. He thinks he gets it, but he doesn't

MollyCule · 30/04/2018 21:18

Just watched the first two episodes with DH. Very good. But too close to the bone for us, DD only started sleeping through a couple of months ago (she's 21 months). Might need to give a few months before we finish it!

DaisyLand · 30/04/2018 21:32

Mum of 4w old boy here. Couldn’t identify anymore right now with her :) apart from I don’t drive during the night to make him sleep (yet :))

mogloveseggs · 01/05/2018 13:40

Fantastic very true to life in the early days of parenthood. Hope there’s more!

Kraggle · 01/05/2018 13:45

I watched them last week and really enjoyed it. Especially her encounters with the neighbourhood drug dealer.

CanIBuffalo · 01/05/2018 13:57

He's my favourite character

Tigresswoods · 01/05/2018 22:03

My pet hate is cliched stuff about being a new parent. This show is brilliant though. I particularly like the dismissive baby group leader.

KaliforniaDreamz · 02/05/2018 09:35

I've watched the lot now. I hope they make more. at first i wasn't sure it was for me as my baby days are over but i love Celeste Barber so kept going and found it very moving and very realistic.

For anyone in the early days please know it does get easier and your relationship will change and adjust bit most of us get through it! xx

Anyone recognise the drug dealer - from Offspring?

Re: Adelaide i think it's just that everything is so faaaar away in Oz and Adelaide is probably more 'hick' than wherever they are (Sydney?) thus a bit naff in comparison to LA.

cheesydoesit · 02/05/2018 13:26

Yeah, just stumbled on this, it's so accurate. Very good. The drug dealer is also in Glitch, The Strange Calls and The Moodys and the woman who plays Audrey is also in Laid which used to be on Netflix, that's also worth checking out.

Tigresswoods · 07/05/2018 22:01

Finished & loved this. Hope they do a S2.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 08/05/2018 00:52

Watched the first episode tonight. I cried at the scene on the bus. SO relatable and takes me back to those awful lonely terrifying days of new motherhood.

I echo a PP - it gets easier. People who say it doesn't are wrong.

Unicornsandrainbows3 · 08/05/2018 06:52

I loved it. It is so true to life.

The actress who runs the mothers group is Noni Hazelhurst who has been in heaps of stuff and is a brilliant actress. Started life as one of the original 'playschool' presenters and is also known for her hillarious reading of 'go the F#*@' to sleep.

OpenthePickles · 09/05/2018 16:56

Just finished watching this, it's fantastic - gets all your emotions going.

DisneylandDreams · 10/05/2018 19:01

I think I devoured The Letdown in one sleepless night a couple of weeks ago - LOVED it. I started showing DD one episode (she liked Motherland) but stopped there because it was putting her off having kids! (She's only 19, and off to uni in Sept, but does want some some day!) Can't wait for S2.

Ledkr · 13/05/2018 08:57

This is really good and so honest. Especially in these days of feeling inadequate because of all the social media perfect mummy posts!

purpleviolet1 · 13/05/2018 15:06

Thanks for the thread OP I am watching it now and it's bloody hilarious Grin

Ki0612 · 15/05/2018 21:44

I loved the drug dealer scenes I used to drive my LO to sleep so often. Really hope there's a second series.

justanotheruser18 · 23/05/2018 10:51

I just started watching. Sad there's only 7 episodes. What a refreshing portrayal of motherhood. Depressingly real haha.

MissingMo · 23/05/2018 11:39

I'm on maternity so found this one day and loved it! Can't believe it's all over. Really honest and relatable.

desperatehousewife21 · 25/05/2018 20:27

On episode 2 now, hilarious! I’m past the baby stage now so watching with hindsight which is always an amazing thing!

Loved her argument with the snooty woman at the parent bay in the car park when she shouts ‘fuck’ after her and then to her baby ‘sorry sweetheart she was an arsehole’ Grin

cushioncovers · 27/05/2018 23:39

Loving it. Grin

noseoftralee · 18/07/2018 22:58

Ester was in Offspring I think - Billy’s unsuitable friend
