Brilliantly funny and thought provoking, such talented scripts and great acting. The SAHM scene was fantastic. Am gutted I am already on episode 6.

OMG started this yesterday, finished it today - gutted there is only one series, I really hope there is another

greystripedteepee · 26/04/2018 17:44

I know nothing about Australia- but what is wrong with Adelaide?

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/04/2018 18:11

Loved this ! Very funny and good characters

DamsonGin · 26/04/2018 19:14

Thank you for mentioning this the other day, I'm really enjoying it!

Mooey89 · 26/04/2018 19:16

I’m recovery from an operation and have watched this whole series in one day. I loved it.

BitOfFun · 27/04/2018 00:12

Pastabest called me- yup, this is brilliant! On episode two now. So relatable!

gigglesnpoos · 27/04/2018 00:13

@welshmist unrelated but I hope you don't always have to ask for money like a child...that would be pretty financially abusive. Yea I liked it to but it left me feeling pissed off because of how unhelpful everyone is and how I can relate to that.

LadyCassandra · 27/04/2018 00:57

I love this, we saw it here in Australia about 6 months ago.
For those who don't know, Mother's Groups are standard here, you get allocated a group by the age of your baby. Sometimes they are amazing - I know people in their 50s and 60s who are still in touch with their Mothers Group friends, and some just don't work. I had one for my 2nd baby and it was a bit weird, because we were at totally different stages of life.
It definitely makes for a hilarious comedy though!

pingoose · 27/04/2018 01:04

Absolutely loving it, within 10 minutes was texting my antenatal group friends to make sure they watch it! So well done.

BitOfFun · 27/04/2018 02:20

I'm on the equine therapy one now. It's kinda beautiful.

BitOfFun · 27/04/2018 02:22

Except now I've got to the end. OMG Shock

Right no more- BED!

user1484167681 · 27/04/2018 02:31

Came across this by chance and the punny name got me 😂 I’ve just moved across the world for my husband’s work, and have a 12 week old, and I think I cried during every episode...! Hormones, eh... such a relatable show though!

AnyFucker · 27/04/2018 03:26

.

ABC in Australia apparently have a habit of binning programmes e.g. Doctor Blake Mysteries

A bit like British shows, programmes shown on the ABC are often made as short series and will stop altogether when writers/creators/actors/whoever want to move on. I'm always reminded of "Yes, Minister/Prime Minister"which only reappeared when Jonathan Lynn and Anthony Jay felt they had something to say.

However, the programme you mentioned was suspended when Craig McLachlan, the lead actor, came under police investigation. The series may or may not be continuing on the Seven Network (without Dr Blake). However, it has been going for five series so has had a reasonable run.

DamsonGin · 27/04/2018 14:52

I've just given it a top rating on Netflix as I'd really like there to be another series!

thecraftyfox · 27/04/2018 15:30

Just watching episode 1 while cluster feeding my 1 month old. The restaurant scene when she is eating like a starved woman was pretty much what happened when I went out for my friends farewell/bon voyage meal.

goldilachs · 27/04/2018 15:30

Such a good series. One of the actresses has the funniest Instagram stream where she recreates shots of models: www.instagram.com/celestebarber/?hl=en

Sitting at home with my 15 day old first born and just watched the first episode. It left me feeling pretty tearful to be honest, just too close to the bone right now! I'm guessing funnier if you are watching with hindsight?

1moreglassplease · 27/04/2018 16:19

Love this show and especially the actress who runs the Mothers Group as she's the matriarch from A Place to Call Home which I also loved.

Got a few episodes left to watch this weekend.

Flowers for you. We all go through it but do not realise that at the time, no-one prepares you for it. It is funny and sad in hindsight.

goldilachs I've been absolutely racking my brain to think where I knew that actress from! I don't have Instagram but I've seen her stuff on facebook too and think it's ace.

TeachesOfPeaches · 27/04/2018 22:50

Just started watching and it's excellent. Much better than motherhood.

MellyPapa · 28/04/2018 12:06

Love this show.

The actress who plays Barb (school age twins and a baby) has been annoying me because I recognised her. Just realised I follow her hilarious instagram . She posts pics of herself copying celeb photos. Always gives me a giggle.

AnyFucker · 28/04/2018 19:33

Great show. Bittersweet.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 28/04/2018 19:39

I loved Barb - SAHM

I liked all of the characters actually which is unusual

Some moving moments definitely
