We all know that the writers read MN after all. Apparently it’s on at 8.30pm this eve?

I was disappointed at last nights episodes. I thought it was an anti climax after all the build up.

I found it unrealistic the way Pat just confessed all to Eileen. Pat was a nasty manipulative character, I know he grew fond of Eileen, and his weakness was his daughter, but in the end they portrayed him as almost insane.

I thought Eileen's reaction wasn't real either.

PrincessScarlett · 31/03/2018 23:02

Yes, why did Eileen go back to the cottage with Liz and Tim instead of being questioned by the police? Soap police are so useless. They will never find Phelan in the sea if they can't even be arsed to interview a key witness who was the last person to see him.

Akire · 31/03/2018 23:06

I couldn’t get over her kicking bag in water! Next week she will be driving the car with keys that went for a swim. I hope she isn’t leaving, she is good with Tim. You think she stay for Summer if no one else. How long will Billy be in rehab for? Surely it’s a week max to get our system? Or do they only put you on methodone and just give you smaller doses forever?

Tim was so good helping her out all this time, even after what she did with Anna. Hope they do find him and he gets his day in court.

Can’t get over if Tim managed to paper living room in hour why he can’t paper it back?

Summer is what 12? Why does she think she can get a job or a Aiden to like her! It’s not even a possible storyline surely. I chuckled that all factory staff are willing to leave apprently worse jobs to go back on mim wage in factory.

HollowTalk · 31/03/2018 23:33

Just watching Friday's episodes. How come it went dark within three or four seconds? Phelan walked off a few yards in broad daylight and then it was pitch black when he returned.

Spam88 · 01/04/2018 10:51

What did Phelan day that provoked Eileen to scream liar and stamp on his fingers? I didn't catch it.

Hygge · 01/04/2018 10:55

I think he said he knew where Todd was and that Todd was in trouble, so if Eileen didn't help him climb back to safety then Todd would die.

So then Eileen screamed at him and stamped on his hand until he let go.

Yorkshirebetty · 01/04/2018 10:58

Maybe he has Todd chained up in a cellar somewhere.

honeyroar · 01/04/2018 11:10

I thought it had gone dark and rainy rapidly too, it was sunny a few shots before.

Yes the rescue squad from the street were rapid! We laughed.

I'm expecting Eva to be wearing a top that says Babymomma on it next week, and still nobody will notice! Aiden has been gazing at her a bit though.

Very disappointed. Phelan could come back. I too thought it was weird Eileen was back at the house with Liz and Tim - surely Eileen would be at the station being questioned and the rental cottage being searched too? What did Eileen say to LIz about not telling him/her the half of it? I rewound but still didn't understand. Is Eileen now guilty of murder? Could Phelan sue the local council for the "rusty" broken railing?

Eileen even had a tear coming out of her eye just before Phelan made his confession - all the scenes on the harbour walkway were a mess. The insane religious I am the light and darkness ramblings were ott.

Who is looking after Summer?

thenightsky · 01/04/2018 12:14

They missed a trick in not getting Phelan to murder Todd. It would have made a far better story than that crap about Todd running away with Summer for some spurious reason I've now forgotten.

kikashi · 01/04/2018 12:22

nightskyyou are right.

ChevalierTialys · 01/04/2018 12:25

Murder of such a long standing character would have had to involve a fair bit of screen time though, and they wanted him off screen as quick as possible. It also gives them the option to bring him back in a few years when everyone has forgotten the 'incident'

kikashi · 01/04/2018 12:33

He could come back with a different head like Nick Tillsley has a few times and Ryan

Akire · 01/04/2018 13:00

Well no one can remember why Todd was supposed to go away. So would make sense for him to have bumped him off too. Will summer be leaving now? If he admitted 4 bodiesid be more inclined to think he had Todd also.

At some point midwife or health visitor will want to do a home visit right?

beargrass · 01/04/2018 15:18

But they couldn't have had him bump off Todd, because of the issues with the actor that were just sprung on the writers. They literally just wrote him out. I agree it would've made for a much better storyline though.

The Summer stuff is ridiculous. Like no one would have noticed she has no guardians and she can "just" go and live with some fandoms across the street.

kikashi · 01/04/2018 15:46

Eva is now 7 months pregnant (according to the lady who scanned her bump) . Don't think it is at all believable that no one would have noticed. I have known a number of very young women who had "concealed" pregnancies but were super skinny and so no one noticed, the babies tended to be premature but a 7month pregnant woman of Eva's build and age would bo really showing.

No forward planning seems to have been done. Eva could easily have the baby tomorrow.

supersop60 · 01/04/2018 16:44

I know the time lapse thing was a bit 'arty' but why? The action hadn't moved on at all. Eileen was still sitting on a bench, Phelan was what? messing around with the boat? and the bag kicking and limp were very poor. Lazy script writing.

Akire · 01/04/2018 19:43

I was more interested how Pat suddenly able to drive a boat into sea at night! I’m sure it’s bit different to a van.

My bet still stands of Eva having it locked pub loo/cellar

Boswellox · 01/04/2018 20:24

What's the betting that there will be a scene where Phelans' hired boat will sail off, crewed by nobody..

kikashi · 01/04/2018 22:07

Didn't surprise me that Phelan was planning to take the boat out on his own. He has special skills - remember how he was able to sharp shoot the petrol tank on Luke's car with deadly accuracy. Bargain basement James Bond or what?

Akire · 01/04/2018 22:42

Was he planing o bumping off Eileen though? He knew for like week the towers would come down. Surely he could just “price up a job” and never be seen again. Even with boat night fishing only goes him what 15h headstart before Eileen would report him missing. Unless he was going fake his own death at sea.

Clawdy · 01/04/2018 22:51

Don't think killing Eileen was ever on the cards, I think he actually loved her.

Akire · 01/04/2018 22:56

But why take her away in first place? I presume he was running away. What would happened if she refused get off boat? Seems strange when he could have just gone away for weekend and gone without making up stuff.
