The best scenes of late have featured Roy. Talking about library books or the origin of expressions somehow is more compelling than all the wild eyed over acting and nonsense involving steroids, unlikely doctors and the ghastly Summer.

Smeaton I like it, thanks, but can you please make sure Michelle, Gina and Rosie are there too! Also another vote for David to stay with Roy along with a few others. Daniel has grown on me.

Some characters are watchable with a good story and lame without one. Roy, however, is always watchable.

I know it's been said but jesus what dreadful acting school have some of them gone to, complete crap, I didn't give one fig what happened to Rana or the others, Kate is just dreadful, so bloody whiny and needy, bet she drops Rana like a hot brick as soon as she spots someone else she fancies.

Ali the doctor is creepy and sleazy as fuck, I can just see him holding them all hostage in the surgery one day until Michele admits she loves him, then BAM he'll shoot half of them anyway but unfortunately they'll all survive.

I'm always surprised by how bad the casting and acting can be in Corrie - it's not as if actors, especially ones that would bite off their arm for a steady income in a soap, are in short supply.
How do we end up with with "actors" like Maria and Sophie and their family members like Faye who keep having their contracts renewed but have no talent whatsoever and worse still - no charisma/screen presence - which characters like Steve at least have which can help gloss over their acting deficiencies.

They bring in new characters with no seeming plan for how to use them - e.g. Angie and Jude and the woefully unused Erica, Jimi Mistry etc. They cast with total lack of common sense - Ali as the most unlikey trainee GP ever, Craig Charles' disastrous "family" - did they do no scenes together with potential actresses to check for "chemistry"? I could go on all day - it just seems really strange when so much money rides on Corrie as ITV's flagship programme.

So Nicola, Seb, Eileen and Summer are all going to be living together in a 2 bed (and one living room-turned bedroom) tiny house. Who's going to be sharing a room?? There is no appropriate set up here!

DD, her partner, and several of her friends are struggling actors. I may be biased, but I think they are very good! Not one of them have ever managed to get an audition for Coronation Street.

It would make much more sense if Nicola just got a flat or house on the street if she wants to be close to Eileen, she sold hers I believe so she has the money. Agree that Gina and Dev are a completely unbelievable couple, I think he and Moira would be a great pairing, she might see him as a catch with his business's and his golf club. They are both very pretentious and snobbish so I think it would work.

Rana's mum was ridiculously wooden - I think they'd forgotten to give her a script and she was reading it from cards that someone was holding up behind the sofa...
