thenightsky I completely agree what a ridiculous storyline to "out" Robert as a roid-er. They really need to cover every real life issue don't they 😂

The dialogue in last night's episode was particularly badly written, especially the scenes with Mary and Jude. Dreadful.

Frilly I agree -Robert just had cancer - super fast recovery. They could have had fallout from that instead of mixing it in with drugs.

Jude has succumbed to the curse of the Street. He was a Marine Biologist with a gilded life in SA - the nearest he'll get to fish will be battering haddock in Dev's chippy by next week - or perhaps he can drive Tracey's flower van, now that Kirk has defected to the factory.

Fizz is such a dreadful parent - no wonder 'Ope has issues.

Half-siblings are people who share one parent but not both. They may share the same mother but different fathers (in which case they are known as uterine siblings or maternal half-brothers/half-sisters), or they may have the same father but different mothers (in which case, they are known as agnate siblings or paternal half-brothers/half-sisters.
Half sisters/brothers are not the same as full sister/brothers. But in soapland they are called sisters or brothers which is technically incorrect.
I have a brother who is the result of my mother's affair with a stranger. He is not my brother - he is my half brother. The relationship is not the same genetically as that I have with my brother. If there was no definition of half brother/sister - by all means call them brother or sister. (but there is)

It really is one issue after the next. Some old fashioned low key story lines would be good. I expect Fizz will be radicalised next and try to blow up the whole street

And I wish they'd stop flagging what's about to happen so blatantly. If you think something's bothering your son you don't - as Johnny did in the pub - adopt such an exaggerated expression of concern. And all the lingering shots of Aiden looking unhappy are just not necessary.

Does anyone remember the time David was on the roof (of the factory I think) with a rifle of some sort that I think he might have been going to shoot Gail with?

Can anybody remember why that might have been happening?

The impression I got last night was that he was just a mess, his anger was really towards Josh but he was fighting Gary, who he's also angry at for different reasons.

Josh provoked him into going too far and Gary suffered the results, but his attitude at the police station is more because he doesn't care what happens to him, rather than that he doesn't care about what he's done to Gary.

He did tell Sarah he was sorry or that he hoped Gary was okay as they put him into the police car.

Maybe this arrest will bring Martin back and the truth might come out then.

I agree with that hygge. I thought he would get into the ring and batter josh. I’m wondering if they need to write out the Gary character?

I don’t remember the gun incident but I remember him pushing Gail down the stairs.

I was really hoping he would batter Josh when he got into the ring, although I suspect that would have brought the storyline on too quickly.

They're going to want to drag this out forever now Phelan is on the run.

The gun on the roof thing was years ago now, and I think Gail was in the back garden and David was on the roof. He either had a gun or he claimed to have one but then I think they thought he was going to jump off. I just can't remember what it was all about.

Why do you feel the need to tell me to stop when I was pointing out the factual definition of what constitutes the definition of a half brother/sister as you seem to be under the delusion that they are the same as brother/sister. I merely googled to find out that information - hence the quotes
I was trying in a very polite way (to which you have replied in a rather impolite way ) to point out that what you asserted was wrong. I did apologise for derailing the thread but it was relevant in this topic as on Neighbours and Corrie soaps there is often the erroneous storyline where half-sisters are referred to as 'sisters' (like paige in neighbours for example)

Ok, MolliewithOllie, you've made your point and yes you are now derailing a thread that is supposed to be a bit of fun laced with crazed speculation about Corrie plots and characters.

It’s an entirely irrelevant point. Carla and Michelle are cousins, not sisters and this isn’t neighbours. So....

whatever difficult feelings you have towards your brother conceived in an affair are your own problem. Deal with them privately and stop visiting them on other people.

southeast I know but I suspect Jude was intended to be a marine biologist until the writers decided on this crazy storyline instead. Perhaps the Norris actor having to sadly leave at short notice threw the plans for Jude/Angie/Mary/Norris storylines in the air.

I shouldn't think Norris's house is very child friendly/safe.

Jude reminds me of Michael Palin's 'Ripping Yarns' character Eric Ostlethwaite, the most boring man in the world, who talked about shovels all day.

There were some touches of classic Coronation Street humour last night. I loved Mary's line about falling to her knees in Kwik Fit when Princess Margaret died. Also did you notice her talking about a film called The Baby about an adult kept in a playpen? It's a 1973 film and I've just seen the trailer on Youtube. - Bizarre would be an understatement. The whole film is on youtube but I think the trailer was quite enough for me!

I actually thought the humour was heavy-handed and cringey. Mary has become like a silly minor character in Last Of The Summer Wine.

blueskypink - the actor who plays Norris suddenly needed "indefinite leave" - so they wrote in a story line that Norris had gone to help Emily in Scotland look after her deaf niece (who liked Norris). So I suppose he hasn't officially left but like Emily we don't know if/when they will be back.

I wasn't sure why Mary suggested that film to Angie - does she want her to do that to Jude? We know she missed on his childhood and all that ....

I know it would me up, same with Alya's wank attempt at flirting/fluttering eyelashes which I presume they did because she can't act to save her life.

So from last night I'm guessing
A) Aiden and Pigging Eva get back together and keep their Pigging baby
B) PETER gets back on the drink
C) Something happens between Alya and Josh (I think they will hook up to make David's story less believable)
D) David gets sad and evil again (please god no)

Just watched last night's. Omg. Eva has a bigger bump than I did when I went into labour 2 weeks late As if people wouldn't have said anything.

I'd forgotten Alya and Kate existed, and couldn't think who they were when they appeared last night.
