I've watched ER for years and years and years.
Loved it, makes me laugh, makes me cry, great medical stuff , reasonably accurate if slightly OTT
I was going to give it up if baby Joe had died but still i worry if he will make it over the next few weeks
Everyone lives in dark flats, and works in a dark ER, get some lightbulbs people
but now, can't take it any more, boo hoo sob sob, everyone dies, children living in sewers, everyone dies, work in poor clinic doing your bit for community , everyone dies
WHY DO I BOTHER
so, I'm stopping watching it and moving to gray's anatomy which makes me laugh, makes me cry, silly medical stories but at least some of them end up positive
Does anyoone still enjoy ER?

Yay - welcome aboard GA is fabulous!

fishie · 08/05/2007 14:00

no, given up on er this series is just sooo dull. is gray's really any good then or just an adequate substitute?

chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:01

Haven't watched ER for sssooo long...I think when Mark Green died!!(Blimey, I can't beleiev I still remember his name...'Don't die Goose, not again'!!)

Grey's Anatomy much more entertaining!!! More bitchyness, and shagging!!

Apatosaurus · 08/05/2007 14:01

Do both!

ER. More: running about and 'on my count one two THREE'.

GA More: Sexual tension in lifts.

chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:02

Oh fishie...its wonderful! Lots of bitchyness and shagging...have I said that already

DarrellRivers · 08/05/2007 14:03

I it is a more than adequate substitute, sexy men, i luuurve denny and the vet, they have funny silly chaotic lives, it is fab, the women are attractive but believable attractive

I loved Izzy's dress at the end of the last series - so Izzy! I love the lift scenes! I just love GA

chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:04

I can't wait for Season 3 to start...am having serious withdrawal symptons...or just a bit snaggy, hard to tell!

McDreamy · 08/05/2007 14:05
Wink
chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:09

Even DH enjoys GA so it must be good! He told one of our friends (A die hard ER fan), 'its much better, like a cross between ER, Ally McBeal and Sex in the City'

If that doesn't get people watching I don't what would!

arwen · 08/05/2007 14:12

Does anyone know what the triangle thing was they were talking about in GA on sunday? It was in the first episode and they were operating on a pregnant women when the chief said they had to stop when the reached thia triangle thing. I know it has no relevance but I am interested and bothered that I missed that sentence...

McDreamy · 08/05/2007 14:13

Need more inforamtion - what operation were they doing?

chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:14

Sorry didn't see it, was at ILs house...they don't do TV! Fair enough really when you have company!

DarrellRivers · 08/05/2007 14:15

I think it was a point where they couldn't do anymore to the mother without causing harm to the baby, and also sometimes, if the woman was in DIC ie so unwell all her clotting factors were deranged , you get to a point where you cannot operate anymore, as you just can't stop the bleeding, so they just packed her and left her open, ventilated her, ie kept everything going and then corrected her clotting
never heard of it before though so any further ideas please

ash6605 · 08/05/2007 14:20

have not enjoyed this series at all, find it so wrist slashing depressing.last night i fell asleep during it thats how exiting it was.woke up just as neela and the guy whos fancied her for ages were snogging so might continue watching just to see where that goes

wish carter was still in it.

McDreamy · 08/05/2007 14:21

OMG ash for one small momnent I thought you were talking about GA

venusinfurs · 08/05/2007 14:21

Yes, thought it was only me who thought this season was terrible.
Glad all the facial hair has started to go though, although that new supposed hearthrob could do with an intro to the razor.

ash6605 · 08/05/2007 14:22

oh sorry, have only read the first post!!

chilledmama · 08/05/2007 14:23

I think I remember this from 1st time around...but itsnot a normal medical term, more a dependancy term that could be used for anything. The Chief was referreing to the surgery being like a triangle i.e. 3 sided...One side depends on the other to stand etc. I think that were worried about her blood clotting, her blood pressure and the stablility of the baby (or something like that). They had to stop before they did more damage than good beacuse the other 2 sides were being adversely effected by one.

A bit like the fire triangle we learned about in school!(Heat, Oxygen, Fuel)

Sounds good anyway

McDreamy · 08/05/2007 14:24

No sorry I still think that for the good of mumsnet I really should watch that episode again - not for me you understand

DarrellRivers · 08/05/2007 14:25

no ash i started watching it last night, and ended up turning it off. There are enough real life things to depress you without needing it in my TV watching.
That was my last ever episode, i feel like i am splitting up with a bf, i know it is for the best etc, but er has been with me for years and years
