Yes to all of that Ilove. Consider your CV heartily endorsed and put forward with massive supportWink

Ilovelblue · 11/03/2018 09:08

Apart from Rhu, all the others who would have done his PR etc seem to have dropped by the wayside!

Very true Ilove. I think the lengthy gap between series 1 and 2 caused a lot of the drop off. Also of course in series one everyone was heavily into the CJ/MD pairing and Georgie and Elvis took awhile to get us on board. By then a lot had lost interest. Still there are a few stalwarts and I guess when the Nigeria tour starts we will hear from a few more. All the more reason for your candidature as his agent!

I thought of eejit in particular when I read this in my Google newsfeed this morning.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5487085/SAS-kidnap-Meghan-Markle-training-session.html

I wouldn't want to trivialise any potential kidnapping but I must admit I wondered what it would be like to have Elvis kidnapping me!

Ladies - life has gone mad. I won't be able to join you tomorrow night (though I could have, on Thursday) and next week (ep 5) is impossible all week. Mega-boo!
I will have to read your comments (and add mine) later - just think of it as a delay on the line.

kazzaD66 · 13/03/2018 13:58

Just caught up with your ff rhu. Really enjoying it esp as I am still picturing BA as Darcy Colin who?! and imagining waking up next to him as he proposes Blush I know it's 1940 but how annoying if another room becomes available Grin

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 16:30

Hi Kazza thanks so much. I'm getting a bit cross with myself for not being able to update a bit quicker but the next bit of the story is a bit detailed and I'm trying to get all the pieces together properly. I think I've said it before but Colin Firth isn't entirely my dream Darcy. I really like the TV version but I think of him as an amalgamation of a few people. (Going to just add here that Richard Armitage is, in my opinion, the perfect John Thornton in North and South - there might be a little bit of RA/JT in my Mr Darcy).

It would be interesting to see BA in really good period drama - not talking about Reign here or Lark Rise to Candleford, though. OK, I'm going to throw it out to all you ladies - beyond the obvious P&P what classic role would you like to see BA play? (sorry if it sounds like an interview or essay question - I was tempted to add - please give reasons for your answer) - I'd like to see him as Captain Wentworth - strangely enough another Captain but that's an easy one. There must be better examples. Over to you!

kazzaD66 · 13/03/2018 18:33

I've probably said it before rhu when we've discussed such things on here, but RA could certainly smoulder as JT, although the final scene on the station platform takes some beating aswell. Might have watched the dvd back a few times, although not for a while. I have to say, I loved CF as Darcy and in a lot of subsequent stuff but now I think he seems to be a bit of a self righteous prig!
Now I can't get past the image of BA as Captain Wentworth Blush although I was rather partial to Rupert PJ in the tv adaption!

Magi84 · 13/03/2018 18:55

Now this is a nice idea Rhu choosing a role in period drama for BA. I must admit my immediate thought was Capt. Wentworth. Persuasion has always been my favourite JA novel. P&P a close second. Need to put my thinking cap on now for some other roles.

Ilovelblue · 13/03/2018 19:35

Don't ban me from MN for this but I preferred Thomas Hardy I think. My favourite of his novels was Tess of the D'Urbervilles but not sure BA would really be suited to Alec D'Urberville or Angel Clare?

Just finishing off a chocolate birthday cake for my friend's little boy tomorrow then will be ready for our watchalong at 9 pm.

See you later.

I studied Tess of the D'Urbs for A Level English Lit and we were shown the Polanski film with Natassja Kinski as Tess. Didn't like Angel Clare at all, thought he was wet and Alec is probably too old for BA to play at the moment? So I'm not sure he would be a good fit for either, fine novel though it is.

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 20:50

How about something from Charles Dickens? The advantage being they are incredibly long stories which require many, many episodes if you want to do them justice. I wouldn't object to a 12 part series Grin

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 20:53

Mind you, knowing how good his agency are at finding parts he'd probably get offered Uriah Heep!

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 21:00

I am starting episode 4.....now!

Ilovelblue · 13/03/2018 21:00

I'm here!

Doing the recap. Still can't get over CJ thinking she could go to Syria in five weeks time!

Georgie is swimming with all her hair in her face. Watch out jaws about!

Ilovelblue · 13/03/2018 21:01

These are the first signs of Georgie's PTSD.

Can't work out here whether it really is a journalist or whether it might be Elvis.

For God's sake Jamie, let her do breakfast (even though it doesn't look very appetising).

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 21:02

Dr Dull is shirtless AGAIN!

I bet that was really Elvis on the phone. Yummy that looks...horrible!

Flashback to Molly running around the streets hearing and seeing everything.

Is Abu/Jason really there or not?

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 21:03

We are already doing it re: breakfast.

Rhubarb01 · 13/03/2018 21:04

Here she is. Nice welcome for poor Fingers. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Ilovelblue · 13/03/2018 21:05

Fingers has made himself at home!

Total twaddle about him being useful for added security!

You do not cut weigela Grace when it's in flower!

No Elvis SAVED you Georgie!

I reckon Marie is jealous...she still wants Elvis for herself. We're sisters I'm going to stick a knife in whenever I can.

Ilovelblue · 13/03/2018 21:05

Marie twigs about Georgie and Elvis.
