How you doin?
Just finding myself so happy friends has popped up on Netflix, spending hours awake through the night with a newborn it has been a godsend.

What's your favourite episode?

I used to love watching this with my daughter. The good bits are still magic (the one not mentioned so far is the one where Phoebe makes a scary picture and gives it to Monica) but I'd forgotten the many boring ones - the monkey, and Phoebe's pregnancy for starters.

Lucydogz · 27/01/2018 15:18

it's odd that none of them, except Jennifer Anderson, seems to have had much of a post-Friends career.

DickTERFin · 27/01/2018 15:21

No, but despite the crappy bits I do still enjoy it.

Ross is a major creep but David Schwimmer has great comic timing and sort of saves him as a character.

Crinkle77 · 27/01/2018 15:37

My fave is the one where Rachel and phoebe find out about Monica and Chandler and decide play tricks on them. I also love the one with the Gladys painting

it's odd that none of them, except Jennifer Anderson, seems to have had much of a post-Friends career.

Courtney Cox was in the brilliant and underrated Cougar Town. Grown up Friends - think wine instead of coffee.

''Oh ther cow in the meadow goes moo...'

''now Grandmas a person that everyone likes....'' singing to the kids .

And you're all invited to bite me! Fave Phoebe songs andf of course the xmas one.

Forgot about the contest one ''We'll take literature!''
''Its all relative!''

and the triplets one .''Kidney stones!'' ''Come on little Chandler. CHANdlers a girl'!''

lizzlebizzle33 · 28/01/2018 08:33

"The first time I met chandler I thought he was gay, but here I am singing, on his wedding daaaay"
.... "What? It goes on to say he's probably not gay"

I love watching Friends and reading all these posts has bought such a smile to my face!!!

I watched the one with Brad Pitt in yesterday - it’s a great episode!

I also love The Routine.

I love it when crazy Eddie is living with Chandler!

Janice was a great character too! “My Bing-a-ling”

I like the episode where Chandler and Joey start loving Dr Burke and trying to be just like him and then they say he reminds them of their dad!

There are 100s of funny episodes! There’s not one episode I don’t like!

I could (and have) watch every episode over and over again!

Ross is my favourite character and Joey my least favourite....on par wirh Phoebe.

No far from it

Ideas taken from other shows, simple script that played on such obvious jokes that got repeated over and over again

What it did have was six nice looking people in a nice apartment

Eminybob · 28/01/2018 09:59

I love it when crazy Eddie is living with Chandler!

Yes! and when he moves out and Joey moves back in and him and chandler do that jumpy hug thing.

In the spin off Joey, they same actor that plays Eddie plays Joeys best friend. Bit weird, don’t know if they expected us not to notice Confused

I think that Friends was great and imo quite British in their humour, there has been absolutely nothing like it since, The Big Bang Theory is quite popular but I don’t really find it that funny at all, it has a childish feel to it and there’s now a show about Sheldon in his younger years, I haven’t watched it and I doubt I ever will seen as I’m not interested in The Big Bang.

Friends and Frasier are my 2 favourite American sitcoms by a mile!

Chandler would have laughed me into bed, if he had have been real that is, I felt that towards the end Rachel, or should I say Jennifer Aniston, really started to love herself and it was so apparent in everything she did, from the way she walked to the way she talked, and she was far too thin, Monica, however looked far better and I think it was because she was pregnant. Phoebes figure was always great, slim but healthy looking.

All in all an amazingly funny show that I’ll never tire of watching.

Without wishing to bring the thread down, it's interesting that you're talking about the women in Friends body shapes/weight and yet the ones whose weight changed more over the course of the series were the men.

Chandler's weight yo-yo'd up and down over the 10 years (made even more noticeable when binge watching) and there was definitely more Joey by the end of the series 10 than there was at the start of series 1.

Me and Dc have the lurgi ATM and so we are saying- between coughing fits- ''hello Gavin'' like Rachel says to her colleague when he comes to see her and shes pretending to be sick!

and also 'phlegm phlegm phlegm phlegm phlegm' a- la Joey talking about Janine.

we are ALWAYS quoting friends lines, amonsnt other things we watch and love.

Dc keeps saying 'I'm FINE' a -la Ross when she so isn't atm!

'Fine' and Rosses tan were on today, 2 of our faves.

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 28/03/2018 21:22

Definitely my favourite ever show. It was at the time and still is now. The only show I can watch over and over and NEVER get bored. Always make me laugh. My happy show.

Scotschic · 28/03/2018 23:33

I’m talking about the women in the thread because I’m saying they were too thin at one point rather than saying they were overweight, and yes it is bringing the thread down slightly!

My point was about looking unhealthy by being overweight than underweight, sometimes Monica looked anorexic before she was pregnant and it was awful to watch. I think it’s just the way Hollywood liked them to be.
