Is friends the best tv show ever?

Just finding myself so happy friends has popped up on Netflix, spending hours awake through the night with a newborn it has been a godsend.

What's your favourite episode?

It's my happy place TV too!
We bought the box set when our girls were early teens and watched them all in order over a few months.
They now love it as much as we do.
That was about 8 years ago and we watch at least one episode most days, it's our fail safe tv when we're all together.

My favourite ever episode is the one where everyone knows "But they don't know that we know they know we know!"

But there are so so many others that I love.

I love being able to watch any episode any time, but I do miss the days it was first shown.
Every new episode felt like an event (as a pp said) My friends and I would all get together every Thursday for dinner, wine and then Friends! It was such a part of our lives.

It'snot the best TV series ever but it was once my comfort TV in a big way.

The best episodes are, without a doubt:
The One Where No-one's Ready
The One With Phoebe's Uterus (with the quiz where the guys win the apartment)
The One With Unagi

I watched this too with my newborns! Favourite episodes have to be the spray tan one, the leather pants one and the one where Ross learns karate

Although apparantly the snowflake pc brigade are complainging it was all white stuff and no diversity, and sexist.

WOOHOOOOOOOO!! I'm a 53 year old snowflake.

(just watched/endured - with my 15 year old DD - the episode where Chandler and Joey discuss the possibility of a 3 in bed scenario - vile stuff, not funny at all)

Thank god! All I've seen recently is people slagging it off!!
It's brilliant and seen each episode millions of times ... thank you Comedy Central.... and it's my go too when there is nothing else on.

There is not a life situation that a friends quote is not appropriate. My fav is "joey doesn't share food!! "

No, it was okay but I'm glad channel 4 have stopped repeating it.

Last night I watched the one where Chandler suggests Joey use the stage name Joseph Stalin. So good.

I love it.

I love the double episode in the beach house, the one where they have the quiz and the girls lose the apartment (ooh oh he's a transponster! That's not even a WORD!

But my all time favourite is -

I rewatched all ten seasons with DS1 about five years ago, and we're now watching them again on Netflix.

This evening we're watching one of my favourite episodes:
"Fine, judge all you want to, but... Married a lesbian; Left a man at the altar; Fell in love with a gay ice dancer; Threw a girl's wooden leg in the fire; Livin' in a box!"

Ahh a Friends thread, yay! I love Friends - not so keen on the early ones but it hit its stride in season 3 and it got better and better. It is perfect comedy for me in that I still laugh at it even though I've watched most episodes 100s of times. Great cast, great scripts and yes it's dated but it's still LOL funny. I also love watching the bloopers - they all seemed to get on really well and it looked like such a fun show to be a part of. Love, love, love Friends. I can't even say which is my favourite character because they all are, it wouldn't work without even one of them.

I am watching on Netflix too.

2. The one with Phoebe's uterus
3. The one where everyone finds out

Although Ross isn't my favourite character, he has the best episodes.

The Spray tan, the leather trousers, teeth whitening. All so funny.

I dearly remember watching the last episode as it was the night before I got married and the family dinner finished early so we wouldn't miss it

I'd love it if they made more but it probably should be left.

Also Ross didn't treat Rachel very well.

@Rachie1986 there are lots of blooper clips on YouTube, you won't be disappointed. Lisa Kudrow's laugh is fantastic!!!

I love Friends, as PP said it’s the perfect comfort TV and takes me back.

I don’t have means to watch it at the moment which is sad... I got rid of the dvds when it was on e4 all the time and haven’t got Netflix

So good hearing people's favourite lines and episodes, there's so many good ones that you forget about them.

My favourite episode who’s the one where the girls lose their apartment to the boys in the quiz.

And the one where Joey is on the pyramid quiz - “paper...snow...a ghost!” Cracks me up.

But, controversially.... I think that How I Met Your another is better. Possibly because it’s a similar format but less dated. Love it.
