I'm twenty years younger than Ann and call me a prude if you like but I wouldn't want to see people simulating sex near me, I wouldn't want to hear the swearing or the crudeness either.
And as for Andrew needing to grow up he is 26! (hardly a teenager) I have sons the same age and I would be embarrassed and ashamed if any of them behaved as Andrew has especially in the presence of an older woman.
Ann might hold strong views and opinions but from what I have seen she hasn't tried to alter other people's opinions or told them they are wrong. She has only stated her own beliefs and the reasons behind them and left others to make their own minds up.

BringMeTea · 26/01/2018 18:16

Amen to no slurping under the duvets! This has been my favourite cbb for years, due in no small part to the absence of tits, frottage and screaming. I only wish C5 had broadcast more of the intelligent conversation that has undoubtedly gone on.

I am beside myself with excitement at the faces at the announcement of a triple exit, and even more excited to see Andrew and Daniel ejected. Inshallah!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/01/2018 18:25

En you are totally right, but it is pointless trying to discuss it with some people. They see what they want to see, whether or not it is actually happening.

I've asked it before r.e. Jess and will again: she can't be that thick can she???? She's 28 or 9! I'm sure she's not, but the nonsense of cucumbers/salmonella/gonorrhoea/has there been a ww3 (wtf).

The faux- naivety is starting to get on my tits srs.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/01/2018 18:30

Exactly what Bring said. Yes - it has been the lack of the sex and nudity that has made this a far more interesting CBB (and BB) than we've had for years.

And agree about the triple exit too!

Of course, it will be entirely Ann's fault. She is in charge of all nominations and all of Big Brother's decisions. She is Dr Evil.

Decoys - sadly there are people that thick.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 18:39

Decoys I have no prior knowledge of Jess at all and it's a really interesting point to be fair. I guess she could be that thick, we've seen it before, but is she? Hmm Game playing? Playing them at their own game in a double bluff?

I've got to admit that being blonde and petite of stature I've occasionally turned the tables on a misogynist and slammed down the dumb card when it's worked to my advantage. More fool them for being played.

Royalfuckup · 26/01/2018 18:48

I think Jess is actually very smart socially.

She has endeared herself with everyone in the house and her interest appears to be in getting along with people than pushing an agenda.

It’s a bit annoying that she dumbs it down the extent she does but also sad if it is that she has been socially conditioned to play up her “dumbness” in the vein of Marilyn Monroe. Disappointing if young women still play that game, or feel they have to.

Royalfuckup · 26/01/2018 18:51

That’s not to say that I think she doesn’t have an agenda, I think she definitely wants to win! But perhaps is winning by stealth and playing up her strengths ie emotional intelligence

DecoysBitch · 26/01/2018 18:53

That's what I mean. She's been a glamour model and on other reality t.v. Shows. Can't have been that sheltered from the world. If it is an act then what is the end goal? Not to look dim on t.v. Surely? Apart from that she seems quite likeable, I just don't get the reason for dumbing down.

nicenewdusters · 26/01/2018 18:53

I think Jess is dumbing down, don't know enough about her though to speculate as to why.

We played Trivial Pursuits with a sweet young man a few years ago. In all seriousness he said that he thought the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square came from Waitrose Shock Grin

Royalfuckup · 26/01/2018 19:21

I reckon the producers are gearing towards a win for one of the woman. It would be a travesty for a man to win in the year of the woman....

Ann is too old fashioned in her views so that would be a step backwards for womanhood. I personally find her the most interesting and entertaining of all of he HM, despite disagreeing with many of her views, but I doubt she will win.

I hope it’s Amanda.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 19:27

I know where you're coming from of course, but as I said above, I'm not adverse to playing them at their own game. That's on a one to one basis though and not how I'd represent myself in public.

I'm actually much more concerned about the misogynistic attitudes of men who aren't that young and who've been raised and educated in a new millennium.

picklemepopcorn · 26/01/2018 19:29

I think she lacks confidence. I think she feels safer claiming to be an idiot, rather than risking being caught out. Her vocab is pretty good.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 19:31

In the Ch5 era I think they always slant towards a win for a housemate there might be more mileage from, same as ITV promote IACGMOOH winners and have other roles lined up for them Hmmn Maybe Jess wants to promote herself as fluffy, girly and easy to work with, showing how she won't be ruffled and can be professional in the desired role?

Royalfuckup · 26/01/2018 19:32

Sorry, my post wasn’t aimed at you Enrique. Interestingly, we X-posted as I hadn’t yet read your post when I made that comment due to my slow fat fingers

I agree. The problem is misogynistic attitudes still prevailing and not women who have to find a way around it.

RavenclawRealist · 26/01/2018 19:43

I agree but I think this year they thought that might be India! Once that backfired I'm not sure they have anyone else lined up! I don't see them positiong jess like that!

I agree with jess it's a comfort thing. It's always worse I think during confrontation nominations ect, it's a coping thing IMO

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 26/01/2018 19:45

Evening PWBs

Last summer Jonny Mitchell was near enough the most hated man in the UK ...... gosh he's got lots to thank Andrew for hasn't he ? Wink

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 19:50

YY Raven about India. Shot in the Foot there.

No need for any apology Royal I'm just pontificating. Lots of cross posting.

Stila as I didn't watch Love Island or Ex on the Beach, I hadn't heard of Jonny, was he anywhere near as repulsive as Andrew? I mean generally, or was it a specific scenario with Jonny?

Fairenuff · 26/01/2018 20:02

Every time someone mentions Jonny Mitchell I get that Joni Mitchell song in my head -

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall...

Grin

And then I get reminded of it playing in the background in Love Actually where Emma Thompson is trying to pull herself together Confused

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 26/01/2018 20:06

He paired up with a really sweet girl who hadn't been interested in anyone else , and everyone wanted her to find someone and he then coupled up with someone else ,broke her heart ........although she came out of it smiling

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 26/01/2018 20:09

People were REALLY invested in it , REALLY invested !

RavenclawRealist · 26/01/2018 20:11

No even on love island he wasn't as bad as Andrew, he got in a bit of a love triangle and handled it badly as I remember, he did make some stupid comments about feminism that made me Hmm but he wasn't as bad as Andrew because at least he was always up front not hiding behind a mask like Andrew at least that's how I remember him

toldmywrath · 26/01/2018 20:12

In the interests of Jess, I Googled salmonella and cucumbers. There was an outbreak of salmonella linked to cucumbers in the United States. But no reports linking gonorrhoeal cucumber. Grin
