I've been reading Digital Spy to see how posters there are reacting to the Andrew outburst and found this thread interesting, also for anyone who didn't watch BOTS there was a clip of Ann and Andrew talking afterwards. That's included on post number 35.
forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2266205/andrew-expects-ann-to-apologise-spoiler/p1

BringMeTea · 26/01/2018 14:06

Enrique that clip is so funny. I may not like much about Ann’s world view but she can handle confrontation very well. Andrew’s midget intellect shining through. I LOVE that Ann did NOT apologize. What a nasty shite he is.

MrsJayy · 26/01/2018 14:41

I loved that clip 👏👏A Widdy. He is showing himself as the turd he is and if his mum and grandma are watching then pride shouldn't be what they are feeling.

fleshmarketclose · 26/01/2018 15:15

It was a brilliant clip, he came across so badly whilst Ann kept the upper hand the whole time. Love the contrast at the end where Ann is thoughtful and says "poor Andrew, poor old Andrew" and he goes and and calls her a "fucking witch" to an audience. Those few seconds speak volumes about them both.
Can't wait until the evictions tonight, expect the announcement that three are leaving will quieten him down a bit because he seemed to think he was staying last night but I think he will think Shourtney will be the one to stay out of the four of them.

beachcomber243 · 26/01/2018 15:25

Andrew thinks he is intellectual when he is exactly the opposite, and can charm all people with words. What he doesn't realise is that many are intelligent, some supremely intelligent, older people have lived a life and seen it all...they can see through his false persona to the vile, very unpleasant individual inside.

He's been caught out no matter how he tries to conceal himself and tries to trick others. He is vile to women and disrespects older people, uses others [ie.Shane, who like most of the others, is seeing the light], is totally attention seeking, arrogant and should slide into obscurity...now/tonight.

If he was a son/grandson of mine I would be ashamed.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 26/01/2018 15:37

Did I read correctly that Andrew has a girlfriend? If i were her I’d be mortified by his behaviour.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 15:45

From what I've seen Lloyd that was probably a bit of fake news.
Although whether or not he smashed it, who knows.

If I was related to Andrew and saw him on this, I'd probably move house and not leave a forwarding address

Agreeing here with previous comments too. Andrew. Thinks. That by.
Gesturing. And annunciating clearly. And slowly. His. Words. With their strange. Emphasis. Will persuade. People. That he is. Indeed.
Intelligent. And furthermore that he is Correct. At. All. Times.

Poor old Andrew.

I'm anticipating the moment when they find out that it's a triple eviction tonight.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 26/01/2018 15:52

This is so true. Ha ha! When you read the above you can even hear his voice!

How he got on The Apprentice is beyond me. It proves that producers stick some buffoons in, who’ll never make it to the end, for the sake of good tv.

RavenclawRealist · 26/01/2018 15:52

I have seen articles naming Andrews girlfriend so I don't think it is entirely made up! But given his behaviour in the house she has enough sense not to confirm anything and hopefully run to the nearest underground bunker before he gets out

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 15:59

When I say fake news I don't mean that she's an imaginary girlfriend, more that it's a fleeting relationship, a bit like the reality 'stars' who no sooner break up with one co-star or another than they're engaged to another one Grin

misspetite · 26/01/2018 16:44

I said it before and I will say it again- most people in Chester (of that age) are real twats!

picklemepopcorn · 26/01/2018 16:54

I'm surprised by the rage Anne's disapproval engenders.

I can't see that holding her opinions makes her a vile person, etc etc. Behaving in a nasty way, bad mouthing people, that's vile. Believing certain very old fashioned and unpopular things isn't in itself vile. Twenty years ago, her opinions were normal.

It seems to me Andrew's biggest beef is that people are moderating themselves around her, but that is their choice.

Personally, i think people protest too much. I think they have a slightly guilty conscience and don't like having to see their own actions through other people's eyes. I don't think women particularly want to live in a sexually charged environment, dressed as objects for men to desire. The presence of Anne and Maggie is allowing them not to.

futuristic1 · 26/01/2018 17:05

I feel for Andrew. He's a young man with a lot of growing up to do. I suspect when you're a good-looking, 6ft man, society generally accords you a lot of privileges that you've never had to earn. Much the same as for a beautiful young woman. People very often assume you are something more than you actually are. And often you begin to believe you are more than you are, that yo are the successful, intelligent person you 'look like'.

It's a shame Rachel Johnson went as she was the only one who could take on Ann.
Socially Ann's equal and Ann would probably have bowed to her a bit as Boris is Foreign Sec. - and Ann always has more respect for men.

Rachel was the only person Ann appeared to genuinely listen to, without seeming condescending.

It would be a shame if people think better of Ann because Andrew is a gobshite.

Ann remains the advocate of views which have no place in a civil society but she is being elevated to the role of saintly victim.

What did Abdrew and Courtney actually do other than leg wrestle?

It sounded from that clip as though Ann had witness a handjob or something?

In any case, it's clear Ann uses her nominations to isolate those she would isolate in real life - homosexuals.

Anyone have any idea what her views are on how to deal with what she would outlaw - homosexuality?

Reprogramming or just illegality and imprisonment for offending?

Shane to stay tonight - bum's rush 5 minute interviews for the other 3.

QueenLaBeefah · 26/01/2018 17:10

Ann did say (in about the second night after all the men had arrived) that what 2 consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home was fine. I don't think she would like to outlaw homosexuality at all.

MrsJayy · 26/01/2018 17:17

It wasn't leg wrestiling the were simulating a sex act . I get you don't like Annfuturistic but surely you can't excuse Andrews behaviour as a bit of growing up to do

MrsJayy · 26/01/2018 17:20

Ann doesn't want to see people simulating sex or being vulgar and she tuts and comments how Andrew over reacts is Andrews issue not Anns. she doesn't want to outlaw homosexuality at all

springtulip · 26/01/2018 17:31

remains the advocate of views which have no place in a civil society but she is being elevated to the role of saintly victim
Everyone's entitled to their views, whether we agree or not, but on the other hand, Andrews "lewd" behaviour and the way he talks about women should equally have no place in a civil society. We need more like Ann who sees the lowering of standards in society (for example Andrews behaviour) and won't accept them as the norm.

beachcomber243 · 26/01/2018 17:33

I think Ann's take on life is that she does not appreciate inappropriate open displays of a sexual nature [and talking in constant expletives] which are crude, vulgar, boorish and aimed to shock others.

She just seems to appreciate proper behaviour when in company, respect, manners and old fashioned values. She doesn't have a problem with other peoples sexuality, just how they behave in public.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 26/01/2018 17:38

Anybody ready for a clear out tonight? Bye bye boys club, which is a shame as Andrew and Shane seemed like favourites early on. Think Shane will be the survivor and I think he'll change again

user764329056 · 26/01/2018 17:41

Smash IT, why do pigs like Andrew use ‘it’ in reference to a woman? The smash bit is bad enough, but ‘it’ is just disgusting

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 17:52

I'm only commenting on Ann as she appears as a personality and not her political voting stance and from that aspect I've seen her friendship with Amanda (married to a woman) and heard her say each to their own, quite often. She's also probably a bit more fun when she relaxes than she's coming across on CBB and seems to be able to take herself less than seriously in the right setting.
www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/theatre/theatre-reviews/8956826/Ann-Widdecombe-and-Craig-Revel-Horwood-in-Snow-White-and-the-Seven-Dwarfs-Orchard-Theatre-Dartford-review.html

She just doesn't find the same things amuse her as Andrew does (using him as an example from the other end of the spectrum) I think it's a shame that the overwhelming idea is that say what you like, show what you like and behave how you like is PC but to be prudish and proper is not welcome. I don't believe she hates homosexuals but she believes that marriage should be as per the bible and not as per the state. I don't believe she dislikes seeing physical behaviour between homosexuals any more so than between heterosexuals. She could've originated the saying 'GET A ROOM' because she believes it should all be totally private and preferably all over the age of 18.

How can it be right really to say it's ok for a former man to become a real woman, for a man to have an alter ego as an OTT woman etc etc but definitely not ok for someone not to like swearing and crude talk and to just remove themself from situations where they're unhappy? Surely if anything goes then it should be fine for some people to be uncomfortable and to say so otherwise you're actually discriminating against them.

I wouldn't say she's revered as saintly at all, but from my own point of view what I've tried to do is understand where she's coming from. I think she always tries to do what she thinks is the right thing. Of course, because of her strongly held and old fashioned religious beliefs her conviction in right and proper isn't in accord with the majority and in the past her ideas of how to achieve what she thinks is the right thing, has also been out of step, but that's not the same as starting from a position of bad intent.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/01/2018 17:55

Sorry cross posted with a fair few Blush

Couldn't agree more user that way of talking about women has replaced one of my previous bete noirs, the previous chauvenist generation's references to the wife. Makes my blood boil.

areyoubeingserviced · 26/01/2018 18:03

Great post Enrique , totally agree with you

MrsJayy · 26/01/2018 18:04

Enrique you crosspost so well though Smile

nicenewdusters · 26/01/2018 18:10

Excellent post about Ann Enrique . I find her stance a little overbearing at times, but whilst I'm at the opposite end of the political spectrum to her, I'm much nearer to her than Andrew when it comes to individual's behaviour in public.

I'd find it hard to share that house with a farting, swearing man who made sly, sexist remarks. I wouldn't be as vocal as Ann, as I'd try to find a middle ground to keep the peace. But inside I'd be judging him harshly.

I agree with your earlier point Pickle that the girls can be themselves in this house with Ann etc around. It's not the usual bikini clad drunken evenings in the pool. For a house that has spoken so much about sex/gender/attraction etc, there's been a distinct lack of any of that this year - no slurping under the duvets!
