Sorry berry - I'm with Ann's "weird backward ideas on how woman should behave" on this one. Jumping into bed with Gin after saying she's a good girl over and over and she'd never act in a way that would upset her family is not how I would behave.

I think Ashly might regret her cuddles watching this back.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/01/2018 22:49

She's not racist, that's ridiculous. If you are referring to the comment about Meghan Markle then I agree it is a poor decision because of her background - her background as a fame-hungry divorced actress with a tendency to lie about her charitable works.

I don't think she's sexist or homophobic either. She has different views on feminism to me, but she isn't anti-women. Not agreeing with same sex marriage is not phobia, it is a core tenet of her religion.

Maggie has contributed nothing to the house. She is sneery too. I hope that Ann putting her up will save lovely John.

I’m no fan of Ashley, but she’s at liberty to change her mind isn’t she?

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 18/01/2018 22:49

Phew, all caught up now.
At last the true colours are showing. Am also glad to see the Andrew Show was cancelled tonight. He really is full of shit! And such a shame Dapper is no longer up for eviction. He’s such a disgusting creep! A fucking twat. His comments about Ann were vile, especially after he got her to save his nasty arse from nominations!
Ashley. No words. Hmm

berryferry · 18/01/2018 22:50

I didn't actually mean that, ann has given various other opinions about how women should live their lives.

As for Ashley? Who cares. I don't believe in "good" girls.

Ann however is the kind of person who believes a woman in a short skirt is "asking for it" so I can't understand all this support for her. She's also done ALOT of reality tv so she knows what's she's doing.

mirialis · 18/01/2018 22:51

Ann would not have moved into the majority men's room. If, on the back of task rules, she found herself in that position she would have gone straight into the diary room and told CBB to sort it out or she would leave, and they'd know she meant it. Which is an available option for all the other housemates, they just wouldn't do it.

She has some infuriating ideas but I think she of all people would be best placed to shrug it off if someone told her where to go. She is bulletproof on the insults front, which is both a real positive but also a negative in not understanding what she would see as the "fragility" of people who've not worked in the HoC all their lives when it comes to "small stuff."

She has for sure been socialised to show understanding and sympathise with men more than women.

Oh just take a look at her voting record.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/01/2018 22:59

I'm aware of her voting record thanks. I disagree with her on a lot of things but I am able to disagree with someone's opinion without hurling "ist" insults at them.

Whoever said, it could have been Malika, Ann doesn’t care is right, she lacks compassion and empathy I think, her political views have always disgusted me, she’s a typical old school Tory, i’d be happy to see her leave tomorrow

nicenewdusters · 18/01/2018 23:01

Just been reading Ann's Wikki entry. Lived with her mother who died in 2007 aged 95. Her brother was an Anglican priest, as is her nephew. As we know, no children, marriages, or relationships after one lasting 3 years in her early twenties.

So whilst she appears to have a fierce intellect, strong religious beliefs and a high-flying career in politics, I would imagine she has no hinterland by which to imagine other people's experience.

berryferry · 18/01/2018 23:01

I think you're really naive if you don't think her views are all of those -ists!

I agree with malika too, she represented the general public as an Mp and yet finds most of the general public disgusting.

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 18/01/2018 23:02

Ann is only a Catholic because she left the Church of England over the ordination of women. There's not a shred of feminism in that.

mirialis · 18/01/2018 23:03

I find Ann way more interesting than most of the HM.

SoleBizzz · 18/01/2018 23:03

sheldonesque · 18/01/2018 23:05

I don't think she lacks compassion or empathy in the house. She just doesn't suffer fools gladly.

And there are plenty of fools in there.

nicenewdusters · 18/01/2018 23:05

Ann would make a fascinating counselling session. By the same token, she would be the world's worst counsellor.

picklemepopcorn · 18/01/2018 23:06

It would be hard for her not to have internalised misogyny given her age.

She's pretty tolerant of people, just not behaviours. So she doesn't 'get' Shourtney, or Ashley, but she doesn't behave badly toward them. Her standards of morality are higher than just about everyone else's, but I can't say I prefer the others'. If I was in there, I'd rather be with Ann than them.

HelenaDove · 18/01/2018 23:06

I dont understand the big love for Ann either. If someone was posting on the Relationships that their DM or MIL was coming out with similar comments and behaving like this during get togethers they would be advised to go NC.
Its internalized misogyny.

Dappers comment though was vile. Hope its shown to Ann when she leaves.

SoleBizzz · 18/01/2018 23:07

Rav Wilding! He got married..awww

sheldonesque · 18/01/2018 23:08

And yet the general public kept voting for her to represent them.... Smile

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/01/2018 23:14

She became a Catholic because the Anglican church changed its stance on fundamental issues and she did not believe in the changes, therefore she switched to Catholicism which was more in line with her beliefs, which had not changed.

I was brought up a Catholic. I don't practise or believe. But I would be shocked if I went in to a church and there was a woman priest because it is totally alien to the way I was brought up. I wouldn't shriek in horror or demand she left or demand everyone thought the same as me, but if I was still a practising Catholic I would probably go to a different parish.

She's right - she did call it about Ashley.

FannyWisdom · 18/01/2018 23:18

Rusty is looking great.

SoleBizzz · 18/01/2018 23:32
