Waiting out for the next series of Our Girl set in Nigeria. Some of us are still mourning the passing of Elvis Harte. All discussions on Captain James and his team welcome here (as well as other things from time to time).

Thursday will be fine ilove. I am now ready for an Elvis moment and will enjoy seeing the immediate contrast between CJ series 1 and series 2. I just wish there was some Molly too...boo hoo....

Oh dear all done. I loved it. Agree.about it all seeming to tear along too quickly. Felt a sixth episode would have tied up a lot of things. However as you mentioned budgets rule. Thanks once again.

The rest have been just Our Girl really. We were lucky with OG ONE

As a huge Elvis fan, it'll be interesting to get your take on series 2. Elvis grew on me whereas you were already an LP fan before the series started I think?

I know what you mean Flower. For some reason, I had deleted episodes 1-3 from my Freeview recorder and when I put the DVD on, I kept hitting rewind rather than fast forward the time I was trying to catch up with Rhu.

Series 2 and 3 are still on my recorder, though I do have the DVDs as well!

Me too I need them as back up. I recorded OG 1 on the sky box then we had to change it and my recording was gone. So have been using the DVD (not very well) usually takes me about 5 minutes to catch up!!

And how! Actually, first time around, found it quite difficult at times when so many people were so very anti-Elvis, because I couldn't really see why - and it wasn't just LP.

I know what you mean Eejit. I could see both sides but felt the dislike for Georgie/Michelle went too far. It was always going to be different in the second series because even if Molly and CJ had been in it, they couldn't have served together so we wouldn't have witnessed the same chemistry anyway. Georgie was more experienced and I liked her (loved her Northern roots). As for Elvis, well I fell for him pretty quickly..... how could you not! I just thought the criticism for MK was largely unfounded. Having watched all three series to date, I do think the second series was quite tame and I suppose for that reason, I could understand people's comments. Series 1 will always be special. CJ has changed so much over this period of time. I do wonder what will happen next and if he will end up leaving the army altogether.

Cor! Nice work from all us OG fans to get CJ into tenth place especially as he was an A N Other choice!

eejit I was quite happy to accept Elvis into the OG family pretty much from the outset and whilst I watched all of Musketeers he was never one of my favourites on that show, so it's definitely a character thing. As for Georgie, I liked her as a character but I do think there was a lot of resentment about having to change the main character in the show. I think the same would have been said about anyone taking the role. What is interesting is that Maisie - who would be my prime contender to take over if MK leaves and there is another series, seems to have generally grown on people. I suppose she's seen as being a bit more down to earth like Molly was despite the fact that she really is just as pretty as Georgie. There doesn't seem to be the same flak flying around for her. I wonder if there could be another series after the next eight episodes and they just gradually slot in more characters - a bit like Soldier Soldier. Mind you, the BBC will have footed the bill for 23 episodes including the pilot by the time this finishes and that is a LOT for them.

The benefit for Maisie is she is not the main character, so she has can develop in Georgie's shadow.

How are we going to deal with the prequel to OG2? It's ten minutes long, so do we add it to episode 1 or view it separately?

Oooh, I'd not thought about the prequel eejit. I do have it on record - depends if Rhu has it or whether she is relying on her DVD.

It's been bitterly cold here today. Bits of sleet and snow, then lots of rain and a seriously vicious wind. It seems to have been a long winter so far. I could do with CJ or Elvis to keep me warm!

We'll see if she responds tomorrow and if not, let's just go for the first episode without the prequel.

Rhu not sure if you've got half term this week. It does seem to vary a bit so you might be otherwise occupied. I've sent you a PM too for when you've got a couple of mins to spare.

How is everyone? I thought you must all have emigrated, it's been so quiet.

Still here Ilove just really bingeing on fanfic at the moment to keep OG spirit going. Great update from jenmc and others. Will be following you Thursday evening but as you probably know by now I'm a bit of a stuck in a rut soul over series 1.

Yes, sorry a bit AWOL at the moment. It's just 'stuff' to blame.

Ready for the watchalong Thursday -eejit and ilove my view of the prequel is that it would probably be better not to include it as it might lead to small delays and difficulty in synchronising the viewing start for episode 1. I will watch it just beforehand to get the flavour and try not remember how it all ends!

ilove we've already had half term down here. Given the age of the DC's the only difference between the holidays and term-time is that they spend a week occupying their rooms instead of vacating them long enough for me to open a window for a few hours! That and a few more taxi requests.

Love your comments Rhu about DC's. Mine are pre gadget era but still disappeared int their bedrooms so nothing much has changed.
Pleased about CJ/BA in the Radio Times awards shows we are not the only fans!!
I can't seem to find any news about him at the moment obviously having a break after last year'a filming. UNLESS, or courses, any or you know differently!
