There she is 'Pen Girl'. what's the name of that horror film where the kids just pop up suddenly and make you jump.

Here's Molly's first little redeeming moment when she says something sensible and impresses CJ. Look at her little face!

Molly realises she's the target....

Smurf is hallucinating. Poor Molly fancy knowing you're the target.

.... and then loses her nerve. Be honest, who wouldn't in those circumstances?

For the first time I see this differently. It's really Molly's fault for not running sooner that causes Smurf to go so over the top, no wonder she doesn't open up to CJ in the Med Tent. Anyway he's back to being shouty pants again.

Head nod!

Molly probably thinks she's in for another rocketing.

Oh but no, it's the blisters scene! Molly refuses to be drawn over Smurf and shows loyalty. CJ has probably realised she was speaking the truth when she voiced concern over Smurf's mental attitude.

I think at this point I realised how handsome CJ was but still wasn't keen on the way he treated Molly.

Smurf has been reprimanded and is now taking it out on Molly and has got the rest of the section on his side.

Belinda clearly didn't realise chocolate wouldn't travel!

CJ knows somethings up but can't deal with. When he says no arsing around he's telling them not to mess her about It's his fault for not being very subtle in his timing of dealing with the Smurf issue.

Gosh her family are clued up about the right things to send to a serving soldier in 47 degrees of heat.

We're 40 mins in. That time has gone so quickly!

What a rotten situation to be in. Stuck in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of sexist, smelly blokes who've sent you to Coventry - which would be better than Afghanistan right now.

CJ knows they are being off with her. It's all in the eyes!

I'm glad Molly has a decent stock of pens to give to Bashira. I hope they're not army issue which she has nicked from a stationery cupboard!

Don't get me started on Kirsty's dreadful dip dyed basket creations.

Bizarrely, I don think that even Afghan villagers had seen biros before.

I remember taking loads of pens out to Luxor and Aswan in Egypt a few years ago. The kids loved them.

Let me try that sentence again - "I think that even Afghan villagers had seen biros before."

Stupid Smurf!

CJ's not sure is he. He hesitates. I'm not sure a female soldier would really say that.

Molly is so impetuous. Did we but know it at the time, this is what gets her the Military Cross.
