I feel uneasy about how the programme is enjoying presenting Shane J and Andrew - we need a portmanteau of Shane/Courtney/Andrew and I don't know why. I think it's because they seem to be being presented as sensationalist/salacious.
It's not me being homophobic because it's two men. I feel like they're being like Chandler and Joey in Friends who love the idea of Monica and Rachael kissing but then scoff at actual lesbians. I'm sure I'm the only one who feels a bit conflicted.

I like Shane/Courtney a lot and have no issue that Andrew is at least open minded. I have never heard a heterosexual man even joke about sex with another man, let alone flirt as he is doing. He seems curious,
But perhaps is just honest.

Andrew’s got the horn for Courtney fo sho, but I don’t think there’s anything else to it. Shane J will have had his fair share of straight boys giving Courtney the glad eye and will know how to handle it.

Andrew seems to be turning his attention to Malika a bit - don’t blame him, she’s gorgeous - but then he is a massive flirt, I’m not sure there is anything in that either.

Following on from my previous post, if they bang then obviously that's cool but I'm wondering if people find it more believable Andrew sees Shane as a fuck hole than that a straight man and a gay man can be pals...because of course gay men are only mates with gay men and straight ladies.

I don’t actively dislike Andrew but he is one of those good looking guys who seems to only be able to interact at the flirting level. It’s fine but I think I would personally find him a bit tedious after a while... that and the Cheshire accent which I can’t abide even though I’m from there.

Ugh, I wrote a long post and lost it...

I liked Andrew until tonight, but he is reminding me of the kind of seedy straight men who use gay men to experiment with that side of their sexuality, whilst not really confronting it. Lots of my friends have had straight men use them in this way, usually a drunken night or a blow job which is never acknowledged again, or even worse turns to out and out agression.

It doesn't really matter whether Shane/Courtney can see through him, his behaviour is really disrespectful. I get the feeling he is either doing it for attention, for airtime, or to show how cool and open minded he is. I can foresee a scenario where they do end up kissing and the next day Shane will be totally open about it, whereas Andrew will deny it or claim it was a joke. The fisting comment was gross, really inappropriate, and shows what he thinks it means to be a gay man. He is treating Shane like a toy, whilst flirting with Malika to "prove" how masculine and straight he is. It's all an act, but i'm not sure if he even knows what's the act and what's real. He is clearly very unsure of "who" is he, but that doesn't mean he can use other people to find out.

Still 600 posts behind, catching up on what everyone has been saying. I am glad you all noticed the odd audience reaction. I talk about BB on another site and they did not pick up on it at all

But..surely they would not all have obeyed like that? Especially with a character that brings out such strong emotions (of mainly rage) as India?! Hundreds of people gathered, I just cannot see not one of them breaking ranks and starting to boo.

I mean, I have disliked the mass booing and chanting (they even boo the winners these days) for a long time but controlling them like that seems really wrong now that it appears to have happened..

Also yes to extremely odd interview and lack of crowd reactions from inside. From memory, the indoor crod usually are not allowed to, or just don't boo. However its very true that when a popular persons name is mentioned they will cheer. So when Courtney/Shane was mentioned they would usually cheer a bit.

Ontop of this there is generally a horrible trend of when an unpopular housemate is being interviewed, the crowd outside start shouting 'off, off, off' and its pretty much all you can hear. I have hated this ever since it started as its so pointless and mean, so I am very glad if they have told them to chill with that. However, it will be very interesting to see if this is kept up for other housemates, given they CAN control that part of it so seeimgly easily.

No chant at all when Emma was reading out the names either. There is almost always a 'get X out'. Even if it is not even the people who are up that are being chanted.
