Was very interesting watching having already read this thread so being primed on who had said and done what... was expecting to be annoyed with Malika but wasn't and got the whats and whys of that. Was primed for Ann saying something bigoted about Megan Markel but then didn't think she did other than thinking it would not work out well in the same way it wouldn't if HRH Harry and I got together with my background and attitude (and she'd be right - "the firm" and I would not get on). She will be out once she's up for the public vote so I'm glad she's in for a bit longer.

I am not "team Ann" but I think her presence makes for a more interesting show for sure - the editor does keep focusing on her not whooping along with everyone else. I don't agree with her about there being true equality now but I think - as I said before - that when you listen to Amanda and Ann talking about what life was like for them you understand why some women of that generation are flummoxed by some cultural feminist issues these days that they simply don't understand. Ann never had children so never knew what it was like to try to have the career she did whilst having them, and said she'd have liked a family and clearly would have stayed at home if she had have done. Was talking to a guy at work today who said he'd seen a documentary with her that he thought was a Louis Theroux one and that she was clearly a lesbian who had internalised homophobia... she's not coming across to me at all as a lesbian so assuming this is someone making "lesbian" assumptions based on Ann's demeanour/appearance/career as opposed to anything she actually said

I think India probably confused by the cheers at her nomination as was then expecting to get boos when she nominated Ann for the bed scenario and there was silence.

Torn about a) whether to vote and b) who to vote for. Would never normally vote (even in the old days of me being a BB addict) but read that the ratings have dropped so much it's going to get cancelled. Would like to send a message to say "put older/different/more interesting people in the house and people would come back"... don't like India but she at least contributes something, unlike Johnny.

Re india willoughby, if you google photos of his 'dead' name- johnathan willoughby ,you see 3 pictures iw and one as a young man and one as a much older man. Iw seems to have remade herself in the image of his younger self. Maybe iw self image had something to do with regaining the beauty of his youth and to lose the identity of his older male self. If that nakes any sense.

I don't think Shane actually believed what he was saying about a spectrum. I think he's just trying to protect himself from the TRAs.

I hope IW goes, voting to save the person who causes conflict is all very well, but they then end up dominating the entire series and you never get a chance to see other housemates, especially as the more interesting ones seem to relax a bit once the dominating presence is gone.

I think that's my favourite moment so far. I thought India was expecting cheers of support because I think India thinks the cheers were for them not for the nomination.

I agree Sinister, plus so many times before we've missed an opportunity to get an annoying person out and then they never get nominated again (usually because they are protected by convoluted reasons for immunity) and so we can't get them out. Some have even gone on to win (Bear).

By "we" I obviously mean other people because I rarely if ever actually vote myself

Anne - I don’t personally think a women is unattractive or of more or less worth because she is not “beautiful” or “feminine” because they are mostly nonsense concept. We were talking, essenially about why Ann is not womencentric in virtually any of her views/politics.

Whether you agree or not that the performance of femininity should have any bearing on a women’s significance/worth (and I don’t think it should), society does and I should imagine places like the old boys club that is Westminster it really does, so for a gender non-conforming women such as Ann to garner male approval, which she would have needed to survive at that time, in that environment and even if she wasn’t interested in courting romantic relationships, it stands to reason that she sides with anti-women rhetoric.
