We are giving it a go but I’m not sure I can put up with Ardal O’Hanlon ( is that his name) .

I can't get past Fr. Dougal

I love that it is Fr. Dougal now!

I never watched father ted but I loved my hero. I like ardal and this role is different for him, he's playing more of a Columbo type - underestimated genius - like the scene where he's casually discussing melon curry () with Catherine, turns round and gets petty thief to hold said melon before nonchalantly slapping cuffs on him.

So glad it's back. I still miss the lovely Camille, but Florence is nice, and Ardal is beginning to grow on me. Glad the irritating daughter has gone, though.

I've never watched it before but loved it! It's like midsummer but on the beach !

Love it! Woman falls is pushed off balcony - cue jaunty opening music. Perfect winter viewing!

I was.mesmerised by Fr Dougal's skinny legs and pot belly.

Wasn’t too bad , I really like the actress who played the victim in tonight’s episode , pity she didn’t have a bigger role really .

Perfect relaxed viewing. Love the scenery.

I missed the end of the Kris Marshall series any idea where I can find it without buying a dvd? I did enjoy tonight’s episode but felt I’d come in in the middle.

I think they repeat them on Alibi or Drama

I love Death in Paradise, its more Scooby Doo than Scooby Doo.

I'm another one who can't get past Fr Dougal and it feels like it is getting a bit samey now.

I love it! But I also miss Camille and I was really hoping the last detective would have some romance with her!

Love Death in Paradise, have watched from the start, and the endless repeats on Alibi Channel, but there are some things that irritate me about it (and some other detectiveshows TBH)

1. Why did they kill off Ben Millar's character? He was lovely and could just have gone back to the UK, they didn't need to kill him.
2. nobody ever tries to revive a victim, obviously not applicable in some cases, but in many situations the 'normal' reaction to someone sudden collapse would be CPR/call emergency services.
3. Most of the murderers admit their guilt when confronted, which is just as well as the evidence is often sadly inconclusive, last night's episode being a case in point.

Or maybe I'm a bit over invested here, and should just relax and enjoy the scenery .

We love this for the lighthearted cheesiness and sunshine!

I think it suffers far more from the loss of Camille than the change of detectives. She was a great character and gave a bit of substance to the silliness and her absence leaves it tending a little too to much toward the white English male voice of experience saves the day. Although it will be Irish male now! Florence is sweet but far too young to be a good foil or love interest so I think it has lost something there. Camille was smart and vibrant and with her age could ask the difficult questions and get the character to open up.

I like Catherine too and hope we'll see more of her in this series... looks like she might be a love interest for new bloke. Though it seems soon after losing his beloved wife?!

Yes I miss camille too, wish the producers had locked her into a contract properly as the actress left to work on an American show I think.

Agree Florence is ok but an older female officer would have been a better choice.

I too think they're lining up Catherine to be Jack's (ardal's) new love - I don't think they'll rush into it the lead tends to stay a few years at least. Ardal's family is older so there isn't maybe as much pull back to the U.K. As there was for Ben and Kris as their children were very young/born while they were in the role
