Part of me hopes she went on there as a cry for help to show mates n family what hes like and be believed.
Other part hopes there actors

Bloomed · 03/01/2018 00:53

It's been picked up on on the other mn thread running on this too.
Hopefully the show will help other women realise this kind of behaviour is not to be tolerated.

NeverDarkedOn · 03/01/2018 00:57

Luisa Zissman and Aisling Hogan Wallace are publicly tweeting that they hear for Amy’s safety, as do I after watching that.

NavyGold · 03/01/2018 01:02

Oh god that poor girl! He was awful! And shameless about behaving so horrifically on TV so you can imagine what he's like without the cameras rolling. I hope to God she watched that back and saw what the rest of us saw. Such uncomfortable viewing, really hope Channel 5 intervened and pointed her in the direction of a decent counsellor.

sheepskinrug · 03/01/2018 02:53

Did anyone else keep thinking ‘Oscar Pistorious’?

Omg, no, but now you mention it...! I couldn't get David Brent out of my mind when watching him.

He was vile and the PP's observation about him being so manipulative that she eventually begged him for a hug was spot on.

He's awful and I just knew there would be a thread on here about it. Hopefully she realises sooner rather than later

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 03/01/2018 09:16

I’m suprised there isn’t a news story about this today. Loads of people I know are talking about it.

mishfish · 03/01/2018 09:35

I’m going to be writing a complaint to channel 5. I’m still horrified and worried

MsMims · 03/01/2018 11:46

Is there any hope they were actors? It was so awful, can’t believe he would be so blatant to behave like that in front of a TV camera. Doesn’t seem to be sign of anyone on twitter etc tracking down his social media either.

He was so angry with her and that only changed when she started crying, then he was smirking and looked really pleased with himself. Horrible.

tinkertailorsoildersailor · 03/01/2018 13:58

shows perfectly the empath - psychopath dynamic. She was brought up nicely, and is projecting on to him a 'reasonable' personna - when he doesn't actually own one. Her attempts to appease and empathise with him, are actually feeding his bad behaviour. It's certainly very illuminating - I have been thinking about it all day. It sheds light on all sorts of f*ed up dynamics, inter-personally and in society.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/01/2018 14:05

I've not seen this. Going to watch it now (if my blood pressure allows)

ladystarkers · 03/01/2018 14:20

How can I watch it please?

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/01/2018 14:21

Channel 5 website

Bloomed · 03/01/2018 14:23

I wish I'd seen this when I was in the early stages of that kind of relationship.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/01/2018 14:24

Me too Bloomed Sad

JoySaidThat · 03/01/2018 15:01

I found him quite terrifying & praying she’s not still with him. The way he manipulated her into a becoming a submissive apologetic crying person was so uncomfortable & upsetting to watch. Then he has the audacity hug her & call her babe & make out he’s all lovely to comfort her when she starts to cry - honestly I was shouting at the TV “run away!!”

Makes it even more terrifying being a mother to a daughter - I hope his friends & relatives have watched this & tell him how vile he is! Awful awful human!

pinkchampagne1 · 03/01/2018 15:32

It was really horrible viewing and reminded me so much of my relationship with my ex husband. I remember telling him that I had innocently danced with a friend of his (who I wouldn't fancy in a million years) and him acting in exactly the same way as this horrible man. I remember my mum phoning to talk to me and he was yelling "tell her what you've done" in the background. He too could switch to being all nice & charming within half an hour and it messed with my head. I felt really anxious for the young girl while watching this and hope she gets rid of him very soon.Sad

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/01/2018 15:38

Just finished watching it and am 😠

Worsethingshappenatsea · 03/01/2018 16:24

I knew there would be a thread about this ! How awful is Tom

thenightsky · 03/01/2018 17:03

Watching this on catch up now.

Jeez... what a hell of a reaction to her saying she went for a drink with someone AFTER they split Shock

I have the feeling that if there'd been no cameras there, she'd have got a slap. That man is evil.

Blessyourheart · 03/01/2018 17:03

Tom is fucking awful. Run Amy Cross, run.

thenightsky · 03/01/2018 17:21

And now smirking and wanting to hug her after being so fucking vile. I'd have spat in his smug face at that point if I'd been Amy.

Blessyourheart · 03/01/2018 17:29

He attacked until she cried and then 'saved' her.

LemonadeWithACherry · 03/01/2018 17:33

I've been thinking about this program ever since watching it last night. It brought back horrible memories of an older ex who treated me similarly when I was only 17. I am still disappointed and angry that none of my family stepped in to help me get away from him. I hope Amy has loving supportive people around her who will help her to break free and enjoy her life away from this piece of shit excuse for a man.
