Awwww, feel so sorry for Ben, used to really dislike his character, but now with nasty Stella on the scene, I feel really sad for him.

Made me cry watching it just

Good job its only a TV programme

That is the most shocking thing I have ever seen on Stenders

Beauregard · 19/04/2007 21:09

What has she done now?

prettymum · 19/04/2007 21:10

what is she doing??

Pixiefish · 19/04/2007 21:10

Pinching his arm, mentally torturing him

Bananaknickers · 19/04/2007 21:12

She is pinching his arms and body. Telling him he is a girl and his dad dosen't like him and just emotionally torturing him.She cuddled him and made him say she was his best friend. She left the room and he sobbed his little heart out

zippitippitoes · 19/04/2007 21:14

I haven't been watching but this but what is the programme for?

Pinkchampagne · 19/04/2007 21:16

I am finding it pretty disturbing viewing

Kelly1978 · 19/04/2007 21:18

I'm now watching it. It must be based on rl to some degree, I jsut don't understand what someone would get out of emotionally abusing a child. It is horrible viewing, and I really don't think it is right for a soap. They are jsut desperate for viewers.

Hulababy · 19/04/2007 21:19

Hate this story line.

Bananaknickers · 19/04/2007 21:21

lots of children Bens age watch it though. It may help in some way too. I am also finding this hard to watch too

Bananaknickers · 19/04/2007 21:22

Kelly they would get power. She is obviously someone who finds it hard to be liked herself and this is making her powerful

I think children would find it disturbing rsther than helpful...and i can't see 8 year olds watching identifying and then feeling they could seek help as a result and is that what a soap should be doing anyway?

Wotzsaname · 19/04/2007 21:25

I have watched for many years. But the storyline with Stella and Ben going through mental abuse is terrible.
I will not watch it anymore.

2shoes · 19/04/2007 21:25

dd loves eastenders but no way is she watching it at the moment. even ds(15) is getting angry

Wotzsaname · 19/04/2007 21:26

2shoes I have just gone onto the BBC website to say the same thing as posted,

Bananaknickers · 19/04/2007 21:29

perhaps not Zipp. I don't know thank god. Just thinking that when abused adults are on the tv or whenever they often say that they never knew it was wrong when they were a child and thought it normal to be treated this way. Perhaps it may make them aware that it is not.

songbirdforever · 19/04/2007 21:30

Agree that it's really disturbing. Just not quite sure what it's all about. Does this kind of thing really happen? Are they just posting the phone line to qualify it as a storyline ...

Hulababy · 19/04/2007 21:31

Oh I am sure that this sort of thing will happen; it will be based on RL stories sadly

Just not sure I want to watch it I'm afriad. I watch TV int he evening primarily for leisure and to wind down. But not this.

Bananaknickers · 19/04/2007 21:35

I am beginning to hate the show. How many people sit on the sofa and squirm every time its on.Couples moving on from affairs, bullied children ect and now this. All for entertainment.

zippitippitoes · 19/04/2007 21:35

I'm not keen on didactic tv like this i think it is heavyhanded...i don't find it innovative or cutting edge

songbirdforever · 19/04/2007 21:36

Surely with Stella, though, there must be other indications that she's a nutter. This doesn't just play out in one area of life. I think Phil would have spotted that .

songbirdforever · 19/04/2007 21:39

Yeah, agree. But it's always been pretty miserable Eastenders. Writing seems to be particularly poor over last couple of weeks. Should give up really.

zippitippitoes · 19/04/2007 21:43

the problem with issues on soaps is that we know that they don't care about the characters..there is no suspension of disbelief in east enders it is purely a vehicle to compete with coronation street and it is wooden and laboured

it creaks

BigHotMama · 19/04/2007 21:44

It is horrble viewing I must admit, but what I dont get is how on earth Phil Mitchell has pulled this bird Stella? Thought he had more taste.
