I love Katya, she has such a fun personality! If I was going to plan a fantasy strictly dinner party, I would so choose Katya and Neil!

Inkanta · 27/11/2017 20:49

Got to say I was impressed with how Shirley spoke to the dancers on Saturday - conducting herself like a head judge I thought. She was assertive in her positive and encouraging comments and quite confident and inspiring. I'm back on liking her again.

ShirleyPhallus · 27/11/2017 21:42

Shirley was on Graham Norton the other day and she seemed sooo nervous I thought.

She said she has never done TV work before.... on that basis I like her even more, she seems so natural in front of a camera

saladdays66 · 27/11/2017 23:12

I loved Debbie's AT. Love the relationship she has with giovanni and thr care he takes with her. The intensity and intent were fab. Also loved joe.

Alexandra and gorka had no connection. He just looked bored. As though he wants to be anywhere else.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2017 08:21

Shirley seems very relaxed and natural in front of the camera when she is talking about the dance I think. She seems less at ease with the chit chat bits.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2017 09:02

CeeBee I knew katya would do well in the record breaker, she's hyper, that was just up her street! I've taught myself that step it's fun!

IhaveChillyToes · 28/11/2017 10:38

Did you guys know Anton had had a hair transplant?

I didn't have any idea

He is on The Wright Stuff talking about it now

CassandraCross · 28/11/2017 11:28

saladdays66 I too can see no connection between Gorka and Alexandra, he always seems to have a 'beam me up Scotty' expression on his face whenever AB does the whole "dancing with this man" stuff. I saw them on ITT last week and the difference between the way he interacted with Zoe and AB was quite stark.

I knew Anton had had a hair transplant Ihave, I read it in one of the papers a while ago, but I hadn't actually noticed he had one and wouldn't have known if I hadn't read it, if you see what I mean!

Angelalley · 28/11/2017 12:06

i am not a shirley fan. I was untill she was so bad with Jonnie.

MrsJayy · 28/11/2017 12:20

She was terrible with johnnie she was obsessed with his bum sticking out and feet placing urm the guy has a prosthetic not that johnnie wanted perferencial treatment but considerationof his leg would have been nice from Shirley

SoupDragon · 28/11/2017 12:23

They were all obsessed with Jonnie's bottom :)

Ceto · 28/11/2017 12:23

People don't generally make jokes about the judges in their leaving speeches; they usually thank them.

I've certainly heard quite a few make jokes about the judges at that point. I really don't see what's wrong with it.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2017 12:24

The judges all laughed with Susan didn't they?

MrsJayy · 28/11/2017 12:28

Yes the judges all got Susan and were laughing along with her.

Ceto · 28/11/2017 12:31

Well, exactly. It's perfectly clear that it wasn't offensive, and no-one was offended.

RhiannonOHara · 28/11/2017 12:32

Shirley did also try to give some constructive suggestions for how Jonnie might improve. And for all we know, they talked about it more backstage/in the bar afterwards. I would suspect he didn't resent her for it.

Re Susan, well the judges always laugh along with the comments leavers make. They kind of have to or they'd look sour. Anyway, whether they did or said, I as a viewer thought that she milked and overdid that joke, that it wasn't particularly true given how nice they had been to her previously, and felt that it made her seem a bit hung up on it all and rather conceited.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2017 12:35

I thought they were clearly genuine laughs and not the obvious faked smile/shoulder jiggle kind of laugh.

Ceto · 28/11/2017 12:38

Conceited? When she made it perfectly clear that she knew she was the worst dancer and was going to leave?

SoupDragon · 28/11/2017 12:41

She only made one comment didn't she? She thanked "the judges, who have brought so much light into my life each week"

RhiannonOHara · 28/11/2017 12:54

Yeah, but she'd snarked about them at Halloween and I think at Blackpool as well. And suggesting they'd been horrid to her 'each week' was patently inaccurate.

'conceited' probably wasn't the right word. I didn't want to use 'bitter' again and couldn't think of anything else similar!

charliebear78 · 28/11/2017 13:20

I too cannot see/sense any connection between Gorka and AB.
He says very little and almost doesn't have a personality-which I think is largely due to AB not giving him chance.
I dunno, having not watched any ITT- Is he any different in other interviews?
He is easy on the eye and a good dancer but just seems so wooden if you know what I mean!?(obviously off the dance floor lol)

CassandraCross · 28/11/2017 13:25

charliebear78 he was totally different on ITT, funny and engaging.

CassandraCross · 28/11/2017 13:40

sorry an extra bit to my last post about Gorka - especially when he was just with Zoe and when he did the 'Pro Challenge', he zoned out a bit when AB joined him but livened up again when he was wising Zoe 'Happy Birthday'.

CeeBeeBee · 28/11/2017 14:39

I -stalk- follow Gorka on instagram and if you look at his videos, he does genuinely seem to be having fun with AB.

However, I agree that on the show, it’s always AB who dominates their screen time with him looking on uncomfortably, especially when she cries.

disappearingninepatch · 28/11/2017 16:11

DD's verdict on AB singing 'Happy Birthday to You' to Zoe: "She's showing off. Everyone knows you don't sing 'Happy Birthday to You' tunefully." That's my girl!
