If I had the money (not to mention the figure and talent to actually be at a competition!) I’d love this one of Oti’s.

Hell, I’d wear it to the hoovering!

I agree it was Susan's time, even though she was my favourite. (And my favouritism was largely based on how strongly she reminds me of DW rather than dancing skill!).

I think my new favourite might be Debbie. She's really grown on me this week.

Wolfcub · 26/11/2017 21:29

I think it's probable a lot of people do like A B on the show. I think it's unfortunate that all the media training she's had means she can come across as being just a bit too controlled and therefore not natural

CaveMum · 26/11/2017 21:30

They used to put the measurements of each dress in the description so you could Envy at their dimensions!

derxa · 26/11/2017 21:30

Fuck off Tess - they are not 'little tears' just because Susan is small. What a dick you are. She really is horrible

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 26/11/2017 21:30

I think it’s very tough for a celeb to hit the dance-off from high up the leaderboard. This is the first Alexandra’s vote has been tested and it’s failed her - it’s like a personal message from the GBP saying “we don’t like you”. Assuming her real personality is anything like it appears on screen then she probably feels that as a really painful rejection (along with the professional implications of being revealed to have little public support).

Susan OTOH has got much further than she’d expect (Richard Coles was very much the preferred designated comedy duffer at the start), has improved her name recognition by a enormous factor, and has demonstrated on several weeks that the GBP like her enough to pick up the phone/mouse, which makes her a bankable choice for TV bookings and Panto next year. No wonder she was grinning (quite apart from the “joy of daaance” factor which I’m sure is genuine).

StrictlyCalmanDancing · 26/11/2017 21:34

I think the issue with AB is that because she came from a reality show, she knows how it works and the way some of her reactions seem controlled and staged make me cynical. I'm sure she's lovely in real life, I just haven't warmed to her in SCD terms.

troodiedoo · 26/11/2017 21:35

@CeeBeeBee they all seemed lovely and very professional, and all got on. I wasn't a fan of tess before, but have changed mind, she's a natural in front of camera and stunning. She was in pain from killer heels but you'd never know when the cameras were on.

Susans wife was beaming with pride the whole time, it was so sweet.

The atmosphere when Joe danced was electric, I think he will win.

Simon rimmer was sat next to Gloria hunniford on the front row, and steph from BBC breakfast! Amazing!

Darcy and craig were chatting and joking all the way through, they clearly get on well. She also had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction getting up at the end - she just laughed it off. Top lady!

CeeBeeBee · 26/11/2017 21:40

Thanks Troodiedoo. It's lovely to hear that it's nothing like what the papers suggest.

I'd really like Joe to win so I'm glad his dance was a crowd pleaser!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/11/2017 21:46

As Monkseal points out, next week will be the first Strictly show without Kevin actually competing since Louis Smith won in 2012 Shock That’s a hell of a run, fair play to him.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/11/2017 21:47

Troodiedoo - would have loved to see that Argentine Tango live Envy

troodiedoo · 26/11/2017 21:57

I suppose it's like any workplace, you might have the odd fallout and tensions but at the end of the day you get on with the job, and it's easier if you are on good terms with everyone.

The Argentine tango was very special too, I didn't get to see a lot of the kicks though as I was right behind Bruno. They were all fabulous. I just don't know who will go next week!

MrsJamin · 26/11/2017 22:03

Kevin's speech at the end sounded odd as he's never left strictly before! I always think it's a little rotten to be 2nd or 3rd, partly because it isn't announced who is 2nd and who is 3rd and they are never asked "this was your strictly journey, is there anything you'd like to say to your partner?". I hope Kevin and Karen are OK. She seems very high maintenance and this is his second marriage.

I always get sad on Sundays at this stage, I don't want anyone to leave.

I'll be interested to see how ab is on itt about being in the dance off, but to be fair to the woman she had a tricky dance.

JV seems to get on better with Debbeh, I never liked him before but he seems so considerate and respectful, I think they are absolutely charming together. Perhaps if DM had been with Brendan or Anton they would have fetishised her and made her ridiculous. JV hasn't.

SoupDragon · 26/11/2017 23:02

Love the way the thread morphs into the Blue Planet :)

(And yes, that octopus was awesome! As was the little cuttlefish proving size doesn't matter)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/11/2017 23:17

He did swim off looking very pleased with himself, didn't he Soup?

I liked the baby sea dragons too.

Was everybody in your house shouting "Noooo! Run, crab, run!" when that ray appeared and (spoiler alert) et the crab? It was bedlam here!

bookbook · 26/11/2017 23:25

well, I was out tonight - nothing exciting sadly , so just caught up on iplayer. So glad Gemma got through - I picked her in the first week :)

IhaveChillyToes · 26/11/2017 23:41

I enjoyed Susan and Kevin far more than AB dance but her dances just leave me cold, thought she was so €>~|~%€" in her speech

Loved Susan's speech both before and after

I did think Brenda did look very silly trying to look sexy or like a model - IMHO he looked the opposite of sexy or a model

Oti looked amazing

Anton and Bruno were just funny

CassandraCross · 27/11/2017 00:32

I too love the way this thread morphs into Blue Planet II for a couple of posts after the results show, there are some seriously odd looking things in that there Ocean!!

Ceto · 27/11/2017 01:01

THANK YOU TO MY WIFE????!

Why did that merit the capital letters, exclamation mark, and all those question marks?

TheDrsDocMartens · 27/11/2017 03:39

I’m loving the mixture of dance and octopus posts too 😄

HangryHanderson · 27/11/2017 04:09

I assume because the pros very seldom thank their spouses when asked if there's anything they wish to say - usually that's the cue to focus gushing about their partner, so in that respect it was off script.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 27/11/2017 05:42

Kudos to that octopus sticking its tentacles in the shark’s gills.

But that sea otter scratching the back of its head! Happy sigh.

BalloonSlayer · 27/11/2017 07:13

Has Susan's wife even got a name? I have never heard her name mentioned. She's just "my wife" - makes me think a Les Dawson joke is coming.
