Oh and Darcey has looked a bit weird this weekend. The dress tonight with the train Whhhaaattt??? Grin

MrsJamin · 19/11/2017 20:46

Not RTFT (sorry!) as I watched the main show this morning but I really loved Gemma's dance and can really see how she's progressed. Johnnie did need to go but my goodness wasn't the wind taken out of Debbeh's sails when the red light went on? I think she was believing that the judge's belief in her will see her win it, but she's got to get the public on side.
I know Susan is geek girl squad, etc but really her paso was poor - just no shaping and she didn't even do good flamenco hands... Also Kevin made it about him a lot... 5 years he's been pitching this to the producers, blah blah blah...
The Paso doblethon sounds fun!

bonfireheart · 19/11/2017 20:47

Well I did wander over to DM this evening (I promise it's very rare that I do!) anyway on their homepage the third story was taken from a MN thread!!

NumberEightyOne · 19/11/2017 20:47

I can't imagine how the press intrusion must feel. It seems like there's a new allegation against Debbie every day.

Thetreesareallgone · 19/11/2017 20:49

Darcey's hair was like a birdsnest, it was an up-do which was out of control. I thought when Claudia did the very unfunny seagull skit that it was going to land in Darcey's hair but it didn't.

Also- there's dramatic stage make-up and then there's covering the entire eye area in black crayon. Susan and Alexandra suffered particularly last night. Alexandra is quite attractive, but the black eyes and red lipstick, it's all too much.

bigkidsdidit · 19/11/2017 20:52

We vote for Susan six times every week GrinBlush

I just love complete amateurs who try hard. I voted for ed balls every week too. And I LOVE Susan's comedy. And her in general. How can you not vote for a woman who has cats called DCI Jane Tennyson and Dr Abigail Bartlet!

Anyway. Sadly, I think the tide of public opinion is turning against her and she will be in trouble next week. It's often the week after Blackpool isn't it.

bigkidsdidit · 19/11/2017 20:54

When she goes we'll divide our votes between Joe and Gemma

bonfireheart · 19/11/2017 20:55

Think the ones in danger now are Debbie and Mollie. Susan should be in danger but she has lots of fans and it's the law that Kevin must be in every final. So I think Davood will go before her.
Joe is getting cuter and cuter!!

ShirleyPhallus · 19/11/2017 20:57

Being in the DO a few weeks before the final is actually a huge blessing because then all the fans remember to vote for her again

LizzieSiddal · 19/11/2017 20:58

My favourites are Gemma and Davood. I hope they’re both in the final.

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/11/2017 21:04

I think someone must have told Bruno to be kinder this week.

Jonnie and Oti very gracious - that was the Jonnie everyone was expecting all along IMO.

That Soice girl samba really was crap though wasn’t it? The theme, the styling...wtf. Not surprised at all she was in the DO.

I’m curious how people can tell that Alexandra’s tears are false, but Susan’s are genuine? So Alexandra knows that she can dance...Susan must know that she ( & KFG) have a lot of the popular vote by now sureky?

Mollies delight was lovely.

My sister and I were wondering if a hairdresser got a bun donut stuck in Darceys hair or something Grin it really was bad and very distracting.

Tess' mother hen routine seemed a bit full on.

Any goss leaked from the Blackpool piss up yet?

Figgygal · 19/11/2017 21:11

Debbie deserved to be in bottom everything about that routine was amateurish

Johnny has been phoning it in for weeks right decision

Longtime · 19/11/2017 21:11

Yes, Bruno wasn’t rude this week thank goodness. Thought the same Thursday about Darcey’s Hair.

CassandraCross · 19/11/2017 21:12

Debbie may be feeling the heat of all the media speculation around her and Giovanni. I think there was a story this week about how Giovanni's girlfriend is unhappy about how close him and Debbie are, complete with paparazzi pictures of D&G standing close together after training, of course. Must take it's toll, I would hate my every move being scrutinised and commented on like that.

I think Susan has passed her sell by date and really hope she doesn't get into the final.

Petalflowers · 19/11/2017 21:20

I felt the vote at the end was wrong. They were supposed to judge on the final dance, and the final dance alone. However, Johnnies dance was a better performance. Debbie's was poor. Maybe it was more technical, but a felt that was a little feeble. I'll miss Oti. She's my favourite dancer.

dollybird · 19/11/2017 21:28

Did Debbie slip at one point?

ReallyExhaustedLlama · 19/11/2017 21:35

It’s a shame to see Susan losing the joy these last couple of weeks. On the results show she sounded uncomfortable to be there at the expense of others. Perhaps anticipating the media backlash that Ruth started to feel after Aston went out is making it harder to just enjoy the dancing and sparkles as it gets more intense?

OneInAMillionYou · 19/11/2017 21:40

I don't read the Daily Mail but find it astonishing that they are aiming their bile at Debbie.
She's fairly recently widowed, doing something for herself and Giovanni's partnering has been respectful and friendly. I would be staggered if there was anything else in it, and whichever PR thinks it's a good idea to suggest such needs a good slap.
I hope the newspapers don't put Debbie off enjoying her Strictly experience.

On a side note, how are Boe and Ball getting away with recycling old songs for the Christmas market? So cynical and their singing was bloody awful.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 19/11/2017 21:48

I miss Danny, and Jay. They put so much feeling into their dances. How can Alexandra have no chemistry with Gorka? But she doesn’t. I watch their dances and feel -nothing.

Ah, this time last year was Danny and Oti’s Charleston at Blackpool with the one handed cartwheel that literally made me gasp. Off to relive the glory days and wonder where it all went so wrong this year...

brussels3467 · 19/11/2017 21:48

I don't read the Daily Mail either so am not aware of their reporting on Debbie. Although it's not her fault that the judges are behaving in such a fawning way to her and ongoing her errors it does make me dislike her and her "ooh who me?" routine.

brussels3467 · 19/11/2017 21:49

ignoring

Petalflowers · 19/11/2017 21:50

I saw Debbie slip on the podium also.

Theromanempire · 19/11/2017 21:54

Debbie lost my vote with the ridiculous fawning over her average tango. She was wobbling all over yet it got 40...but Jay's jive didn't still bitter. She has been over marked for weeks now! Clearly the judges are pushing and pushing and the general public realise and tend to do the opposite.

Thetreesareallgone · 19/11/2017 21:56

My feeling is that Debbie knew she looked ridiculous, a nearly 60 year old on a podium with all the young dancers, aping someone in their early 20s and her heart wasn't in it. My guess is she had a wobble, wondered why she was there at all, and her heart wasn't in the dancing. She looked like she was faking it on the stage, and looked ready to cry off it.

There's just too much forced 'fun' and very little elegance this year on Strictly. I think that's why Gemma's lovely dance was so refreshing, (medium)-nice outfit and lovely flowing ballroom moves. The rest is increasingly bizarre.

CassandraCross · 19/11/2017 22:00

I'm a bit wary of this upcoming Paso Doble -a - thon, it has the makings of a being a total car crash as it normally seems to require a fair bit of room to perform.

TheOnly I so wish Oti and Danny had performed that Charleston in the Final, it was breathtaking, I preferred it to their Samba and I think it might have swayed the public vote in their favour to win.
