Had to examine the footage of Debbeh and Gio after comments here about the lift and what he was holding Grin I

AppleKatie · 11/11/2017 22:01

Blimey this thread moves fast!

Just caught up on catch up.

Ruth and Johnie or Gemma and Johnnie for the dance off for me.

ReallyExhaustedLlama · 11/11/2017 22:02

Whoops! I can confirm he puts his hands through her legs and then grips one of her hands to spin her! The letting go after to dismount was what looked a bit clumsy GrinGrin

scrabbler3 · 11/11/2017 22:02

Anton irritated me with all the yapping and Ruth was poor, so I hope they're in the DO.

I thought that Mollie was undermarked. However, it may result in the public voting for her if that's the general feeling.

Davood has made genuine improvements and deserves to do well.

HangryHanderson · 11/11/2017 22:12

No you haven't red -the gay club refers to Flamingos but the manager iirc said G wasn't there that night, only some of the crew. Aljaz and Neil were mentioned in earlier reports. Later reports implied he had been caught cheating.
Have just watched Ruth again having read a comment about Anton's hand on her back. I have seen Brendan manoeuvre his partners (Sunetra in tango, Charlotte in...everything) and seen Ruthie cling onto Anton for dear life but watching Anton trying and failing to manoeuvre her tonight is nothing short of epic.
He covered for her re the stairs too - you can see him look across and wonder whether she's going to move or not. Or I need new glasses.
I wouldn't have caught the cane and hat, mind, so there's that.

dolfinne · 11/11/2017 22:45

was Wembly week instead of Blackpool or did they use to do both ?
i loved Russel Grants jive at wembly where he flew out of a rocket

CaveMum · 11/11/2017 22:47

Always watch the location of the Pro male's hand on the lady's back during the Ballroom routines! It's a dead giveaway every time!

callmeadoctor · 11/11/2017 22:49

Cave, giveaway about what?

ImListening · 11/11/2017 22:52

I’m intrigued Cave

Angelalley · 11/11/2017 22:56

i voted for jonnie, Susan and AB
Not a fan of AB but liked her dance
missed Davoods as phone went

CeeBeeBee · 11/11/2017 23:00

Me too, giveaway for what? That the woman is making mistakes and the man needs to steer into position? I liked Darren Bennet's comments about "grip and rip" a couple of weeks ago on ITT.

TheweewitchRoz · 11/11/2017 23:03

Totally loved Susan & RuthSmile

SingingTunelessly · 11/11/2017 23:04

Think Cave just means the way the Pro dancer just pulls their partner into place/guides/holds and grips them where they should be? Quite obvious tonight with Anton and Ruth tbh. I do like their partnership tho.

CaveMum · 11/11/2017 23:05

Sorry, I meant it's a giveaway about them steering their partner around the floor. If the lady is dancing her steps and following her partner's lead correctly, then the frame is light and easy. The second the man's hand drops from her shoulder blade he is having to manoeuvre her into position because she's either a) not keeping up; b) gone off time; or c) forgotten her steps.

If you are dancing correctly you should be able to dance it without contact through the arms at all - the majority of leads come from contact through the body - hence why gapping is such an issue.

ElspethFlashman · 11/11/2017 23:31

God 15 pages in a few hours!

I'm gonna read back in a min, but Johnnie has to go. So glad Darcy said he was getting worse. He is!

CeeBeeBee · 11/11/2017 23:37

Thanks for clearing that up, Sing and CaveMum.

HangryHanderson · 12/11/2017 00:13

So, if Davood gets through to next week, which Bond paso will he do, do we think?

HangryHanderson · 12/11/2017 00:20

And can he ever beat KFMFG's MF Paso on Kev's paso home turf? Can he? Will he?*

*no
HangryHanderson · 12/11/2017 01:35

Bloody insomnia.
Who's on for a Dancing On Ice Thread in the New Year?
Cheryl Baker and Anthony Cotton are doing it (I always thought the latter would do Strictly at the same time as Coro but Coro bosses frown on it acc to Beverley Callard). Jayne and Chris are head judges now with Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner.
They remain the two 'ringers' I would never tire of watching (I also loved Meryl and Charlie on DWTS)

Cherrypi · 12/11/2017 04:52

That’s really interesting about the gaping Cavemum. Thanks for sharing.

Doesn’t everyone normally up their game the week before Blackpool? This week was a bit disappointed I thought. Hopefully we’ll be in for a good Blackpool week instead.

wowfudge · 12/11/2017 05:13

Wembley was instead of Blackpool that year - didn't work though as it was too big and just not the same as the Tower Ballroom, which - clue in the name - is a ballroom and perfect for dancing.

ImListening · 12/11/2017 07:42

Thanks Cave

disappearingninepatch · 12/11/2017 08:26

I think Jonnie has had enough. He has said several times that his aim was to get to Hallowe'en, as if he's ready to go now. At least Ruth wants to dance.

MrsJamin · 12/11/2017 08:34

He's mentally checked out hasn't he? He never seemed that into strictly, to be honest- he's not shown that much emotion or commitment? I was excited about him being in it but actually he's been quite disappointing personality-wise!

CeeBeeBee · 12/11/2017 09:32

I agree about Johnnie and feel really bad for Oti. Oti is doing her best, as usual, to come up with fabulous routines to suit his strengths and it's as if he's wasting her efforts.
