Shirley did not keep the better dancer in.

Really really disappointed. Was so looking forward to Aston and Janette doing an Argentine tango - that would have been amazing. The choreography wasn’t right but that wasn’t Aston’s fault - he danced so well.

The most annoying thing is the field is now totally open for Alexandra Burke to win. She has been professionally trained (by Craig, no less) and the whole, faux-humble “oh I am just trying my best, poor little me”, teddy clutching thing is really beginning to get on my tits.

It made me like Shirley more. She DID keep the better dancer in the dance off in, That is all that counts, not the previous weeks. Darcey and Bruno were the wimps that could not do the right thing.

Remember the Peter Andre/Jamelia fiasco when Andre was kept in with his awful jive. I hated Jamelia but she obviously danced better than him in the dance off and the decision made a mockery of the whole show.

I don't hate johnnie at all. He seems like a nice guy but he both danced badly and performed badly this week. Ruth danced better and gave an entertaining performance in my opinion

Well the judges marked Jonnie higher than Gemma, Aston and Ruth and the same as Mollie

Goodness. I expressed an opinion that Jonnie is not my favourite - hardly hate! AND I explained it, no need to ask why

I think Shirley made the right decision based on that dance off dance alone, which is what it's meant to be. She can't take into account past and potential dances.

There was nothing Aston could do to improve his dance in that short space of time. Except perhaps ditch that ridiculous wig.

Based on his other dances he should have been in the final though, I agree.

Saw that Aston had gone in the spoiler last night and was really surprised, after having seen them dance again, i'm still surprised! It wasn't his danve, the choreography was poor but there were no obvious mistakes.

Shirley most definitely has her favourites. Darcey and Bruno spot on. Out of the two, Mollie should have gone.

Poppypopcorn, why should Mollie have gone? She scored higher than Aston originally and yet she made a mistake. In the dance off she didn't make a mistake so danced better than the first time. Aston danced it the same as the first time.

Darcey and Bruno have no guts at all. I like Shirley and she went up in my estimation tonight.

I thought that Alexandra, Aston and Debbie would be in the final three and that Debbie or Aston would win it. I'm really shocked by tonight's result.

Mollie is nice but lacks charisma and I'm not sure how many people would have recognised her before this series, so I'm not surprised that she's failing to win votes.

Cheeseandcucumber, why? So the better dancer doesn't stay. Is that a new rule? Oh yes the Peter Andre rule

Thought Shirley was ballsy. She based it on the DO rather than dances to date. Thought Craig's 4 was ridiculously low but maybe it was meant to galvanise the fan base. it didn't.
Jonnie and Gemma were the ones that got away with it tonight.

Shirley did her job tonight.

Wardrobe did Aston no favours, why the hell was he in fancy dress to do a VW? Didn't make sense.

Routine also did not help. He was shafted.

It's a shame, he's been great and had more to give.

It's not 'hate' for Johnny, but he isn't actually doing much dancing - the fabulous Oti just appears to dance around him.

If you don’t have the public vote, you have to nail every dance. TBH I thought that Mollie was a goner simply because Aston had a better track record - so I’m pleased to see the judges sticking to judging the DO.

It's the Pro's job to choreograph the right routine for the style of dance, so yes that is not Aston's fault. However, whilst he might not have made any mistakes in the choreography, his footwork was incorrect because he was too "up and down" instead of acheiving a smooth glide across the floor with gentle rise and fall. That's a major flaw in the dance and resulted in his low score, just the same way Shirley marked Brendan and Charlotte down for having rise and fall in their Tango.

mydog Aston is a better dancer than Mollie. Shirley chose to keep Mollie in. Ergo Shirley did not keep in the better dancer.

Aston's negative comments all focussed on the style/choreography, which was nothing to do with him, he danced the routine he was given well. Mollie made errors on the first attempt and improved on the second so received praise for doing so, Aston made no errors any week and is the better dancer of the two.

Not sure if it was mentioned last night as I wasn't watching live, but did anyone else think Katya's outfit had some unfortunate button placement?

Shirley voted for the better dancer in the dance off which is what ALL the judges are meant to do. Yes overall Aston is a better dancer but yesterday he was worse than Mollie. He was 2nd from bottom on the leader board

He obviously did not have public support unlike Ruth, Susan, Gemma and Jonnie.

Blame Janette for crap choreography but don't blame Craig or Shirley for being honest

I love Janette, not sure why all the hatred towards her choreography. Clearly it wasn't traditional enough but at this stage they need to take risks and think about the entertainment factor as well. I'm really gutted not to see them at Blackpool.

I'm backing Debbie all the way now. Although I can't work out if Giovanni is a bit of a creep or not.

Love Oti too, but not sure that Johnny will be able to wing it through another Latin dance without even remotely moving his hips!
